Really? Evidence please? This went to 400 degrees in November at £550.

Jl did have it for under £500 months back as I got richa sounds to price match and got another £20 off
It on my wall and a fab tv
Sainsbury also had it for £400 a while ago too

Quick review heat at this price

I just got this from JL for £519.95 on a Richer Sounds price match; which isn't bad with their 5 year guarantee but they're now sold out at JL and the last few priced higher at RS. I don't know if JL would match CPC even if they do get more stock (they only match high street stores; so not sure if CPC qualify). However, I'd guess most retailers that still have this model could be down to their final stocks now.

There were only a couple of people managed to get the Sainsbury's £400 price successfully, as that was really intended for a different model; the ones that slipped through appeared to be mistakes. The £449 price at JL and Amazon last September was only available for a small amount of time (just days or maybe only hours) so I decided not to beat myself up too much about missing it and order the £519.95 deal anyway.

This TV is okay... it can produce some nice pictures but also shows its limitations at times; don't expect wonders or much of a "wow" factor except for the size. The screen is quite reflective - during dark scenes you can struggle to see through the reflection to the picture unless you're watching in a darkened room. It has a satellite input too, which is a bonus, but doesn't support Freesat so it's manual tuning only. The whathifi review is pretty accurate really. I think you'd need to pay around £300 more to get a significantly better TV set of the same size, so overall it's a fair buy at this price point.

Sainsbury's are doing this at £499. Check the website under TV offers. Picked one up today from Oldbury with my colleague discount for £450 :-D

I called around and there's still stock left at Tamworth, Rugby, and one display model at Leicester North. SKU #:124972848.

Good luck!

Great timing. Is this best deal at moment on 50" as I'll be buying one today?

I own an LG plasma for 3 years now. in like first year it was ok, but now the ghosting is terrible! In the other hand my brother got a Panasonic plasma for like 6 years now - no ghosting at all! also I've seen some other plasma, similar thing with all of them. personally I would not touch any plasma other than Panasonic.

That's why I bought via John Lewis...5 year guarantee ; )

I got this from Amazon in September 13. Picture quality is amazing. Smart TV content is great, plenty of Hdmi and USB connectivity. Still worth the £500 price tag!

Plasma tv's look nice the power usage is a lot higher than an LED. My led tv (42") uses about the same power as a normal light bulb!
Just some extra info about plasmas in general.

They had this model in my local sainsburys (washington) for £499 yesterday.

apparently blacks look quite washed out on lg plasmas, it's about the best 50 inch under 600 though

I bought this TV 2 months ago. I'm satisfied with it. Amazing picture quality and motion.

i said i would get a smart t with 3d once a 50" hit £500 but am wondering now do i really need 3d ?? would i be better getting a better spec smart one is there much content available for 3d ??

or am i just being tightwad and finding excuses not to buy one lol

Tempted to get one now and I wasn't even looking for a TV!

black level is pool, occasionally restart itself for no reason.
no response for a few second after switch on.
other than these, it's fine. Maybe worth £500.
I got it for £449, no regret.
