1080p, 3d, Smart features, 50 inch.... Plasma, but good reviews on AV forums. £100 more for wifi version, £27 for wifi dongle if you need it, but ethernet connection on back, get a home plug deal then you are wired in for £20..

Buy it if you want a HD screen.

Fill in form on John lewis website:

johnlewis.com/hel…spx

They will match this price:

richersounds.com/pro…70t

(RS don't actually have stock.)

John Lewis have charged me £599. So its 95 pence cheaper than RS.

If you need a tv, and have space, I think its a good deal. 1st deal posted but bought lots of things I didn't need thanks to this site. Thought I owed it to post something I have bought that was a good deal.

Anyway really but if you buy first and the other price goes up your stuck with the higher price unless you find it cheaper within 28 days of buying.

nothing wrong with LG. Got two 42 inch plasmas 5 year old and never had a problem, unlike my Sony which died after a year or my Panasonic which had worst picture ever after couple of years.

They must be a TV expert and have tried and tested lots of TV's to know that all LG's lack quality. Very odd since all of the LG's I have had have been great, and people who own different brands of plasma/LED/LCD tv's seem to think my LG's are superb...

The price match promise thing means you pay their price, but get refunded the difference 3-5 days after the order. If you get delivery a week after the order you will have been refunded the difference by the time it arrives. Hope this helps...

So, Mr Troll, please tell me what is wrong with my 50" LG plasma tv.
That's the one which still amazes me with the clarity of the HD picture after a year.
The one with such good sound that I haven't even bothered to turn on my surround sound system.

Remember the advice? > "Better to keep your mouth shut and only let people THINK you're stupid?" (_;)

Oh and don't just take my word for it.

I'm loving my LG, would most likely consider again if buying when the times comes around again...
Aaarggh do I buy, need a new tv 42" or bigger for my front room so I can give my kids my old panni plasma in their play room. Was looking for a led but don't know now !!
Don't LG have issues with 24fps at the minute?
This is very very tempting. Bit apprehensive about buying a TV without seeing the picture first though.

Hubby has it in his head that panasonnic make he best tvs as our old plasma is still going strong after five years, picture actually not that bad, just the kids want a upgrade from their 26" LCD for heir Xbox. Think I will wait for one to come on that everyone loves X)

Blooming letter t keeps sticking on my iPad edit reason.

You should have contacted Sony, likewise, If you had a problem you should tell Panasonic, don't moan. Panasonic are still the best. Having said that, I needed a second cheap 32" TV & got an LG LCD. It's been a very good set with a very good picture. Panasonic plasma would still be my first choice though.

Got to say my LG 47LM620T is the best tv i've owned by a mile, never noticed any of the issues i've read about LG tv's apart from the picture quality when watching footy but that was the same on my previous Sony 37".

Wonder why Panasonic uses LG panels in the LED 3d range if they are so poor quality
never had an Lg plasma ... but my 47lm620 has banding issues... when the screen pans theres horrible vertical lines across the screen, on my 2nd replacement from amazon, think i might just get a refund and downgrade so i can at least watch a game of football properly...sad really as the rest of the hd channels are lovely to watch

Most of Panasonic tv are made in Czech republic. All the led,lcd and plasma screens comes from LG DISPLAY factory in Poland. I work for Panasonic tv designer centre in Cardiff and I know what we testing and making.

You need to submit the price match request and wait for a response (~24 hours) before you buy though

My five year old panasonnic plasma plays footie better than most tvs around at the moment, that's why I'm so reluctant to buy a new one, only want to spend around £600 though, which considering our panni was over £800 five years ago maybe I'm being a bit tight.

5 year warranty...
Nothing wrong with LG, from my experience more reliable than the many duff Samsungs we’ve had and returned over the past 7 years.

Excellent find this, especially with the 5 year guarantee.
I only got this to replace a duff Samsung that is 3 years old and has problems turning on.

People will have good and bad experiences with all brands, mine has been good so far with LG
Can you record to USB with this?

Which model and how old?

I have a 2yr old 42PJ650 (Plasma 42") and I am more than happy with it.

Just the sound that is lacking, somewhat.

It does this on mine but it's not bad enough to bother me, exactly the same thing happened on my sony 37" but wasn't as noticable due to the smaller screen. You're either going to have to go for a plasma or a top end led if it's an issue.

It's not just how reliable the TV is, it's about how much support you get from LG in the event of a breakdown.
My LG to was a duffer and LG did not care even though it was only 17 months old.
This deal has a 5yr warranty so it's a good deal from that point if view .

99% of manufacturers wouldn't be interested out of the warranty period. It's the retailer who's responsible for warranties not the manufacturer, you have 6 years cover under the sale of goods act.
Is the 3D active or passive?
I bought this TV a month back and its really amazing. I first approached John Lewis and told them about the RS offer and they asked me to fill in a form to investigate and came back to me within 48 hours time and asked me to pay the price after discount. So i paid 599 with free delivery and 5 years warranty when I bought it.

Great deal - and as this is the plasma it doesn't suffer from he 24p playback issue that their LCDs have (which make them a stupid buy if you ever watch blue ray).

Heat added, great tv!

Read about these 24p issues on avforums but i haven't noticed any problem on bluray. Maybe it's because i just watch my tv ,not spend all day looking for faults like the people on avforums

Good point , my retailer was Dixons, they told me I'd have to pay £90 upfront before they'd look at it and if, in their opinion, it was a manufacturing fault they would refund the money.
It looks a good deal, especially as John Lewis give you five years guarantee. My current LG plasma has given up this week after 23 months of ownership (I believe its the PSU board). I regret that I didn't get it from John Lewis, or at least from someone offering 5 year guarantee at a reasonable price.

LG will charge £155 + cost of parts to repair. I am thinking the money might be better used being put toward a replacement like this, with a guaranteed five years of cover.
