LG Smart 4k Tv, currently in Currys sale. Seems a good tv for the money, not seen it any cheaper elsewhere.

Good find, however it is £699 at John Lewis with a 5 year guarantee - worth the extra £10 for that I think
RGBW?

Yes : https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/80beb4c

They've really tainted the brand for me. LG now means RGBW.

It's getting worse... even some this year models from 700 or 800 series have RGBW panels

It's 699 at Argos, and I think that's for the newest (2017) model..

If people keep buying these 3k tvs then it will just encourage LG to stick with the crappy rgbw structure. Buy something, anything, else. If on a budget this years hisense models look excellent.
I just picked it up (grade a- so probably open box) for £550 from dcdigitaltv.co.uk/pro…tv/.

I'd never heard of the website before but I figure with cc you've got some protection anyway.
What is rgbw? And what should be the one to get ?
Genuine question, is this tv any good and will it tick all the boxes required to get the best out of an xbox one X

Which is a good 4K tv and which isn't is utterly confusing - is that the correct HDR format, the correct screen technology, ultra 4K or true 4K or real 4K or just 4K? I don't recall it being this confusing when purchasing a CRT tv
55 inch ain't big enough for a chavs bedroom

Best way I’ve found to go about it, after having to cancel and order for an rgbw display... LG of course... is to choose a budget.
If you can’t get a good enough tv for your budget, just wait a little while. Chances are you don’t need it right now.
But when you’re looking for one, a few things to look out for are these... RGB panel, unless it’s OLED are a must, don’t buy RGBW panels unless you want ripping off. Try and find a Native 10 bit display, (not 8 bit with frc) and try and get one with good blacks and high peak brightness.
There are lots of other variables but also... go and try the tv’s out. Find one you’re happy with.
Don’t always rely on reviews as the chances are the person has no more idea about “good” TV’s as you do.
