It's unreal how quickly these are dropping lately. They were £3,499 just last week. Then the 10% voucher became available and now the selling price has dropped £1,000 as well.

It's a pity that the 4k content is limited at the moment, with Netflix possibly being the best option. However, with Sky due to announce their 4k box soon and BT investing heavily in their UHD Sports, this television is about as future proof as you can buy at the moment assuming you want OLED - which most seem to agree is the next big thing.

Pretty poor price. Considering you can get same size Samsung 4K curved TV for under £2k and Samsung is by far a better TV. This is overpriced.

Well for one, the Samsung is curved - I see this as a dying fad.

Secondly, it's not OLED.

Finally, it's FAR from a better TV.
Very tempted at this price, glad I didn't buy it at £3,499!

What facts are your opinions based on, please?
I've got the 55ec930 1080p oled as I'm not fussed about 4K just yet. it's the best picture period once you've set it up properly. Blu-ray's and 1080p content just look amazing. with all the trade ins and price match discounts from John Lewis after originally paying 1799 it's costing £1230 which is a steal considering the picture quality.
This deal definitely deserves more heat
This is a great price/warranty. Expensive as it is genuine new TV tech "OLED", not the nasty "LED" backlit LCD TV's people think are new tech. Perfect black level, with perfect viewing angles. LG finally offering flat screens instead of the silly curved ones. The ONLY problem with this deal is the price will continue to fall...(which is a good thing!)

Why are idiots marking this cold?

It's come down over £1000 in 6 months.

Even though it's an absolute bargain at the current price, I believe a lot of people see it as highly expensive because they don't realise exactly how much better OLED is when compared to LED.

Also, a lot of people compare the price to the price they see various screens at in their local Argos, Sainsburys, Aldi or Lidl.

I suspect that OLED deals like this won't get hot on HUKD until they reach the magic £1,000 price point in about 3 years time.

Until then, only those that understand the technology and appreciate a good quality TV enough to believe that the additional £1,250 is worth it to enjoy the technology for 3 years before the mainstream public jump on-board will vote a deal like this up.

There are over 50 hot votes on this thread now so there's a lot of people on the site that understand that this is a good deal. It just so happens that a higher proportion are hunting for a bargain (poor quality) screen as opposed to something high-end.

I'm using Netflix on my 4 k Panny and is difficult to see the difference between it and 1080i.
Possibly due to the quality of the upscaling.
This is the kind of deal this site was supposed to be made for yet not only is this not getting heat, some people are even taking the time to vote cold???
I know people who paid well over £3000 for this just last week. They are in the process of refusing delivery/returning, or getting refunds so they can re-order at this much lower price.
Maybe this site is now a "give your preference or opinion" website. It doesn't matter if this TV is massively cheaper than last week (or a "hot deal"!!!), just let the "opinion mob" ruin a perfectly genuine deal and get voted cold to satisfy their ego's.
This should be HOT HOT HOT....

Great price drop defiantly a Hot Deal .
As others have said many just don't understand just how much better an OLED TV is compared to a LCD so vote cold ..
The funny thing is, most non-OLED, £500, sets get cold votes and comments related to it not being OLED.

Then a good OLED deal gets voted cold because it's not £500.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.
OP, thanks very much for posting - this looks fantastic! I had no idea it existed until I saw your deal. (Voted hot, obv!)

I agree with you - and the people on The Gadget Show who tested similar TVs - that flat is better than curved. (And makes it easier to justify placing it in my relatively small room.)

Shame it's not on the John Lewis website yet as I buy almost everything from there, but am aiming to get this TV within a few months (unless something better comes along in the meantime) and also intend to buy a good speaker set-up etc.

OP - and anyone else here - do you have this TV?

OLED TV's....... coming soon to Benefits Britain!!!
Does anyone reckon the prices will go up again once the public at large have caught on and the oled bandwagon is fully in motion?

They will likely go up and down, but I don't think LG invested billions with the expectation of recouping that investment by selling £3-5K sets. They want/need OLED to go mainstream, which means these prices will have to become the norm (and drop further over the coming years to be able to shift the increasing production).
Don't forget if you know someone who works for an affiliated company they can get you Gift Cards at a discounted rate, thereby bringing the price lower.

For example NHS staff get 5% off gift cards via the various NHS discount sites. Other company's offer even better discounts to their staff, I've heard some people mention 8% over on AVForums.

And Quidco/TCB offering 1.5%

Hahah! Never even been out on Black Friday. I just personally don't like LG TVs from past experience. Why would I fight over a **** TV like that when I have a 4K Samsung tv already.

I actually have a good knowledge on TVs and I'm into my technology. I didn't say "OLED is terrible quality" etc. I said I prefer Samsung over Lg is simple words which I've had an LG and my Uncle has had an Lg OLED and he got rid of it for a Samsung curved 55inch which he prefers. Never said anything about the quality, just that LG make overall poor TVs that have terrible built in wifi and it doesn't move as smooth through channels or the smart TV side of it. That's my opinion which I'm entitled to, so yes I don't like LG TVs and prefer Samsung as do most my family.

Yea, I don't hang around Internet forums all day of a weekend
Ordered, being delivered 17th Nov. Thank you OP.
Got the 65" version yesterday and it is awesome. No wifi issues and YouTube 4K is superb. Football is amazing on it and it is actually just simply an amazing tv. I have been watching oled since its arrival and have waited patiently to jump in and buy one. Simply superb!
Very good price. I'm tempted, but I'm concerned that if I jump in now it might drop shortly after...

But then again, that's true of most things.

Heat added!
Very hot!

Finally, a flat 4K OLED TV, that's relatively affordable.

This will wipe the floor with any LED LCD set. If you think otherwise you either haven't seen an LG OLED set, or you're kidding yourself. This is the true successor of the brilliant Pioneer KURO sets.

Thanks OP. Might just have to exercise the CC for this one.

i agree that the Oled Tv looks super how ever when you look at the Technology.
Led Tv are Back or Side Lit
Oled is Organic Pixels they call it for me all they have done is Managed to adopt the Technology upto 4k Resolution in a thin frame
This is the same tech as a Plasma so save money buy a Decent Plasma 1080 with an 18Bps cable and you wont see the Difference save a lot of Money............
