cold votes, no good reason?

Hmm don't know, maybe because it's an old model and not a smart TV.? Hot from me. Paid more for 40 LCD Sony 5 years ago

This hot why so many cold votes

strikes me as a bargain - heat added

That's a great 50"...

There are lots of these refurbs kicking around for a reason, when they were a current model lots of people returned them due to bugs and issues. The LM range was plagued with issues, it can't do 24p playback, Judder, skipped frames etc. They would randomly crash, lots of Freeview problems - it would cut the audio and make an ear piercingly loud sequel. . . . . the list is endless.

A new 55LA620V can be had for £799 from John Lewis or Costco with a free Blu Ray player (Costco only) These LM refurbs are best avoided.

Are the LA620V any good? from the reviews I saw they seem good. I bought one on Saturday.

I've seen a lot of forum posts complaining about DSE (dirty screen effect) but this is mainly on the 42" and 47" models. I seen this myself, I was considering buying one in December. I'm currently deliberating between buying a 55LA620 or a 60LA620 - I like LG TV's, find the passive 3D is excellent and the Smart Features, Menu, USB Media Player (will play almost anything) are excellent.

Ok I bought the 55 so I'll keep you posted in about a week or so.

out of my last 4 tv's I think 3 have been LG & 1 Samsung been very happy with the LG, this will be my first passive as the last was an Active Plasma so hope there is not a big reduction in quality, but to be honest for the price difference in glasses and comfort I'm sure I won't mind.

Also looking forward to the Dual Play functionality (even though I seldom play these days)

As for the Smart TV functions they are good but have a full HTPC connected to the TV so just use that now and no longer use the TV for it's Smart function.

Out of curiosity where have you found the 60LA620 and for how much?

I've used both active and passive 3D, we have an Active Samsung Plasma and we've had a couple of 42" Passive LG's and I found some films look far better on the passive than on the active, the start scene of Resident evil Retribution is a good example, it looked okay on the Plasma but jaw droopingly good on the LG. being able to buy the glasses from the pound shop is also a bonus lol. Active will be better for off-angle viewing, with passive you need to sitting directly in front and level with the TV for best results.

the 60LA620 is around £1300, ebuyer have them in stock as do our local Argos. i'll probably lean more towards the 55" - 5 more inches is not really worth £500 lol.
