Looks a good deal, and full of spec.
quidco 1.5%.
Top features:

- 4K Nano Cell screen displays impressively sharp and detailed pictures

- HDR supports the widest colour range currently available on a TV

- Comprehensive Smart functions cover all your catch-up and streaming needs

- Harman Kardon audio delivers improved depth, detail, and overall sound quality

- Dolby Vision

- HLG

- HDR 10

However this is 8+frc bit. Not a deal breaker for me, as this tv is future proof.

Tempted on this. Or do I wait too see if the q7 comes down to 1k. Mmmmmmm

Sounds very expensive for RGBW panel... SJ850V is only bit more

I hadn't realised there was a Q6. Interesting.

The SJ850V just has better speakers doesn’t it?

Proper 4K 10 bit panel in SJ850V... not 8bits + frc RGBW like in SJ810V

I agree RGBW is like 3K and a bit of a con to the consumer. Does the SJ850 not have a RGBW panel?

I'm not 100% sure that's correct. I know what display specifications site says, but I've read (can't find the source now as I'm on my mobile) that the US version of the sj850v is 10 bit but not the UK/EU version. I hope someone else can confirm this.

Looking at buying a new TV and like the look of the 65" version of this, didn't realise HDR 10 could mean 8bit + frc, is that bad? Will it not support some HDR stuff?

Think I going to wait and see. What’s difference between the q6 and the q7 by the way ?

Was all set for the 49 800v for 650 but next to no place has them but this could temp me for the bigger screen! But also like another person said was hoping some of the QLED would come down to about 1k

Just noticed the 49 version of this is going for £599 think I might bite the bullet folks

Yip I have bitten and ordered the 49 inch for £599 was looking at the 800v but this is the same bar the different stand thanks opp for the heads up and let me notice the 49 version

Not the same... 8 bits + frc in 810V, 10 bit panel in 800V

And what kind of difference would this make?

I contacted LG and received this

Hi Darren,

Thank you for your query regarding our 2017 TV's.

I have looked in to this for you and our OLED TV's all have a 10 bit panel built in however our 2017 range of 4K TV's [UJ and SJ range] all have an 8bit panel with an extra 2 added to make the 10 bit. This would be broken down as outlined below:

The 8bit+2 panel uses software to give 10bit colours, so where a 10bit panel will show the colour in question the 8bit + 2 will flash between two colours to give the needed colour. So this would give off the 10 bit effect but it goes about it a different way whereas the OLED panel is a direct route.

I hope my email explains everyt NBC'shing for you, if you do have any further questions please get back in touch.

That's a video provided by Samsung, LG's biggest rival, and is not a balanced overview of the technology.

Basically, the resolution difference isn't noticable unless you're using it really close up (<1m away) and neither is the brightness difference. The colour difference may be but this has a wide gamut backlight which produces more saturated colours than are necessary for SDR, so it may be that the only effect of that is to produce less saturated colours in HDR than a direct measurement says - but HDR colour space coverage varies between models anyway

I'm not sure, the Q6 was a late release a month or so ago and there doesn't seem to have been any tests yet.

The 10-bit in HDR is used for a different range to the one the LCD handles, so it doesn't matter for HDR whether it's a 10-bit or 8-bit + FRC panel.

And what kind of difference would this make?

I just asked the same question on the TV I posted ( the 49 version of this) which say the 800 and 810 are both the same bar the stand at the bottom. Im going with my eyes and the picture on this model looks fantastic. I went for the 49 @ £599 great value for what you get I think

I was in the same boat as you. Was so close to buying the 800 from JL at 650, however saw the 810 today, both look identical bar the stand. I ended up buying the SJ49810v.. All Smiles!

You would need to be a TV Geek to notice the difference..

Just picked up my 65", TV looks great apart from the backlight bleed, oh well.

I picked up the 49 along with the sh4d soundbar down to 130 from 300 TV looks and sounds great and the soundbar takes it to the next level! Very happy with both.
