Dolby vision isn't bad at this sort of money.. Anyone had this for awhile ? Is it any good ?
only had it for 2 days - and I have not had enough time to try much at all- although it only took me a couple of hours to go through the menus to get the screen settings correct as the TV is terrible out of the box!
Thanks for the initial feedback.. the set up and fiddling with it is the fun part.. as long as the picture is good at the end.
I have last year's equivalent so I can't comment directly on this. But the operating system is a joy to use, especially with the magic remote. It's fast, intuative and nice to look at. I think a lot of people forget about this when choosing a TV but it can make a real difference to the enjoyment of actually using the TV. I have a Samsung and an older LG (pre-webOS) and they are not a patch on this.
Picture is pretty good as well once all the 'enhanced' picture modes are turned off

Ask me on Monday, cancelled a different LG just now, to grab one of these at this loony JL price match with amazon price, but with the JL 5 year warranty instead!

I will be putting the new 10th June firmware on it, as soon as I can, maybe in time for the football match, in full glorious real 4K 120Hz UHD via the beeb!

Also, I have seen and tested the newer Alpha 7 version of this TV, but there is no way I am paying nearly £900 more for the same size & guts, when this is now less than £700, keeping in mind that this was a £1400+ TV eleven months ago!

Once all stock has gone on the price match, it will just go back up, as it sells all day long, everyday at £800-900 on average, depending on who has any.
Is this the same TV as the SJ810v?
Cheers OP, just ordered.
Is this a 10bit panel?
The 850 has better speakers .. can't comment on anything else...
Probably get nailed for this question lol .. this or the MU7000

Mu7000 easily
Great set....as long as you watch it in bright daylight. Had two of them. They both went back. Worse black levels than my 4 year old Samsung hdtv. 4k picture in daytime is mind blowing......but be warned.

No matter how much 'fiddling' or 'tweaking' it would not get rid of the issues I was experiencing. Trust me I spent nearly 2 days trying & it was driving me mental. Local dimming settings help slightly, but once your eyes are drawn to the light coming from the edge / bottom of the screen it's game over......

I returned this set too!! 34027165-ckMTk.jpgIt's awful backlight. Only good thing is the sound
MU7000 no good for me, as restricted viewing angles make it a no-no (plus the WebOS on LG is 2nd to none IMO)

Hello again mate. Was initially blown away. But then I watched it the following evening & was devastated. The tv is stunning. I watched the BBC iPlayer 4k feed on the Egypt v Uruguay game earlier today & it was immense. But the backlighting & clouding are abysmal.

I exchanged it today for the Samsung mu7000 100% better screen uniformity and no backlight bieed the bars are nearly black. Ill give it a few days so far definitely impressed compared the LG 850v

Nice one mate. I don't think I could fit that on my tv unit as the leg positions seem to be too wide.

Hey buddy. Yeah sadly the TV only was capable of being great in the day time viewing... The Samsung has 2 feet slots your gonna need at least 110cm TV unit width. I have price match for £649 so £100 cheaper than I payed for the lg850v. Part of me still wants oled tho..

"...you'll need a surface at least 910 x 246mm on which to position the 55MU7000"

Looks much better mate. Couldn't live with the blacks on the LG like. My tv unit is 1050mm wide. I have read there are two positions for the feet. Do you think the 7000 would fit on my unit?

Cheers mate. I'm torn between the best of the led £700 range or go for the LG oled b7 for £1300 from richer sounds. Just concerned about the screen burn on the oled. What a dilemma....

Yeah JL. I can get the LG OLED55B7 from RS for £100 less than anywhere else by using code tv100rs. I might go to Currys tomorrow to look at it on display & see from there (obvs not buy from there though haha)....

I'm same mate. I've been putting the LG b7 oled for sometime and every TV I get just doesn't match them blacks. This Samsung is very good but I know oled will be better but it's double the price and yeah that' potential burn in. Very rare with the 2017 models. I prefer the LG c7 now after seeing them both in Currys.. like I say I'm gonna give this TV a few days
Strange that the 850v should have such bad blacks when the 810 seems fine. Wonder if there’s a difference in the screen.

Best way mate, but you're right it's double the price but is it worth it. I'm not sure. Like the stand on the B but the bezel on the C.....FFS....😁 😁 😁

That's what I fought when I saw the 810v is the shop It looked fine. The style and sound of the LG 850v was nicer so went for that and it was a let down sadly

Haha I prefer the stand to the b7 one after having it on the 850v it's put me off! Oh and good luck getting the screw's out of the stand

Ha ha. Aye flashbacks. Must say I was gutted with the 850v. It's put me right off. Think I'll sleep on it.......
