same price on amazon …same price on amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-55SK8000PLB-55-Inch-Premium-Freeview/dp/B07BRN9YZT/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1536012437&sr=8-1&keywords=lg+55sk8000plb

Doesn't look like the Amazon deal includes the free soundbar though, unless I missed something.
Is the TV any good? It looks like the best 4k TV around £700 I can find

No 5 year warranty. With LG this is a deal breaker for many.
If you already have or don't need a soundbar......£749.00 with Take50 code (Web page states 5 year guarantee)

In many ways, Its a lot cheaper

But seriously, scatter-gun comparisons are really no good unless you define what its primary day to day useage will be for you and what level of specification you expect for your money.

I have two LG TVs - one non-smart at 8 years old, one smart at 6 years old. Both still working great (touch wood!) and never had a problem with either.
Is the soundbar going to be any better than the TV speakers.. the specs don't really suggest it would be.
I believe that a warranty of at least 5 years is essential for LED TV's as in a lot of cases the LED backlights do not last very long.
We have a Samsung TV, on which the backlights packed up at around 4 years and as it was covered by a 5 year warranty it was fixed.
We also have a LG TV, on which the backlights packed up just after it was 2 years old, and now it is useless because its out of warranty.

I have had 5 LG TV's, still have 4 of them.

The oldest one, is one of the first 1080p 3d tvs and is bullet proof.

I had a 65" 4k which lasted 9 months and was refunded by Groupon for backlight bleeding.

My 55" 4k is on its 4th screen and 2nd mainboard.

The other 2 are a 43" 4k and 49" 4k, probably 2 years old and not had any issues yet.

Always opt for the extra warranty when buying LG in my opinion.

40SHOPAO For extra £40 off

Shows coupon expired.
I’ve always had LG and no issues whatsoever. I now own four of them 22” 32” 49” in various rooms. If I’m honest the 49” is excellent but I was lusting after an OLED LG for the World Cup,

However, the OLED models obstinately remained well over my £1000 price point so I had to do a lot more research and finally settled on the Super UHD LG 55SJ850 last January 2018 which I got for a very reasonable £799 via JL with 5 yr warranty.

The SJ has been nothing short of brilliant with the widest viewing angles in the business (a major deciding factor in our wide lounge.) The Super UHD Nano cell technology really makes a diffference over standard LED in my opinion.

This SK appears to be the new 2018 version of the SJ model although I’d check on that to make sure.

It is showing as £1249 on your link to AO but £799 on the Amazon link.

One great upgrade over my model is the full array LED backlights (my model is edge-lit but this is no problem whatsoever.)
If you can get the 2018 model for £799 I honestly wouldn’t hesitate,
