Offering 4k Ultra HD resolution for stunning viewing, the LG 55UF680V Smart 4k Ultra HD 55" LED TV delivers high quality entertainment. It includes built-in WiFi to make connecting to the internet a breeze.

4k Ultra HD resolution

The 55UF680V boasts 4k Ultra HD resolution that packs an impressive 8.3 million pixel onto its 55" screen. This provides you with the best possible detail - up to four times the resolution of Full HD.

The IPS technology means that everyone gets a great view of the screen, wherever they're sitting. It delivers stunning true colour from any angle, so you can enjoy all of your content.

It also includes a 4k upscaler that converts lower resolution entertainment to near 4k standard. It uses a six-step image processing technology to upgrade the images, so you can enjoy everything in high detail.

Feature packed

Because it uses edgelit LEDs, the feature packed UF680V is slimmer and more compact, taking up less space whether you want it mounted to the wall or standing on a unit.

The smaller chassis doesn't mean you're missing out on features though. The UF680V includes Ultra Surround, a clever system of directional internal speakers that gives you the feeling of a full surround sound without adding speakers.

Building on this, the UF680 also has six different sound modes that let you choose the best mode for the content you're watching, choosing from Standard, News, Music, Cinema, Sport & Game to get the best levels.

If you do want to add a sound bar to your TV, the UF680 has Wireless Sound Sync so you can easily pair it with any compatible LG Sound bar for immersive and impressive audio that won't take hours to set up.

Full webOS for smarter viewing

The LG webOS Smart TV platform means that you can enjoy the best internet content on the 55UF680. It provides a whole new way to watch entertainment.

The full webOS platform is easy to use, so you can enjoy simple and intuitive use. Enjoy catch up TV from BBC iPlayer or movie streaming, browse the internet from your sofa or choose from a range of apps.

You can even stream 4k content from providers including Netflix, Amazon Instant Video or YouTube, so you can make the most of the TV's technology.

The UF680V is Magic Remote ready (sold separately), which means that you'll be able to use your TV's Smart features smoothly.

Don't forget your HDMI cables

Check out our range of HDMI cables to connect your input devices and to make sure your new TV has a perfect picture with improved transfer speeds. Look out for the Sandstrom Silver Series HDMI cables with their lifetime warranty.

Enjoy the highest resolution entertainment with the LG 55UF680V Smart 4k Ultra HD 55" LED TV.

Faux 4K panel...

This is a Currys exclusive model and therefore no John Lewis price match, and that's why Currys have these exclusive models.

2 x hdmi ports on a 55 inch screen what a waste

Any have the 43inch version? Trying to find out how wide the legs are, not sure it will fit on my stand. Also are these OK for gaming?

I only need one hdmi. I'm sure many are the same (I have six going into my av receiver)

It's a way to keep the costs down and not necessarily a problem given many will connect their kit via an AV amp so only a single connection would be needed to the TV.

cash for goals with this?

Nar, needs to be above 699

HEAT!

Brilliant model, nearly at that magical sub £500 which would make it the lowest cost 55" 4K pc monitor
to boot as well ;-)

Tip:
Suggest anyone buying this, prior as in before switching it on and connecting it to all your devices
and routers and gadgets etc etc, to download the latest firmware with all the fixes 1st, then boot
directly from it and have a nice factory clean install to work with as the firmware has had 3 updates
since last year ;-)

Should be advertised as 3k

Shane not enough hdmi ports

Not everyone uses a receiver, a lot of people just want a TV to have more than 2 HDMI ports, if you check most other 55" 4k all have 3+

Even my cheap 42" blaupunkt from 2 years ago has 3 not 4k but still. Is it really that cost expensive to give more than 2, with so many devices now coming with HDMI

Try saying that when you've had too much to drink.

Seems self explantory from what I read >

"they’re built with so-called ‘green’ display panels which use a different pixel pattern and fewer display driver circuits, which means they only provide around three quarters of 4K resolution."

3/4 of something that should be 4/4 isn't 4/4 therefore it's not 4/4 therefore it's faux for 4K's sake!

So this is no better than say a Hisense or other cheapo brand?

Depends if the HiSense use faux panels or not. HiSense are a large brand actually. They have $15billion revenue.

My point was not everyone needs more than 2. An av receiver is highly recommended but you can also get hdmi switches for £10 or so, far nicer for cable management too.

Amazing ... Heat Added

The Hisense models that are due in any day at richer sounds are head and shoulders above this LG.
Like the chap said, this is not actually a 4k tv.
The Hisense range for 2016 most definitely are.
At £599 this TV is not that badly priced, but it is very under spec'd for 2016.

In my humble opinion...
1).You really should be looking at quad core, not dual core.
2). You really need HDCP 2.2 hdmi ports, (probably 3 of them).
3). Netflix compatible.
4). Peace of mind 5 year guarantee.

That is very probably true,
But the prices of the new Hisense models are probably head and shoulders...and a lot more, above the £599.00 cost of the television in this deal

Yes, this is garbage, but you'll get a lot of people coming on and defending them because they bought this set and just want others to suffer the same fate.

If you want a great set, then the UH range is top notch, obviously more bucks than this, but has HDR and better screen, motion etc. Even the Sonys and Panasonics would be better.

Don't be persuaded to buy this, its a model that LG want to forget about fast, hence the drop in price.

Bring on the trolls who own this Tv

You are very right, the manufacturers are off loading out dated spec tv sets (like this one), since the UHD alliance confirmed the criteria for the 4k UHD logo sticker.

Many wont! Massive problem for me... And a deal breaker!...

You'll get one update then nothing. LG left me with a then flagship £1700 machine and moved onto the next model.

Good products, bad company.

So is this a proper 4k and is it better than this.

I am looking for a 55" tv and cant seem to find anything better than this HiSense. I am wondering if I should wait till the Euro's start next month and see of there are any stonking deals around then.

Edited by: "kikboy" 6th May 2016

I would wait till the footy kicks off my friend, or thereabouts.
Footy tournaments always bring big telly deals out of the shadows.

Not a great set by any stretch. If you can't afford a good 4K tv then buy a good HD tv instead of buying a rubbish 4K tv at the same price. Currys have loads of these that haven't sold since black Friday when everyone was buying Sony or Samsung. They are trying their best to get staff pushing this on customers who haven't done their research.
