RGBW is terrible.

Better off with the Samsung or Hisense. At least they actually reach their advertised resolutions!
Excellent price. But just a heads up, this TV has the worst viewing angles of all! Picture is very dark & unclear, if you're not sitting right in front of tele and in line - I would suggest checking this out in a retail store nearest you, check the picture from various viewing angles & compare it to other TVs in the shop

I would sell it via Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace

Some Excellent Budget 55inch TV's currently on Amazon at their lowest prices.
Tough choice between this LG, the Hisense @ £399 and the Samsung @ £449
I went for this over the other 2 because I wanted Freesat and bluetooth to connect to my wireless speakers.
32946928-ioCyR.jpg£403 via Amazon Warehouse if you want to risk it.

RGBW displays only have an effective resolution of 2.8K instead of 3.84K horizontally.

Facebook's the best, IMHO.
I’m very Happy with mine. One thing is the stand. Unless you’re going to wall mount you’ll need a very bigtabl
So tempted!
Are the Hisense or Samsung that much better?
We have a HD LG and we are really happy with the quality of the pictures.
Much more than we are with our SONY.

Dont mean to jump on a post but whats people opinions of the lg 55uj651v.

I don't know what other people will tell you because they'll just cry about it being RGBW but I bought one about 2 months ago for £630 (moved to my own place and wanted a new TV asap) from Argos. It was displayed alongside a Panasonic EX700B (at £700) and a sony TV for £800. When I was there I will say to my eye the Panasonic looked the best but I could see some noticeably distracting motion blur so decided against it. I went with the LG because the picture quality is amazing and got an extra 5" for a lower price. It's a fantastic TV the only thing I don't really like about it is the edge lighting, it can get pretty distracting in dark scenes but it allows the rest of the scene to have stunning contrast. I don't regret my purchase but I wish I would have saved up more to get something more in the 1k+ price range because those qleds look stunning.

Not much difference between that & this. 651 has one more HDMI port & maybe the stand's different, but that's really it. Viewing angles are very dire on the 651, too.

Hate to tell you that the 651 isn't edge lit, AFAIK, it is direct led lit?
I’m looking for a 4K HDR TV in order to use with a PlayStation 4 Pro - would this TV fit the bill? I’m confused between HDR and UHD!!

This shows why looking at them in the showroom isn’t the be all and end all. I’m not saying it’s a bad TV but look at any review or onto AVForums, you won’t find anyone choosing an IPS LG TV over a Panasonic, Sony, Hisense with a good VA panel. Not unless you need the wide viewing angles an IPS gives you.

No issues here at all, I have a big front room and needed to upgrade for the very reason we needed to be able to see it from anywhere we sat, it looks excellent no matter what angle you look at it.

Return it and tell them it randomly switches off after a few hours.

They will take it back and send it back to whom they baught from in bulk.

Then purchase this.

Exactly right, shops tend to have a signal split between XX Tv's none of them calibrated correctly and under irregular lighting.

But if he's happy with with non-4K TV cause Baz down the pub said it was the best he'd seen, then who are we to argue?

Enjoy that 3K experience with RGBW champ!

I've got a dilema

do I go for a 49UJ750V or a Panasonic 50ex700 - both been offered to me for £500?

or do I go for something else?

When I had this, I noticed some motion blur and this was only 60Hz I think. Better off waiting for a deal on the LG 800v/810V, as they both have 120HZ refresh rates & less input lag, AFAIK

I had a very bad experience with the 43" 630V with the viewing angles and returned it in the end. I recently checked one of these and the 651V (just to double check) in a RS store and still reached the same conclusion. These LG tvs were just underneath a Samsung MU6400 tv and the picture appeared so dark and unclear when viewing from a side angle and the Samsung was still bright & clear.

Cold for me it's not that smart it can't even make me a cuppa tea pfft!
I've been following these TV deals all week and got to see the Samsung UE55MU6400 in John Lewis yesterday and it looked so good I was about to jump in: hotukdeals.com/dea…324

But is it really worth £170 more than this?
So I ordered the Hisense is this worth the upgrade or another in the same price range?
