The LG 55UM7400PLB 55" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV has an IPS 4K display so you can watch your favourite shows in vibrant details and vivid colours. Take in the beauty of nature with BBC's latest documentary series, or switch on a blockbuster, and see how even fantastical characters look clear and realistic.

4K Active HDR

The UM7400 takes HDR even further with adaptable advanced HDR which adjusts each image so you always get the best contrast and the richest colours. Even older favourites get upgraded to the HDR levels – classic dramas never looked so good.

Smart webOS

There's always something on TV with the UM7400. LG's webOS is packed with apps to keep everyone happy. Catch that must-see comedy series from Channel 4, settle down for a Netflix boxset bonanza in 4K, or rent a movie from the Sky Store.

And with Freeview Play you can leap right in from the TV guide. Catch up on anything you might have missed by scrolling back through the week.

ThinQ and Google Assistant

If you get yourself an LG Magic Remote (sold seperately) you can talk to your TV and use voice commands to do all sorts of exciting controls. ThinQ AI makes finding something to watch a little easier. Ask your TV to play a film on Netflix, switch on the news, or turn up the volume.

And with Google Assistant you can do even more. Check your calendar, get weather info, and much more. All you need to do is ask.

Bought this for £429 from Richer Sounds in September 2019... I'm by no means an expert on TVs but they recommended this one to me, I've never owned any high end TVs to compare to but I can't fault it, watch Netflix/Amazon prime on it and the picture looks great to me, easy to navigate, has a game mode which switches on automatically when you start a game up and reduces input lag. Did have to play around with the colours a little bit to get it right. For this price it's a steal!
Doesn't come with a magic remote but you really don't need it as you can download a free app on your smartphone 'LG TV Plus' and your phone turns into a magic remote so you can use your phone keyboard to search stuff, change volume, turn on and off, change apps/channels etc. Even use it as a cursor although it's very sensitive on a phone screen.

Most users probably will not notice it for a number of reasons primarily due to sub 4K content or 4K content recorded in slightly less quality and it also depends on how far you sit from the TV too of course. For this price, it can suit alot of people.

Have you read a review which suggests this panel does this?

Having seen one personally, I'd never pay for one of these pseudo-4Ks. You can get proper 4K for decent money.

I might be mistaken but I don’t think the 7000 series uses RGBW?

Rtings looked at the 7300 and said it uses regular RGB.

Although I’m not totally sure if 7300 and 7400 use the same panel?

This is the problem - it's nigh on impossible to find out whether it's not really 4K until you've bought it. LG don't advertise the fact.
Thank you for sharing! We were looking at a very similar LG TV this weekend. On comparison they are incredibly similar in specs, so we have just bought this one and I managed to redeem £25 in Nectar points so ended up costing £294.20!
No brainer at £319 for a 55" smart TV. Jeez we were paying over £500 not long ago for crappy 32" panels.

Some very churlish comments from those knocking it, bit of perspective needed.
Took delivery of one of these yesterday (free next day delivery, thanks Hughes!) and I'm very happy with it. A quick Google of picture settings and you can get a pretty nice picture out of it. For the price, I'm certainly not complaining.
