Product information
A riot of colour

Elegant and packed with clever features, the LG 55UM7450PLA 55" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV makes movie nights even better. With a 4K display and True Colour Accuracy, you'll see the full spectrum of colour in life-like detail. Nothing washed out, and no colour banding. Just an all-round stunning picture.

And with Active HDR, the TV remasters each scene as it plays to display rich colour and vivid detail, exactly as the producers intended. It's great for gaming too, making the games you love look more real than ever.

ThinQ AI

No more navigating from one menu to the next. With ThinQ AI, you can ask your Magic Remote to find the show you want to watch. Simply say “Play Breaking Bad on Netflix” or “Turn off after this episode” and your TV will take care of it.

And with Google Assistant, you can control your smart lighting and manage your schedule from your LG UM7450 TV as you watch. Ask "how long will my journey to work take?", or "dim the living room lights", and your TV will respond straight away.

Ultra-surround sound

Place yourself in the best seats on match day, the heart of a tense battle scene, or the front row of a gig. DTS Virtual:X places certain sounds where they would naturally occur, creating a realistic 3D listening experience that brings you closer to the action on screen.

Endless entertainment

You'll never run out of things to watch, listen to or play on the LG UM7450. There's a huge range of streaming services, including Netflix and Prime Video, so you never miss the shows you everyone's talking about. And with Freeview Play, you can easily catch up with any show that's been on TV over the past week.

How does this compare to the equivalent samsung from last year ? Is this equivalent to the ru7400?
Only a 50hz motion rate though. Isn’t that low compared to some of the others I’ve seen posted where they say even 60hz isn’t that good?
Does anyone know the difference between this model and the one in the link.

I have this exact size and model, can confirm. And mine cost a few quid more. Well worth it though.
This price makes me feel a bit stupid for just spending a grand on the same size TV by Samsung

Only difference I can see after using the compare feature in the LG site is that this model has 3 HDMI ports, where the 7610 has 4. Apart from that, I see no difference

Not Richersounds but John Lewis have the Hisense H55U7BUK for £449 and was mentioned on here last few days. Seems to get good reviews and for the money not much comes close

No need to apologise. Perhaps you had an earlier model years ago and it had faults. I would check out Google reviews and the tv you are thinking about see what the reviews on many different websites say. It seems AO, Richersounds the reviews for every tv are brilliant and that cannot be the case

Expert Bright and/or Dark room look most realistic to my eyes. Avoid Vivid at all costs a it blows out any detail in the highlights.

Turn off all ECO settings. They always make the screen look dim. I personally turned off all motion smoothing too.

Thank you for your helpful reply, appreciate you taking the time to give me some useful information
Is this a ips panel? Any good for gaming?
After months of trying to convince myself of getting a bigger LG than my 49 3d smart, I just can't seem to let go of it, I can't find any fault whatsoever other than the fact the size and the age of it.

Not the exact same model but close enough and should give you a starting point for picture settings etc.

I use this TV for my Xbox one X and it can output 120hz.
I have a Samsung also and I can honestly say this is head & shoulders above similar priced samsung TVs.
This was on a few weeks back and had a double discount code stack, I managed to get it for £348. Seems a really good tv, the 7450 model comes with the smart remote which is definitely worth the extra few quid 🏼
Bargain!
This or the Samsung RU7470? I got the Samsung for around the same price but now thinking to return for this...
I have this tv. I love it!

I bought this on a currys sale a couple of months ago for a little less. It's absolutely amazing, the UI is very crisp and responsive, plus the magic remote is on a whole other level of awesome, you feel like a god

It's a 60Hz panel like all lower end TV's
Wish something sub £500 with 100/120hz and a 10 bit panel would pop up from JL, RS or Costco 😁👌
