Thats a lot of inches for the price! :O
Still £800 though, not Exactly cheap for old tech?
How cheap would you expect a 60" Plasma with Freeview HD to be then?
old tech? you mean current tech, these are going to be around for years to come, OLED is far to expensive and Smart TVs are too dear too, add a thirty quid dongle to this and your about there anyways, for this price this TV is a STEAL, i only wish i had enough on my Argos card to get the bloody thing, ill have to stick to my 50" and get better specs!!!!

heat!
defo heat...
muchos heat!
bargain
its only cheap if you need it not want I will stick with professional Philips I have had for six years cost nine hundred rrp two grand from comet auctions sadly no more ,What is the feedback on this picture quality customers who would buy again I would not even look at LG for quality!!!
A great price, if it had FreeSat I would've went for it.

You have a 60" philips from 6 years ago!? That must be huuuuge!
I have the 3D version of this set and it's awesome. Sub £800 is a great price for this set, if you are in the market for a 60 incher, look no further. This is the one to buy.
This TV was £745 last year. Very cold. Look on Avforums for more information

More surprised that something made by Philips has lasted 6 years.

Time for that time machine that gets used around here so often.

£798
Considering you could get the Smart/3D/BuiltIn WiFi version for £100 more, is expect this to be cheaper

Where from?

Even the power consumption isn't bad for a 60" Plasma at 183w
LG? Better to avoid...
good price
you know what some right old bo!!ock$ gets typed on here at times everyone is a A class actor who is a film critic, who can sing better than the chilli peppers, who have more tech knowledge than world wide company hold on just going to snigger at all you idiots who just come on here with the negative half empty glass.
The trouble is that LG will leave you cold without software updates. I know, I have a 2009/10 LG50PK990 top of the range (then) flat glass panel with dual HD freeview/freesat etc. 1 update and then **** all. The thing was rrp around £1900 (I paid £800).

That said, until you have a tv which is essentially a pc where you can download any app you want, you might as well get after market stuff like WDTV and not bother with cutting edge TV features.
Would live this but have no room for it! Could throw out all the furniture ...........

my samsung D8000 (a top of the range 2011 panel) has had at least 10 updates to the software, in fact there was an update this very week, so they are still supporting a 2 year old model with updates.

LG imo are a middle end brand much like sony, whereas panasonic and samsung are high end now and have been for a few years. therefore this isn't going to be a high quality panel, but a budget panel with decent electronics driving it. LG manufacture for a lot of the budget brands who use crap electronics.

if you want quality Panasonic plasma's are the best, samsung though usually have much better offers on and they have come on a long way. therefore i always go for panny or samsung plasma's.
I have an LG 'Smart' TV, Got it free with my Nexus 4 from O2. And to be honest it's not that smart anyway. One thing I notice is how reliant the basic functions of the TV are on the smart (sluggish) GUI. Makes me wonder about how long these kind of TV's last. Is my entire TV going to become useless if the little computer dies? Probably.

Personally I think you're better off with a TV like this with standalone device for smart functionality, such as an Android TV box, Apple TV 2 etc.
lol@Philips
Can't believe someone in here mentions Samsung and Panasonic as high end brands lol

I must be well out of the loop. What are all these brands that are more high end than those two?
Other than perhaps Sony I can't think of any TV manufactures that are more high end. *confused*

you won't find a better TV than Panasonic's 2013 ZT model plasma and that is a fact, before that it was the last gen pioneer kuro who stopped manufacturing tv's many years ago.

therefore they are at the top of the high end, you cannot get any higher, samsung are just below them.

if you mention the word bose in the high end tv market then your a trumpet, they make fairly mid end products and then add some fancy crap on top, then charge a ludicrous amount for it, if i ever seen anyone with any bose product apart from in a car they would automatically lose my respect.
Yeah but is it colour?
Good deal.
Personally my philips Tv has lasted me years and the LG optimus phone that I had was never updated and broke within a year so I personally steer clear of LG...just chippin in on the philips products
