Also had a new panel after 2 months due to dead pixels. Had to buy my boy a full motion mount so he can move it to face him wherever he sits in his room.

To be fair if you want large TV's for peanuts then don't be expecting quality, nor top specs. People these days expect lots for little money; they're living in a dream land. You get what you pay for.

I don't think it is a bad deal. Will put it on my shortlist. Current TV has issues now

Look up the sanus f180c-b2. It's not about buying cheap, lg are the problem. My oled needs a new panel due to image retention too.

Not really, I paid £1350 for an oled that needs a new panel.
Well, no idea about your OLED, could be many reasons for it failing. Just because you paid that for an OLED, it doesn't mean quality. You're buying into a new sort of tech, so it has a premium slapped on it right away. The rest of the innards could be sub par, who knows.

So it plays horror movies very well!
snatch_master06/04/2019 13:50

Sure does

Does it have that feature where if you are watching a horror movie & you can't look you just sit a few centrum to the side so you can't see the pending gore.

Nah the wierd local dimming distracts you in that it's in big thick bands, it really is a poor tv.
I was going to tile the bathroom but now I think I will use this instead.
Any1 know how good the sports is on here?

Lack of 10 bit panel, poor colour accuracy and rubbish blacks you can excuse at this price

What you can't excuse is LG selling an RGBW panel as a 4k TV - this TV isn't capable of producing a 4k colour image. Misleading and inaccurate.

With regards to me previous comments about the atrocious side viewing angles, I just love the description on the LG 2019 range of TVs............

"This means that the colour accuracy remains virtually unchanged over a 60-degree viewing angle. Finally, everyone in the room can enjoy the highest quality images."

The use of the word "finally" suggests previous models are as I have confirmed. Terrible when viewing from the side.

That said though, I've had this side by side with my OLED running the same 4k HDR clip off YouTube and sat directly in front of it, the picture is actually not that bad, especially as both TVs I have are 55" and one was 1/3 the cost of the other.
