Push that finger, remember its extra 10 inches diagonally so makes a significant size increase compared to what 10 inches actually sounds.

Well I thought 10" is not much more for increase in price of £800-900 over the price of the 55" but someone pointed out that its the increase in diagonal size which equates to 40% more viewing area!

If you are no more than 6-7 feet away from the Tv then a 55" will be fine, allowing you to see the UHD detail over full HD. If its more then better to get the 65" which is why I went bigger.

Oops twisterteddy pipped me at the post

I'll be about 8.5ft from the screen, so that's why I was thinking 65" is the way to go. I'm going to remeasure up tonight then decide. I've had the magic "ok" from the Mrs :-)

Make a template out of cardboard with the TV measurements .. I did with about 9 beer boxes taped together and boy it was too big .. well too big and our room is approx 13ft by 13 ft so I bought the 55" .. I may stretch to 60" in the future should they ever decide to make one.
I stuck two squares of paper on the corners of my current Sony 55" taking it up to 65" lol

Wife and daughter thought I had lost it.
serious question as I can't decide on now the prices are at this point

this or the 65c8 (£600 more with cashback)

Don’t delay, these are the last remaining B7s and they will go quickly at this price. Ask those of us who missed out on the recent John Lewis B7 deal...

As for size, my biggest regret with my last TV was not going 65”. 55” seems like enough to begin with, but you quickly realise how much fine detail you’re missing out on at typical sofa distance. Every inch matters at 4K.
C865 can be had for £2399 after cashback so £400 even.

with a 5/6 year warranty? I couldn't find one at that price with the warranty length
Quick question...can you get this one from Currys at £2,299 and then get £500 off with the LG promotion? (making it £1,799?)

No, that one is not included in the promotion, it's just some of the newer 2018 models
Best tv I’ve ever owned!!
Meh can't get around the silver bezel, it really ruins the look.
Pitty the 65 CV's dont really exist anymore, Richersounds and Currys are OOS and not getting anymore (I phoned them)
Shame....

Great picture etc, but the TV schedule and record function is useless and slow. Plus mine's just been repaired with sound dropping out to my AVR and Wi-Fi drop-out. New motherboard and Wi-Fi addaptor has hopefully fixed the problem.
Also, the 5GHz Wi-Fi is rubbish, very eratic, I had to disable the 5GHz band on my router for this TV even though it's only 4 metres from the router with a single brick wall between them. I do get around 60mbps on the 2.4 band, so not a total loss.

What ever you do, get an extended warranty.

Yes I still prefer the look of the E7 with the picture on glass.
Yep Crompton and Moore and Peter Tyson. Both 5 years.

I got richer sounds to price match Peter Tyson, I didn’t think they would as RS offer 6 year warranty vs PT 5 year, but they not only matched it with the extra year but knocked £50 off as part of price beat.
Do you know if you still qualify for cashback? I heard some people have problems when claiming when doing a pricematch.

Bought, used and now loved, worth every penny at this price
hmm don't think it'll go lower right? By black friday time this set will be sold out everywhere...

decisions...
Just ordered and heat added
this is so freaking tempting
Incredible price for an incredible TV - the lowest ever for a 65" OLED I think? As far as I could tell lowest it went (inc 2016 models) was ~£2200

Haven’t heard that myself, can’t see why when they’ve just matched another retailer also in the promotion.

Have you updated the firmware since the board was replaced? Someone else who had the same problem had the board replaced only to find the issue came back once updated to the latest firmware. On mine the issue was only with Dolby Digital +.
couldnt resist, pulled the trigger, buy now pay over 10 months without interest
Does anyone think the newer models will reach this price by black friday?

No way lol, these B7 65's only went below £2k this month, once with the John Lewis price match and here. They will sell out pretty shortly, I phoned Richersounds yesterday and they said they don't have much stock left and they wont get anymre.

Well I've decided not to buy.
I really cant get around the silver bezel, its ugly and detracts from the viewing experience.
I taped a small section of black tape to my dads B7 yesterday night to see how it looked, it got rid of the bezel problem and it looked neat from the front, but looks stupid when you look close at it.
I would be regretting buying every time I look at the TV.
Will wait for the C8 to drop enough which will be next year most likely.
Oh well - small plasma is here to stay for a while longer.
Least my Plasma is a decent little performer, the brightness has faded quite a bit since I got it (5 years ago from Richersounds) but its still putting out great black levels.

Unlikely this price, but given you can already get a C8 for only £400 more, maybe a shade over 2k is a possibility then. I've decided to wait and get a C8 then (hopefully).

I'll sit on the wall with ya until Sept.
I have been humming and arrrring and reading articles like mad, since the B6.
Then they got rid of 3D
Then I missed the sale and they ran out
Then I missed the crazy cashback offers and discounts of E7's
Now I sit and ponder if I should stick with my 51 Samsung plasma and see what the E9's bring....lol

Quite right. I missed that

I ended up buying the 65B7- hopefully won’t regret it but I already talked myself into the 65 over the 55 so I had to draw a line....
