Bought this for 69.99 off Amazon, thought that a good deal
And it's been great Upgrades ordinary dvd's too - had "Undiscovered Country" on, and the make up on Kirk and Spock was hilarious - caked on ! Never noticed it before using the disc on this Bluray player !

Any chance this has got iPlayer?

I take it anyone cannot get a trade card?

I can't see this on the mail... do you have a link or scan?

It's on the current mail @ £54.99.

Sorry about picture quality, took it with phone because scanner not set up. I'm pretty sure this player has IPlayer as well, but i'm not 100% sure.

Well it can play MKV files from usb stick or external hd and the usb stick can be formatted to fat32 and it can play any size MKV files, they are not restricted to the 4gb limit other players require

Does this, or any other device, apply upscaling to anything other than dvds?.
For example standard def' video from USB stick or hard-drive?.
And a largely unrelated question (with your permission):
I've been told that PS3 owners can rent full hi def films from lovefilm over the interweb, is this true?.
Even if it is though, I assume I'd need cable or something better than my old ADSL broadband :-(
Good price for this player regardless.

What does it matter if it can't upscale, your TV has to do it to fit your panel's resolution and will do a damn sight better job than this 50 quid player.

I'm very pleased with my £69.99 version - £10 cheaper is a great deal.
This has an ethernet connection for BD live and will automatically download firmware updates. No other ethernet functionality unfortunately; but it is quite a good media player despite that.

I think you meant to say the HD / USB can be ntfs format and don't need to be formatted fat32.

Just picked mine up from Macro... so hot from me!

Thanks!

Similar to the Sharp Blu Ray player they had about a year ago for £50. And this player is sure to be better. Heat added.

Bought one of these yesterday as none of the tesco's near me had the other deals on here in stock.
The load times and picture / sound quality are great.
The only thing I would say is if you are going to do the update do it via a usb stick as it takes forever over ethernet (set it going then ran a bath had the bath got dried and it was still only about 46% so downloaded it on laptop from lg website in about 2 minutes)
Definately worth it for me as my ps3 (old larger type) was so noisy (fans) when watching blu ray that I had to have the volume way too high and also the ps3 seemed to go very loud and then quiet during movies.
