I was looking for a Blu Ray player with wireless internet and this seemed like a good deal. £6.80 postage but still not a bad price, especially with Quidco.

Access to Netflix, Vudu, CinemaNow, YouTube, Pandora, Picasa, AccuWeather, BBC iPlayer, Acetrax, Google Maps, Facebook, Twitter and an internet radio app.

I've just priced the films up on play.com (nothing on telly) and they come to £59.95 so £70 for a bluray player with wireless internet is hot from me

£116 with quidco

Can I steam stuff from my nas system or pc to this aswell then?

Where does it say the LG BD565 is wireless? Reading up on that model its says its not wireless, looking for blu ray with wifi to stream from my pc for £100 or under and the LG BD565 you mention for £91 would be great.

Great deal and voted hot but the sony bds370 is the only way to go at £99!

The LG BD565 Blu-Ray player is NOT wireless - you will need an ethernet lead!

Several reviews online state this does have Wifi.. !!
bluray-players.net/lg/…ew/
"You also have built-in high speed 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity. This makes it very convenient to stream HD movies from VUDU or CinemaNo"

Voted cold as it's pixmania

Are you sure this does iPlayer? There's no mention on the product page and according to avforums LG have said they don't plan on introducing it (although that was a few months ago.)

Listed as being DLNA compliant which means you should be able to stream movies, music to it:

Full HD 1080p Blu-ray Disc playback
1080p upscaling of standard DVDs for better picture quality
Online streaming media services include Netflix, Vudu, CinemaNow, YouTube, Pandora, Picasa, AccuWeather
Built-in Wi-Fi
DLNA-compliant, allowing you to stream music, photos, and videos from a connected PC
USB 2.0 Media Host to display photos, play videos and listen to MP3 files

hot,hot,hot !!!

I went for this deal at Blockbuster for the LG BD550 with Toy Story 3, Robin Hood and 10 half price film rentals for £90.

blockbuster.co.uk/pro…htm

Free delivery as well so seems like a better bargain all in all I'd say.

I don't advise steaming any electronics, it's not very safe tbh.

I can confirm the Bd570 also the BD390 and the LG BX580 will both stream from a NAS, personally I prefer playing from an ext hdd as all these can play NTFS formatted HDD you can play mkv's +4gb files no problem. Just finished watching a 8.68gb 1080p file flawlessly. Love the LG machines for what they do and the PQ and upscaling of SD dvds are good as well,

Have found if you stick to the common files available in 720 or 1080p, x264, profile 4.1 and DTS 5.1 sound they will play all the time

HATE Pixmania, but a good deal...ish, but inspired by NastyJim's suggestion treated myself and went with a Sony BDP-S370 ...however it does require an additional stupid Sony only USB wireless dongle to get it working on WIFI (but will plug it into my HomePlug via Ethernet instead).

That is a very good question....I originally saw it on the Dixons website which does state it comes with 5 films. I would think as they are the same people and the picture shows the 5 films that it is what you would get but if you are concerned about it then order from Dixons.

Good point. Not splitting hairs here but AFAIK they seem to be simply shown along the player with no reference whatsoever to them being included as part of a bundle.

I would be very concerned indeed looking at their reputation. Dixons it is then...at least it's stated.

Yes it does include films and yes you get BBC iplayer on netcast (need to run update for the 9 new apps added Nov 2010). I had no problems with Pixmania but my order didn't track in quidco. I too thought about getting the sony s370 but I didn't want the dongle sticking out of the machine and the price was alot higher than it is now. The LG is a great machine and their internet software is great and I have read they are making it even better in 2011. Great price, heat added.

Can anyone recommend a similar player but with built in 5.1 amp to replace an existing Sony 5.1?

LG are updating their media content but using Plex.
It will be on new TVs and media players.

Don't know if they'll add Plex to current machines but Plex does look good.
google it.

Will this play divx files from a usb stick and will it play ordinary dvds?
I know its all old tech but until i get my head round streaming from my pc which i have no idea how to do yet i'd like to be able to do it the old way

Good price

Is the Iplayer only available on BD570? I have Bd390 and BX580 and seen nothing yet for Iplayer. Is it available through new firmware updates from LG?

Although I love these machines for what they do, the only frustrating thing is lack of iplayer if they have added this just improves it even more imho

Dixons and Pixmania are the same people

Contacted Pixmania, there are no bundled movies. Pointed out the picture with the movies - they don't care. I said I will report then to the ASA - they said go ahead, so I did.
