Found 4th Dec 2013
This Blu Ray player was at this price last week but only available for purchase in-store. The deal is now available on-line and can be collected with their click & collect service at your local Asda.

This LG Blu-Ray player is not the most recent model but gets good reviews and always gets pretty hot when it appears on HUKD.

For this price and at this convenience its a real deal.

For a cheap Bluray, good price but no known way to make region free.

In store too, local one to me had a full end dedicated to this player.

I got this yesterday from Instore

Plays USB files?

Sorry, thought this was in-store only so didn't bother clicking into the deal as that would've just brought me to the Asda homepage.

The picture quality of Blu Ray will be noticeably better than what a DVD can offer. In almost all instances the picture quality of your existing DVD's will be improved through a Blu Ray player as a result of something called up-scaling.

Although it's worth pointing out that you'll only see the benefits it you have a High Definition television, preferably something with 1080p Full HD.

It's full HD. If you have an HD TV then the picture will be four times better than a DVD. You'll need to buy blu ray films though. This will play your old DVDs though and will also improve the picture of those.

if your big into your movies then id say ye for sure. its a good price to start with. Blu-Ray movies are on offer a hell of a lot more than DVD movies are. and you will still be able to play DVDs all the same.

Thanks all. We have a full HD tv so would be worth it then. Thanks for all your helpful advice.

Link says page isn't working and when you search on Asda Direct homepage the lowest they sell is £50.
Maybe OOS?

This isn't live stock info, so while you can order it may not be in-stock at the store.

That's the answer to the question I was going to ask! More often than not the cheap players are easier to hack, and I'm on the lookout for another one since my ebuyer special is on the blink! The search continues!

Does ASDA bill your card now or do you pay on collection? Also noticed on the email it says price subject to change without notice you pay the price at current time of collection or delivery.

Picked one up from Feltham Asda. Very small player with a great picture.
Very happy for the price I paid.

Looks like a great price - hot!

Anyone know if it's multi region?

I have this. Bought from Amazon for about £50. It's an excellent little player if you can live with its drawbacks. It's not smart and it isn't region-free but it plays more file formats from USB (from 2GB sticks to 2TB HDDs) than a dedicated Sunvision media player I bought (which I've since sold because the LG made it redundant). Plays mkv, mp4, avi, wmv video formats and I think I'm right in saying it also plays flv files - though I'd have to double check that with a USB stick. What amazed me most is that it also handles .flac (lossless) audio files without any fuss.

We bought this for £50! This is a bargain!

Just as a heads up, the 'Page no longer exists' seems to only appear on mobile versions of the site so if you're on phone / tablet make sure to to select 'View full site' at the bottom of the ASDA page and click the HUKD deal link again to open the correct page. Cheers

Why would you waste money on discs? Buy a cheap portable harddrive 1tb for £50 and store maybes 100 films on it, with full 1080p ;-)

Plenty in my local, not sure if this is the norm but there is no hdmi lead included.

nice and cheap for the bedroom thanks

Aw I was too late

If this item is viewed on a phone or tablet you will most likely get 'page not found'. The offer is still live but you must use a full computer browser it seems.
