Update 2
Crampton and Moore have removed their code. You can use TV100 at RGB Direct, however, this code may not last long as they seem to be the last electronics retailer offering the £100 off code on the C9.

Update
RBGDirect are also offering a £100 off code. They are also including two 4k Blu-rays.

Original post:
I got a C9 on Tuesday for only £1,129, from RS by using their Price Beat against the PRC offer (£150 off code). So I know this isn't as good an offer and you may be best to wait.

I am still keeping an eye out incase anything better comes along within 7 days so I can get an even better price from RS, since they still match 7 days after purchase.

I've seen some mention the code for £100 off is not working. Currys started this over the weekend and many others followed suit. RS had a £100 off code which was supposed to last until Apr 30th, but it has been removed from their site and doesn't work anymore. However, I've just noticed that the code at Crampton & Moore is still working (see screenshot), this is good as RS will beat it by £20, giving you a price at £1,179.

I don't see any information regarding how long this code will last. If anybody knows let me know and I'll add an expiry date.

Can't see it. The B8 is still around £999. Though you can get the B9 for £939 at the moment (see my other thread).

I think there is a good chance you get it close to £1,100 - 1,149 again but this seems the best price at the moment, using the Price Beat.

The C9 though has been given overall TV of the year by AV Forums, What Hi-Fi and the blind HDTV Test so it's popular and likely to retain value.

B9 isn't far off though for performance.
Whilst looking for sales on 9 series models, I came across an LG B8 for sale on PRCDirect (I think it was there) for around £1098

So chances are this is the lowest they’re gonna go unfortunately, I suppose they’re a hell of a lot cheaper than their original RRP and technology wise they’re ahead of other TVs especially having 4x HDMI 2.1 ports!

Didn't know that as I can't see the prices as I'm not a member. I did try to check as I know they do good deals. Certainly great for anyone who is a member

I believe if you can't prove you're a member RS add £15 making is £1185.
Really want the 65" version but missed the £1500 offer. Still hope it goes down to somehwhere around that again

That's the one I want. £1500 was a vat error but I'm hoping it will drop to £1700.
It even a really good deal on the 77inch which they have just removed from their site.

Don't get why you would price match against costco ? You might save a tenner or so but why not give business to the site offering best price in 1st place not someone whose ADVERTISED price is miles higher .
Richer sounds wont let you return your tv after 89 days of use free of charge if price drops further or you want a different tv.
Samsung QLED. LG OLED. Both fantastic but both involve sacrifices.

Hurry up Micro LED.

People can buy from whoever they want. I've had my last 3 TVs from RS, now bought a 4th. I've always had excellent service and the best price, plus the longest warranty at 6 years. Only one TV had any issues and RS were quick to act to get my TV picked up for repair. No questions or trying to get out of anything. I've always had a good experience there, so I use them. Other prefer JL, or Currys or others.

I'm not a Costco member and have no need to be so I'd have to pay an extra £15 to join. There are many options for people to purchase the TV, that's the beauty of this site. There's no right answer.

What has the C9 65" genuinely been down to? Seems the best at the moment is £1879.

Think the B9 65" can be had for £1499. Seems a massive jump from 55" @ £939 though.

Agree not disputing service as RS jl all good but most on HUKD seem to be worried about their possible purchase going even lower .If you want to cover yourself against that then as far as I know only Costco would allow a free return to cover any potential price fall over next 3 months .
I bought the b9 65 at 1499 and yes RS would of done for 1490 but would they let me return it free after 50 days and buy it at 1399 .Agree with you everyone has their favourite retailer but not sure everyone knows the above could possibly save them 100s in a price drop scenario.
Take care my friend

That's good information to know. That's a very long period for a price drop! Thanks for the info I'll definitely take that into account in the future. I had no idea. RS only do 7 days for that, which is why I'm still keeping an eye on the C9 55".

Yes Costco will honour a price drop for 30 days if their price reduces further but in any case you have 90 days no quibble return .When the b9 reduced to 1399 I rang for a price drop refund but was told its valid for 30 days so lady at customer service simply said we will pick the old one up and I will reorder a brand new one at 1399 as mine was approx 50 days old.
It seemed a waste of their resources but sure enough 5 days later the new arrived and they took old one away .
Moral of the story .....Don't throw old box out until it's at least 90 days old !

Wow, that seems pretty insane for them to do that. You'd think they'd have authorised a partial refund instead. That's crazy. But great service!!
Good Oled of Samsung in this price range?

They don't do OLEDs but have QLED which is a different technology. There is the Q85 a couple hundred lower and the Q90 which is around £1350 I think. The Q90 has 480 dimming zones, which is awesome for an LCD but the image still isn't as good as an OLED. It is brighter than OLED, but the brightness of the C9 is around 700-750 nits which is plenty enough for high quality HDR given the contrast OLED can produce. OLEDs have pixel by pixel lighting.

Totally agree .Did mention this to the CS rep but didn't bat a eyelid. I would of just took the 100 price drop ..Daft thing is you restart again with 5 year warranty and 90 day return .The refund was back in my account before they took payment for the replacement.
Cant see them reducing it to 1299 for 65 as that would be a deal but covered if they do in next 90.
The membership fee can also be refunded anytime if you decide not to shop there again ( unlikely)

Good luck you do find you always come out lighter by 100 quid even just going for a few items !! .
Monthly discount book out on Monday hence you will see all the Costco deals on here !
All returns are same ,,they just ask if its broke or changed mind then issue refund and put in trolley behind the desk.

Not sure if you're saying the QLED sounded good until then; or I was right until then.

If it's the latter, 750nits is plenty enough for HDR on an OLED, not an LCD, because the contrast and ability to light each pixel is way above what and LCD can do. The ability of pixel level lighting allows colours to 'pop' meaning it doesn't need to be as bright to display HDR. The Q90 also doesn't have a picture as good as an OLED because it cannot compete with the blacks, contrast or colour uniformity, which can be seen in various reviews. Rtings is a good site for looking at the grey uniformity. There's a reason OLED win any meaningful category not named 'bright room'.

Obviously, if somebody worried about burn-in and are an extreme case use (always watch channel with a ticker, play the same game for hours everyday etc) then go LCD, but, personally, if you're not one of those people, it'd be crazy to pay more for a Q90 over the C9 (or similar) or more/same for a Q85 over the B9 (or similar). On pure picture I'd take the B9 or Philips 734 over the Q90.
Gg
I disagree that 750nits is plenty enough, there's room for improvement. However, on the whole there is no 'better'. Its dependent on living room set up and content usage. As you say, you could be an avid gamer, playing the same game hours every evening for 12 months straight. That beautiful picture could soon be ruined by burn in. I used to have a Plasma back in the day, the burn in was insane. OR you could hate games and only use a TV to watch films at night in a dark room, in which case you'd opt for OLED.

What we all need is Micro LED. Blacks to match OLED, increased viewing angles, unbelievable brightness, next level HDR, no burn in. Best of both worlds.

We're a mighty long way away from Micro LED becoming viable for consumers. Even when it is released, it'll be crazy expensive. Best we have at the moment is by far OLED, yes there's burn in risk but not if you vary your content and let the TV carry out its measures to protect against it.
