I have an old Optoma HD300x (similar to the old HD33). Anyone know how this would compare?
I like the fact it seems a lot smaller and would look nicer in the room.

The attraction to me was that it's tiny 17cm x 17cm so won't take up a lot of room.

I picked up one of these in the run up to Christmas. Took it on holiday, works great on a camera tripod, just pointed it at some blank wall and happily watched Netflix through it.

Love that it's small enough to chuck in a bag and easily move around.

Pleased to hear you’re happy with yours. Does it have a kettle lead (3 pin) power cable or figure 8?

Thanks

Martin
Led projectors will be the future however the limitation on cheaper models is the lumen output and this is rather limited at 600.. It's probably ok for a fully darkened room at short range but probably not much else. Most modern projectors are around 2000-3000 lumems.

Neither - it's a C5 clover leaf lead.

This is an excellent price. I bought mine from Amazon Warehouse France during the 20% discount period in November for around £340 so to get a brand new one for £416 is great value. It is the one of a handful of native 1080p portable projectors. As it is a portable projector it can only be used in a dark room but it still provides a reasonable 600 lumens. The inbuilt speaker isn't great but it pairs with a Bluetooth speaker. I bought an LG PK5 speaker to go with mine. It has a built-in battery which lasts around 2 hours (can be extended by dimming the output which also reduces the fan noise). You can screencast using WiFi. I have tested this with Windows 10 and Android and both work well with minimal latency and as it has a battery this means you can use it where it might be hard to route cables (e.g. on holiday/outdoors).

If you are looking for a portable projector I would recommend paying a little extra for something like this rather than a £100-£200 Chinese import.

This is from a hotel I stayed in recently - really crisp output considering it is a portable projector with only 600 lumen output.

It uses a 3 pin (the laptop style) that goes into a transformer, then the DC cable goes into the back of the projector.
Price gone up to £466.48 now.
