seems cheap, hot

Looks good, anyone got one would be keen to hear your thoughts on it? With Bluetooth streaming can you stream services like xbox music or spotify from iPad etc and will any track details show on the hifi?

Was looking for reviews and even cheaper here if you don't mind refurb:

That is if you prefer watts over DAB n Bluetooth.

Similarly, if you prefer lobster to a stereo, go for this.

Alternatively, if you prefer TV shows to music, go for this.

Why would you pay this price for a glorified CD player? You could get a half decent home Cinema system for this price.

The price is better than everywhere else, but it still isn't worth it. Not voting either way.

No DAB, no FM, no stereo sound, you need another device to control it... Yep, the only difference is the lack of a CD player.

shame no Wi-Fi built in... I bought the Sony something something 300 which has everything including wifi for £150 off the Sony refurb site, worth checking out.

It can use internet Radio - which has pretty much every DAB station and hundreds more. And who needs FM when you have 1000s of internet stations. Not having stereo sound is not a big issue - trust me. And most people have a smart phone these days. So yeah the only difference is the lack of a CD player Mr/Mrs Uninformed.

Do these support aptx ??

is DAB a dealbreaker? using tuneupradio and streaming over Bluetooth is pretty cool too!

Bought the mother and father this for Christmas, paid £179.99 and its a great little hifi, only gripe is the top panel is where you plug in head phones(old man listens to music while the mother watches Corrie and Eastenders) , so if you plan to put it between the shelves of a TV stand for example it might restrict access. The fact that it can use internet radio is not the point, which seems to be clear to everyone other than you. The fact is that some people don't have internet access, have very slow internet access or have very limited internet access which makes internet radio a much less practical option than DAB/FM.

At this price point, not having stereo is a big issue for most audiophiles. Trust me.

And the fact that most people have a smart phone still doesn't take into account the fact that a sizeable minority of people still do not have a smart phone, whilst many others don't see why you should have to rely on ancillary peripheral devices to control a simple music player.

So no, it's pretty clear that despite your attempts to change the parameters of the argument, the lack of a CD player is not the only difference. Feel free to throw around more petty and unfounded accusations of being uninformed if you wish, but you're only making yourself look stupid.

Sweetchuck, some very valid points raised. Must agree also on the use of anciliary devices to control a music player.
1-use of player remote to power up
2-use of phone app to enable blue tooth
3-use of phone app or both to control volume
4-the need to have to enter pass code into phone everytime you want to do anything other than play next track.

Result - rarther frustrating experience. Can't we do all the above using a harmony remote control??

I take your point on Internet radio vs Dab for those in low bandwidth areas, but I disagree that an "audiophile" would be looking to purchase a £150 micro hifi. My point all along is that most people with a normal internet connection and either an android/ios phone or computer would have other options than a typical Hifi system.

They don't make hi-fi's like they use to do before. I have a very old hi-fi (Sony) and the sound quality is just top notch.
I tried several different hi-fi's and nothing on the market comes close. These new hi-fi's these days have very poor sound quality. I thought sound quality was meant to improve over the years? More like there conning people with cheaply made sound components.
Still happy with my old hi-fi
