Great price imho. Even cheaper for "good" condition. This price is for the bog standard grey colour. Other styles available for a bit more - black leather, etc.

If buying new, opt out in small print that you will not join in any lawsuit against them for bootloop issues...

Lol. Hadn't realised these had "issues" otherwise I wouldn't have posted it. Gonna get chilly in here...

I thought it was a good deal. I got a new one for someone else quite some time ago, which touch wood hasn't bootlooped yet. So I have bought another. Not much comes for the money close, spec-wise. It has a 12 month warranty with Amazon anyway.

Screen retention + bootloop = major NO. Excellent camera though, could be useful while on holiday but that's it.

After 13 months mine bootlooped, but LG repaired it under warranty within a week. I love the phone, but the screen is more prone to scratches than my G2 was.

How about the G5 brand-new for £134.99 on amazon?

No worries. It got me excited for a sec, I'd grab a LG G5 at that price :-)

Boot loop and shocking battery

No issues on mine since the last 2 years. Don't even know what people are talking about. Excellent fast phone, best camera in the market and gorgeous screen. Awesome phone.

And obviously, its an electronic device so there will be problems and that's why there is the 2 year LG warranty. Use it.

You've been fortunate, but don't bury your head in the sand.

I just bought an Honour 9.... because my LG G4 went into bootloop last Thursday! I was aware of the issue and just hoping I might escape it because I had a really late model (would have been one of the last G4s made) and I don't do a lot of intensive things on my phone, like gaming, to run the temps up... but nope!

14 months use and I'm forced to buy a new phone despite being really happy with the one I had. The way LG treated customers who had issues was also very poor. They denied there were issues at all for a long time. I didn't even look at LG models this time around, especially as my (LG-made) Google Nexus 4 died in a similar way, and I've heard G5 users have experienced problems too. Never again.

Do you trust it, though? I've read about failures after repairs also, as they just swap the mainboard with a potentially faulty replacement. I'd trade it in while it's still working; I wish I had when I learned it was a ticking time-bomb.

Had mine for 18 months, bootloop, screen retention and terrible battery life. Avoid

Assuming these are new enough / repaired enough to not suffer from boot loops, this is a fantastic deal.

If however repaired G4s still boot loop, I'd stay away.

My wife's G3 started boot looping recently but it was nothing more than a failing battery.
I also have a G3 so it was an easy diagnosis by swapping the battery over.
Wonder how many more people assumed the worst as they didn't have a spare battery to test it with.

Current member of the bootloop club here! Otherwise....great phone with a great camera!

Its not the same phone. The G4 has a well known manufacturing / design defect which means they will all bootloop at some point. Some go on for ages, others bootloop after only a few weeks. Mine and its warranty replacement both bootlooped within 6 months.

I personally wouldn't purchase this.

Same bootloop with the nexus 5x aswell, we couldn't repair it so just gave a different phone

LG have confirmed the bootloop is a manufacturing defect, I would think that with the help of the sale of goods act you have a 6 year warranty for this iasue

Me too paid £280 in October 2015 got the boot loop last Christmas, was under 2 year warranty (still is actually), the process was pretty easy (ideally a drop off point to send back and not an inpost box) from booking it in for a repair to getting it back only took a week and they only had it in their repair centre for 1 day, very efficient!

When they replaced it was with the new 2016 mainboard, so no more bootloop problems, outside of amazon best customer service I have had in while

You have clearly never had to use LG`s customer service. Dreadful in my experience. None existant to be precise. But you seem an optimistic, glass half full sort of chap so I am sure your LG G4 experience will all end well. Even so, I advise you to always keep any precious data backed up. When my sons LG G4 boot looped, there was no warning.

I always keep backups of my device as any device may fail over time. 2 years warranty on phones serves quite well. People who have had problems with customer care just post on facebook and they get back to you to solve it.

Had the exactly same experience - LG fobbed both me and my wife off. We now have 2 dead bricks and LG is refusing to take responsibility. Never again.

They died in the same week after 19 months of ownership!

You should have got it fixed.
Lg should honour it due to bootloop failure. Mine had that problem and i was told that Lg have accepted the bootloop issues and will fix bootloop issues for the life of a G4.

I like LG phones and have just bought myself a G6 after owning a G3, G4 and G5. But the customer service I received when my G4 boot looped though was truly appalling. Took them seven weeks and countless phone calls to eventually get my phone fixed and staff were rude and dismissive when I called - frequently changing their story about what was or was not happening with my phone.
For me LG are a company making premium phones that truly doesn't seem to care for its customers...

Had a quick look into this and it appears that the models beginning 505 to 508 are the ones to avoid. I'm going to order one and see what the model number is and think about sending it back if it's one to avoid.

Bought our G4 Christmas 2015 and it boot looped in March 2017, first class service from LG. Did not admit to a design fault but sent out a free return label and within a week I had a fully working phone back from them, data would of been lost had I not known about this fault and not backed everything up on the 64gb SD card. It's a great phone but be aware if you are buying from AW then any warranty claim may be declined by LG as it's not new and the phone could already be close to 2 years old which is how the long warranty is for on these devices.

Are you saying all G4s have them? Had mine for two years and then given to my daughter. Not had a single issue. So your comment isn't warranted

I'm not saying they all have them...but the problem was/is very widespread. I'd imagine "lg G4 boot loop" would return more results in a google search than pretty much any other phone model. I believe the G5 was also susceptible but not to the same extent.

And why would LG care if customers like you keep coming back to them? The best way to make a company realise their mistake is to ditch their products and look somewhere else.

You are right. The problem I have is that the phones themselves are good (up there with other premium ones) and they quickly drop in price (which is when I buy them). It's hard to find other premium phones available at the same price

Premium in price but with terrible hardware issues. I had the G2 for a while and then the G3 for a day after which it went back.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAA I've never heard that before.

Not only is it only an issue on older models, but they fix the problem for FREE, or replace the handset. It's literally a non issue.
