One Plus 3 is a stupid name for a phone. Just call it a 4.

I'd totally buy this if only it had an SD slot!

. . . . . . . . and get no updates !

i got latest update in my ultra

Ok, it is a Nexus, but the specs are mediocre, and with the exception of another 10 months of upgrades, this has little going for it. I would expect the price to drop once the next Nexus is out.

I've been looking into getting a Nexus device, mainly because they have the stock untouched OS and get plenty of updates. However, I keep hearing of many people with these 5X's having terrible lag problems, mainly with the camera but also with some apps. It's really off-putting. I see not everybody has these problems, but the ones that do describe it as an absolute pain in the backside and have to keep rebooting the phone, clearing cache etc. Not something I want to do with a new phone.

I might just wait for a new Nexus phone comes out. The 6P is a bit too big for me, the 5X would be ideal but those lag problems really put me off

Um that's like any phone when the successor comes out.

Same here. One of the reasons I didn't buy the 5X after having previous Nexus 4 and 5.

if you a gamer should be playing a gaming pc or ps4/xbox
as a smartphone its great and still games well
it has a good camera and get updated first
also it was launched oct 2015 so not even a year old
the one plus 3 might be more powerful but its screen is worse then the nexus 5x and it cost 100 pounds more

think its mainly first ones that came out
same with nexus 9 it had terrible issues at launch but i got mine months from launch and very smooth.like it as much as my ipad air

I've been using nexus phones for a couple of years and the only problem I've had is running out of space as I always purchase the smaller space phones.

I am tempted to upgrade to the 32GB

any reason why you say the OP3 screen is worse? its AMOLED,Gorilla Glass 4 and the resolution specs are the same - the only reason I can think is the PPI is worse and that's because its 5.5in and the 5x is 5.2in.

I have(well had until I broke it) a smart ultra 6 and now a 5x. Other than the camera I prefer the £99 smart ultra 6. It feels faster, screen seems nicer, battery life is a hell of a lot better, doesn't have a daft USB C port which still takes just as long to charge even when rapid charging, I miss my capacitive buttons, no SD slot and it's expensive for what you get. If the SU7 comes in at £125 I can see Motorola and lg bosses jumping out of windows.

If you feel your 5x is slow, try installing the N beta, google it, and get the OTA.

I have to agree. All the 5x has going for it is the camera (which is great but slow), the updates and Android Pay. I regret spending the extra to get the 5x.

Android pay works on the SU6 too doesn't it? It has NFC.

I'm not sure to be honest. Android Pay wasn't available when I had the SU6. I suppose it should do if it has NFC though so that takes away another advantage.

Rubbish phone now closer to its true value.

I've installed it on my 5x setup a bank account other day, put phone on card reader at restaurant. Nowt happened other than me looking a bit of a tit. Might have to read up on how to use it!

thanks, down to £208 now and have put a flubit request in..

Or get the Honor 7 for £30 quid more and at that price it is much better than the 1+3

Good price. Specs on the phone are more than adequate and of course the beauty with it being a Nexus is that you will get Google updates far sooner than you would for other makes of phone. The main reason for me having such a phone is the custom rom/kernel development that takes place on G+ and XDA which for this device is second to none.

Not looking to get into a discussion about it, but this can be resolved:

xda-developers.com/how…ry/

Doesn't look that simple though.

This or moto g 4th gen?

That is a good comparison. This one is faster, has the better camera, and it will get upgrades first (Android N is coming).

The Moto G has an SD card slot and better cases, and it is slightly cheaper.

It shouldn't need a work around to resolve, which is why I am staying away. I was a very early adopter with the OP company, bagging an invite very early on. Yes, I had the yellow screen issue, which was resolved promptly I might add. I was happy with the OPO deciding to forgo the OP2 and the OPX, although I did buy one for a friend using an invite. I had great hopes for the OP3 and on paper they look to have scored. But the memory management restrictions (Carl Pei has said they are deliberate) to enhance battery life isn't the way forward. I'd take 4gb of RAM and bigger battery, if cost is the issue, any day of the week. 6gb of RAM then appears to be a number on a bit of paper, to make it look good, Pei citing on his twitter feed that it is optimised for future enhancements and that the camera and 'other modules' benefit from the 6gb of RAM. Historically, they aren't quick with software updates or Android updates, so I am a little sceptical about these 'future enhancements'. I'd take this over a OP3 to be fair, heated and ordered!

One Plus cant even make a cable!!! I dont trust them with a phone.

Those that recommend the £99 smart ultra 6 will be COMPLETELY correct in their evaluations.
I had one for about 12 months.
I've just recently moved on to a xiaomi Redmi Note 3 pro, which I highly recommend if anyone is looking to upgrade from their ultra 6...it's about £130, but improves on all aspects.
Forget nexus/oneplus/Samsung/Apple devices, you're just throwing money down the drain.
