Hoover has packed up and in need of a replacement.

Seems like a good price, anyone tell me if this is any good? Didn't know LG made washing machines!

We have one F1289TD, and would recommend. Very quiet, 30 min wash works a treat, plays a melody when done. Pretty sure LG washing machines are highly regarded.

This is a great price.

Lasted 4 years and packed up

I have had this machine for a few months so far so good very quiet spin

It's a very good price. Cheapest to this deal is a £100 dearer!

I cannot rate them highly enough! Have had a F1622gd 1600 spin for nearly 9 years. It has never skipped a beat, bar the filter needing to be emptied!

I've had one around 3 months, was £350 then, mate who's a white goods engineer recommended it & said it was a bargain then. So far well pleased with it

I had to buy a new washing machine last weekend and went for the 8kg load Hotpoint they have on offer for £280. Would recommend currys.co.uk/gbu…tml

How long does it take to do a wash? Washing machines are very slow these days due to EU regulations.

i have an lg for 11 years with 3 young kids at the time still going strong.

Bought 2 further models in between time for family members cannot fault lg washing machine.

It plays either of these: One or Two.

Love my LG steam washing machine and it hasn't skipped a beat in 5 years. Used daily for a family of 6 (sometimes more) and I would go buy another in heartbeat if it packed in.

At least you'll have the chance to buy a quality machine in 2 or 3 years when your hotpoint dies and costs more than the original price to repair.

LG make great machines they use a direct drive motor that is whisper silent and are very reliable.

I'm a fan of washing machines with an wash time of about an hour. Does this machine have that or is it just the 30 minute low load quick wash?

Many thanks to you and all the people that have commented to my question. I've reserved one for click and collect at my local store and will pick it up later.

I'd like to thank the OP for starting this thread even though I'd found the deal before discovering this thread, it's nice to get a bit of positive feedback before making a commitment. Have some heat my friend!

Don't forget:
2.62% with Top Cash Back
£2.50 (up to) with Quidco
£20 O2 Priority Moments
Bargain I think!

Sorry, that's a deal breaker. I wanted it to play the Singapore national anthem in G major.

is this eco friendly?

I got the F12B8QDA (same machine but 1200 spin speed, not 1400) a month or so back after 25 yr old Zanussi started showing signs of tiring, and incontinence. The LG is amazingly quiet due to the direct drive - and for the same reason when you're looking for that sock stuck somewhere on the drum, spinning the drum is effortless. I'm definitely impressed, can't fault the machine at all.

Talking to the (older, knowledgeable) bloke in Currys I asked about washer/dryers. He said forget it - when (note "when" not "if") the washing or drying side goes on the blink the whole machine is unusable. So it's a megabucks repair or scrap it and replace.

When I got the LG it was reduced from £450 to £299. After O2 Moments, using 20% discounted gift vouchers and cashback I reckon it cost me a bit under £200. The day after I picked it up the price went up £100 - and it is still £399. So don't hang about.

BTW, I'm looking for a tumble dryer and see Currys are promoting a Beko DSC85W condenser dryer at £199 (£100 off). Seems it may be recently discontinued. Anyone any experience of this model? I don't expect LG quality!

How's the which guide on this? Have a Bosch, but even after multiple maintenance washes conditioner won't be taken. Tempted by this

LG make machines with a direct drive motor which is ok but claiming it's any better than other methods of rotating the drum is just marketing bull.

Purchased today. Fantastic offer. Thanks OP. Heat added

The curry's website suggests 60 degree wash cycle takes 224 mins on this. Is that really the case?
my current machine takes about 1 hour 30 mins instead of the whooping approx 4 hours.

I expect you'll find that this is the maximum time when everything conspires against it. Does your current washing machine not start off with a rather large estimate which reduces in chunks as the cycle progresses?

Does the motor warranty include labour charge to replace it?

In the article I cited earlier, it says that bearings might be more of a problem.

Just bought this today, installed and started the clean out cycle on 60c cotton and said it was going to take 1hr 20 mins.

This machine is going to save me loads of money. My old Hoover had a Hot and Cold feed so would use water from the hot water tank. This one is electric, so with the solar panels on the roof supplying the electricity for heating it's going to be free to run.

The 10 year drive warranty is parts only. In that article you quoted there is a user's comment

There is a 10 year warranty on parts not labor. The problem is that it is so much work to fix that the labor costs $800. The company will not cover the parts unless you use one of their repair companies. That is a HUGE con for direct drive. It's so much you might as well buy a new washing machine.

I'd still recommend the machine, no regrets over buying (Except that if I'd delayed a few weeks I could have saved £20 and got a faster spin speed )
