A wash that's kind to your clothes
LG's patented 6 Motion Direct Drive technology moves the drum in multiple different ways, to best suit the material of what you're washing, delivering a perfect, gentle wash to everything from denim to woollens. With fewer moving parts, the F4J609WN also makes less vibration, which means it's quieter, more reliable and more energy efficient - it's a win all round.

A smart washing machine
Connect the F4J609WN to your mobile with the SmartThinQ app and download specialised wash cycles, such as Baby Care or Cold Wash. Just hold your Android
smartphone over the Tag On icon on your machine to upload and start the cycle. And you can prevent any potential problems with the Smart Diagnosis app. It identifies any issues with your machine before it's too late, saving you the inconvenience of ringing up a call centre.

Nothing forgotten with Pause & Add
If you've dropped a sock on the way to the machine, there's nothing more annoying than knowing it will have to wait for the next wash and probably never get back to its partner. With Pause & Add, you can pause the wash at any time and add those extra dropped or forgotten bits in - perfect for keeping socks together.

Much difference with this compares to LG F4V508WS?

The above model, although only 8KG in capacity is a newer model and benefits from the following enhancements:

1. Steam
2. AI DD instead of 6 Motion DD
3. WiFi instead of Android NFC Tag-on
4. Compatability with Google Assistant and Alexa
5. Metallic program dial and door trim.
6. Tempered glass door
7. Two tone touch screen panel which is easier to read in lower light conditions.

How much are the turbo ones?

How much are the turbo ones?

no clue of the current price, will be more than this thats for sure but worth the extra price as they take hours for a full wash. We paid about £380 at the beginning of last year on offer. See them on offer here though.

Unless the retailer takes the hit. I think this happened with Argos last year when they stopped selling LG Washing Machines and were priced to clear, such as this example:

Retailers don't often take hits especially big ones. A company like argos/curry's likely has enough influence over LG to negotiate a rebate to soften the blow imo.

My personal preference will be LG because it quiet and looks good, fits the gap in kitchen perfectly without protruding too much.

All the companies got really bad reviews. Tbh I believe some of them are actually products-owner mistakes because they don't understand the process. Look at Samsung, same bad reviews.
Which would be better? This or: hotukdeals.com/dea…798

Quite like the idea of being able to use my phone to spin and drain after a cycle

How would the warranty work on the eBay one?
crassness26/02/2020 19:43

Is LG brand Better than Bosch and Samsung? Thanks

- Bosch has 3 year guarantee. LG and Samsung have 5 year guarantee. All more or less the same price
- Samsung has poor long term reliability reviews
- Ask the ebay seller to email you an invoice and use this to register the warranty
- I bought my LG a few months ago. I pulled off the seal by accident when taking clothes out. Engineer came out within 3 days and fixed under warranty with no charge

Can anyone find the manual which states water consumption and electricity per cycle? I can't find this information - the manual only has this for the cotton cycle.

I have the LG F4J6AM2W NFC 8 kg Washer Dryer which I love, I think this one linked by TheHun6 is an upgraded version of it as mine is a couple years old now. I would definitely recommend it!

Totally agree, applies to the Samsung equivalents also.

The turbo, or super speed in Samsung ones utilise a spray bar at the top of the drum, spraying fresh water from above, which is very effective and results in an excellent quality wash in under an hour.

we had one of the Samsung quickdrives, expensive but with careful discounts and constand price matche searches got it for a reasonable price. Biggest with them at the time was that it had the quick was less than 40 minutes but could only cope with 5KG, might have changed since last year though.

We actually had two of them in a few months, issues with both and got our money back from Samsung and bought the LG version beats the Samsung hands down.

We had 2 lg 11kg ones prior to our current Samsung and hated them, they were awful purchases and much prefer the Samsung ones. Suppose that is the nature of modern white goods now.

Absolute advice is only get a modern washing machine with a 5yr warranty.

Theoretically superspeed is limited to 5kg, but in practice we don't have an issue.

It doesn't weigh the washing on the superspeed option, but it certainly still works and I have found it works just as well if not better, even with a larger load due to spray bar at the top rinsing the washing from above than the standard cotton wash.
How is the Alexa on this ?
The connection with your phone work ok ?

I can see the normal 40/60 degree cycles have incredibly long programme time (240 minutes plus), although there is a time save button one can press - does anybody know roughly how much time is saved by pressing the time save button?

Manual is here, but gives no clue.
We have this machine and Mrs hates it. She moans all the time that it doesn't wash as well as the 15year old Bosch we had even though this is good spec on paper... 9kgs, 1400spin, etc...

Gah going by the other comments I was tempted with this machine but now I’m questioning it following your’s and @Bash_er feedback
I've nothingt to do with it. But cool nfc function with the app and plays a nice tune when its finished... but OH is very unhappy with its washing capabilities. Should have gone eco bubble samsung in hindsight.

Ecobubble IMHO absolutely works. I'm one of these sad people who sits in front of the washing machine to see how it all works!

We run ours on the super speed 59 minute setting with pretty much every wash. You can then tailor the wash with extra settings. I usually add an extra rinse or 2 with big loads, or thick items. I also add the extra bubble soak option on whites or heavy soiled loads which runs for an extra 30 minutes, which is incredibly effective.

Also, the drum size on Samsung 8 and 9kg ones are the same, so don't see the point in paying more. The 10kg one I chose has a much bigger drum (I took a tape measure to them all in Currys!).
