It has been lower.
You need to hunt for the better discount codes though. I bought the 9Kg for £359 two months ago using LKA40A.

The 5 yr warranty on this expires on 17/8, so if you're interested in buying then don't delay it much.
Knockout price Frank.

Thanks for posting

This 9kg one off might be of use to someone. If it's a genuine offer and still available it will still have 5 year warranty
I swear my Washing Machines break each year, I'm constantly buying one :\ Why can't they just build shit to last?

Gutted, I wonder if I can get some discount after they deliver mine ?
How much more energy does a 9kg washer use compared to a 8kg machine? If you don't have a big family is the 9kg version a false economy, even with the 5 year warranty? I tend to wash little but more often.

Well according to the specs on both deals;
8KG 56 Litres 0.71kWh (Argos Spec)
9KG 45 Litres 0.81kWh (Currys Spec)

Heres another 8 Kg 1400rpm on the Currys site LG FH4G6TDN2 for fair comparison
8KG 46 Litres 0.70KWH

From these figures I would say the costs are nominal 1-2p per wash? (must note that I have no idea what temperature wash cycles these apply too or program duration). Like you I only do small loads, but personally when I upgrade my 6KG Bosch I will get the highest capacity machine possible. A larger capacity drum will allow the washing to move about more and as such it should be cleaner. Also, given that most products are designed to be obsolete after a set time frame (for this machine probably 6 years) running parts at half load mean they should in theory last longer.

Yes the Machine at Curry's is an all round better option which includes the 5 year warranty.

The Argos machine costs an additional £104.99 to bring this this up to 5 year warranty.

If you do the maths, the machine from Curry's is a no Brainer.

Credit to OP for finding and posting deal, therefore not voting either Hot or Cold
Is this the correct model. Isn't model F4J6TY8S the silver version?

I have had a similar lg model for the last 8 yrs and has been superb! Best machine I have ever had. The direct drive makes it so much more reliable.
Sadly can't recommend an LG washing machine.

I purchased one for my parents as I thought they had a better build quality than the generic Hotpoints/Whirpools/Bekos etc, but it has only lasted just over 2 years before returning an error and isn't working properly.

My Hotpoint washer dryer on the other hand has been flawless and I've had that for well over 6 years with constant daily use.

Thanks v much. I bought the 9kg one today. It seemed to have some features on the LG website that the smaller one didn't and was also, bizarrely, more water efficient. To be fair I think the 9kg one is frequently discounted (so it's not that much of an offer in the scheme of things) but after reading through a couple of hundred reviews last night (couldn't sleep lol) it all seemed much more positive than negative compared to 'non-discounted' models like the bosches, samsungs.

After reading a couple of hundred reviews I think sometimes it's just luck of the draw. I imagine even some Mieles break too. If it didn't come with the 5 year warranty I'd have had to think twice mind for the price and probably just gone for a beko/hotpoint

Also just re-read your point about smaller loads and stress on the machine - hadn't thought of it like this - interesting. Again I think it just comes down to luck of the draw but I suppose they also don't charge an extra 50-100 for nothing...

Saleswoman instore added it so I'm not too sure I'm afraid. She just scanned a barcode and it ended up with £50 off. They seemed to have a couple of pages of barcodes at their disposal. Sorry I couldn't help further

Also the 9Kg machine weights 4Kg more than the equivalent 8Kg model and that wont be just be all in the concrete counterweight on the machine, more engineering costs money and adds weight. Hope you enjoy your washing machine (in as much as you can enjoy a washing machine!)
We're talking about the Currys one offering a 5-year warranty... according to to front of this machine it offers a 10 year warranty on parts... is the manufacturer's 10 year warranty any less good to the Currys 5 year extended warranty?
Also do we think the 2017 8kg version would be significantly technically superior to the 2015 Currys 9kg one? Steam technology and all that
My 20 year old Bosch died today so I'm in need of a new one and know zip about washing.

According to the LG website, the 9kg and the 8kg machines both weigh 63kgs and have the same dimensions... not sure where you get the extra 4kg from.
