Have this dryer. Paid more and worth every penny. Auto cleaning filter for ease ( still have to clean the lint trap periodically).

Super large drum for tumbling. Don’t underestimate this - larger drum means less creasing and some (or in the case of kids uniforms) - none!

Seems like a fake deal to drive traffic to their site - same goes for all their other special deals. If you try to select delivery you get a message saying they don't deliver to your postcode, despite being 'in stock'. I tried several addresses around the UK to test it and you get the same message. Are you expected to go and collect it from their store?? What a total waste of time. Also tried other deals they are doing with other appliances and the exact same happens... (edited)

Would John Lewis price match this?
    b4dr1's avatar
They are in the worst of their times I believe, forget about price match at the rate they are going.

I couldn’t get delivered in my area but I got AO to price match (apart from delivery) with free collection of old tumble dryer

AO initially told me they would price match but then later refused to price match saying that Sonic Direct won't deliver to my postcode... They purposely and carefully checked my postcode on Sonic Direct's website and also had a Manager check.

Also it's a joke that they add on delivery charges 'after' price matching any 'delivered' price from a competitor. (edited)

What does a dual heat pump bring to the party?
    neversay's avatar
Two heat pumps and a cheap bottle of wine. (edited)

Just a word of warning - quick dry is useless on a heat pump dryer in my experience I like my dryer very much, but do not expect these things to dry anything fast! Very cheap to run though!

What do you consider fast? My dryer generally dries loads in around 90 mins to two hours. My old washer dryer would take maybe three. Drying outside depends on the weather, but between an hour and a day!

Curry’s price matched for me but delivery is £25 extra

Agreed. I've waited 25 days so far for a repair on our machine. The Philippines call centre they use is also terrible. Will never buy an LG machine again. By the way my machine is only 14 months old and the bearings have gone.

Does anyone know if this can go into garage? Thanks

    Yes

This is a great price. We bought the FDV909W from John Lewis last summer for £729. I'm not sure if there is much difference between the 709 and 909 models, but ours has performed brilliantly. Operation is very quiet too.

Do heat pumps make the house go all humid. Was thinking of replacing my old dryer with the ones that have a water hose going outside due to the humidy
    Sackboy1's avatar
Heat pump dryer’s will either collect the water in a tank which you can empty after each cycle, or you can directly connect it to an outlet to drain the water away like your dishwasher.

There shouldn’t be any venting of humid air into your home.
