It really is just 3 connections. Power, water (in)pipe, and waste water pipe (usually under sink drain). Easy
Anyone havebthis washing machine and is it decent?
Just checked this on Which?, they say the following:
This washing machine really impressed us with brilliant cleaning, rinsing and spinning - so it's easy for us to give it our Best Buy recommendation. It's a 2015 model and won't be around forever so, if it's the machine for you, buy it while you can.

It received 80% and is a recommended buy, however it has slow programs, and is inefficient with water and energy.

It's all relative. The water use is probably because "it's among the very has the best we've seen when it comes to rinsing", according to Which.

It still has a A+++ rating and they estimate it will cost £47 a year to run, whereas the very highest scoring best buy (another LG with 89%) costs £59. However some Samsung, Miele and Bosch machines are under £40, but usually cost way more to begin with.

You bet it is. Here's why:

1. Whisper quiet
2. Robust build quality
3. Extremely reliable
4. Attractive, easy to use touchscreen interface
5. Double glazed door for additional noise suppression
6. Turbowash helps cut down wash cycles
7. NFC diagnosis is useful and counts down to when the next tub clean is due.
8. Comprehensive range of wash programs
9. 6 motion system provides excellent cleaning results.
10. Minimal vibration during spin cycle

Downsides

1. Outer glazing is tinted plastic. This means you won't be able to see your laundry very well. It can also scratch easily so make sure it is not contacting other kitchen units.

2. Water hammer is an issue, so if you have old pipes you might need to buy a hammer arrestor.

3. Some people with wooden floorboards have reported higher noise levels. There are some rubber feet pads available, which may help.

4. Careful levelling is required to eliminate vibration on the spin cycle, but a little time spent getting this right is well worth it.

The biggest giveaway that it's a 2015 model is the dedicated displays for spin speed and temperature. The later models have done away with this feature and are incorporated into the numerous icons on the display panel.

The other change is that the touch screen controls on the later models are highlighted in grey rather than black. The reason for the change to grey was because it was difficult to read in low light conditions.

On the plus side, the on/off and start/pause buttons are illuminated, a feature that some current models don't have.

Otherwise, pretty much the same looks and core internals of the other current crop of mid range LG washers.

I bought my 3rd LG washer at the beginning of the year. The last two lasted 9 years of daily use before the bearings wore out. In a Which? Survey they rank No1 brand for reliability even trumping Miele! For sheer pound for pound value, nobody does it better!

With Turbowash activated, the 40° Cotton wash takes 59 minutes. In a nutshell, water hammer is the knocking noise in a water pipe that occurs when a tap is turned off briskly.
Cancelled me 5 year plan with currys realised all they do offer is accidental cover compared to LG's 5 year cover

DrAlanhart.

I cant see the 5 years warranty.

Currys stated it as 2 years warranty only.

do you think the superior model is worth extra 70gbp.

What do you mean by the superior model?
Sorry to resurect this thread; could someone that has this (FH4U2VCN2) or one of the more recent models (F4J6VY2W/F4J6VY1W) comment on which one would be better? From what I'm seeing FH4U2VCN2 has turbowash while F4J6VY2W has steam, not sure which one is better. TIA!
I have the FH4U2VCN2 and i believe the steam one is the newer model. Apart from the turbo and steam difference i cant see any other differences.
