Just seen this on Currys. Seems to come with a 5yr warranty via LG.
As my machine packed in I thought it was a good deal - wat do people think?

Martin Dawes have something similar and cheaper but all these LG machines look very similar! martindawes.com/ite…8DO

They are the same machines but Currys changes the model number to avoid price matching competitors.
I bought this 18months ago for £379, this is a great price as they have been £200 more. It's a brilliant machine. Mines on a solid floor and it's whisper quiet.

Ordered last week, due for delivery tomorrow, was best price I could find. (let down by the cheap lg argos deal that they didn't have stock to supply!).

Hot.

Interesting - I bought the Argos LG last week and yet to have it delivered. No sign of a delivery date. Did they contact you to cancel?
Is this speaker active or passive?
5 Year warranty offer ends 28th February.
Can anyone recommend a decent washer dryer? Or is it better to stick to a washing machine?

If i buy it before this date, can I still apply for the five year warranty?

Don't know if they will take the old one or do I need to contact the council? They will probably charge for collection although no idea how much

Daily text from them saying to get in touch, then vague details about waiting for stock and did I want a different machine. Said I'd rather wait because it was a good deal, but finally contacted them on Friday to ask if this product would ever be back in stock and could not get a straight answer. Cancelled as I'd waited 2 weeks and need a new machine as the bearings are noisy as hell on the machine we have. While waiting for the argos is seen similar deals go out of stock in John Lewis etc.

Happy to pay a bit more for this larger capacity and 5 year warranty (if you get it quick before end of the month).

What is LG's warranty like? Anyone care to share their experience?

It states in the promotional T&C's that 'These promotional warranty conditions are valid for any person who has legally acquired possession of the product during the Promotional Period'.

So assuming you were to actually receive it before the 28th then you should be covered.

The key difference between the Martin Dawes deal and the Currys deal other than the 0.5 KG drum weight difference, is whether your preference is for Turbowash or Steam.

Turbowash sprays a water jet above the drum door during the wash and rinse cycle to help reduce the overall wash time.

Steam technology helps to reduce allergens and ideal for baby, bedding etc.

You decide which feature is more useful, otherwise either model is a great choice.

Very much doubt it will arrive in time for the warranty if this is the case.
Could anyone suggest any other similar to this with good warranty? I've had a look at this samsung but is bit more pricey:

Spin speed is only part of the story. Spin efficiency, for example the number of drainage holes in the drum and how efficiently the water is pumped out during the spin cycle plays its part too. I can honestly say that the LG spin efficiency is so good that 1400 RPM the laundry is almost dry. 1200 and even 1000 RPM gives respectable results too. In the late 70's the average spin speed was 800 RPM with poorer spin efficiency and no-one complained then!

Groan!
Just a heads up. If you get let down by Currys Know How delivery service and as a result you miss out on redeeming the 5 Year Warranty with LG, do make sure you have a plan of action in place because it could happen. I know, because it's happened to me 3 times with Currys!

I think I recall that when I registered for the 5 Year Warranty online, you go by the purchase date and upload the receipt to confirm this, together with the serial number. I also believe you have up to 30 days after purchase in which to register the item.
With regards to this extended warranty with LG - does it matter when you recieve it? It says in their Terms and conditions that the product must be PURCHASED before the 28th - and registered within 28 days.
Does it matter if you buy now and its delivered late? you still have 28 days to register... right?

Not really, Just more wear on the motor and bearings etc..

1400rpm is apparently the optimal spin speed, 1600rpm makes little difference to the water extraction. There are other factors too but I'd stick with 1400rpm. It'll prolong the life a little longer ;).
For £100 extra you can get the washer dryer. vaughans.co.uk/p-1…spx

My Ecobubble broke after 18 months - the computer conked out and it couldn’t finish a wash cycle even though the motor was perfectly fine - it would get to a certain part of the cycle and just start juddering like it was having a fit.

I still think more basic ‘thunk button’ machines are more reliable than overly engineered machines like Ecobubbles.

Ordered this evening in silver with £20 voucher code (although this paid for the old one to be taken away). Our 12 year old LG was sounding as if it was on its last ropes. While this model has a larger drum it also looses about 5 cm in depth compared to our current washing machine. Due for delivery Friday. Thanks OP and have belated heat
