good piece of tech for the price
I highly recommend it, cyanogenmod 11 works really well. Developers still working to port the gpe rom.
I'm so tempted to sell my Nexus7 2013 and buy this. White one in stock at same price too at Coop electrical
What's the battery life like on this thing? It is nice, isn't it?

Is it possible to put the Google Play Edition of the LG G Pad rom instead of the LG Custom one?
Good deal. If the speakers were not facing the wrong way I'm not sure I'm be able to resist.
Screen on time it's about 6hours, depends on usage, heavy game usage it lasted less than half. Not bad.

No not yet, but the XDA-Developers... developers are working on it... CM11 (Cyanogen does come very close though)

Any bugs on cm11?

How is PA rom on the g pad? Its probably more stock than cm11
I think I prefer it in black to white.
What are the negatives of this tablet? Is this the one where weight distribution makes it a bit awkward to hold after a while? What are the other negatives relating to newbie type usage of basically just browsing?

Do I go with this or the Acer Iconia A1 at £60 less I wonder?

This is definitely worth the £60 premium. You can get a Acer Iconia A1 8GB refurb for just £89.99 HERE

Thanks for that. After a closer look though I think I will indeed go with the G Pad given the differences in weight and screen res.

Expansys are saying stock expected in three days. Anyone know if they are reliable with those estimates? Might just get the white from co-op.

This or nexus 10 16gb also from Expansys £229 with voucher
Great tablet, typing this on it now. Fantastic screen and the LG software is actually pretty non intrusive certainly compared with Samsung's TouchWiz

Do you also have the infamous blue line problem?

is this flash compatable?
Am I the only one who thinks the res is too high on this given screen size?

I've got a 10" @ 1366 x 768 and some things can be small enough to read on that so this seems like it would be silly!

If you think that, don't look at the iPad Mini Retina, 2048 x 1536 on a 7.9" screen, resulting it 326ppi!

To be honest it doesn't really make a difference to the font size, this is chosen by the software manufacture. If anything it makes small font easier to read as with a higher ppi it will be clearer.

Ugh, the Expansys page still says stock expected in three days like it did yesterday. Has anyone ordered? Seriously tempted to get the co-op white.

Only 326 ppi on the iPad?
359 ppi here!

It looks amazing, but I prefer to get the cheaper G Pad.
Ordered from Co-op yesterday
Expansys now saying in stock!
I have a 64GB Apple Mini Ipad and am looking at selling and getting this. Has anyone moved from an IPAD mini (original) to this ?

Anyone seen a good and not too expensive case which they have found any good for the G Pad ?
Please could we use this thread for general discussion about the tablet:

If you've ordered from eXpansys before, check your mailbox for a 5% off code, brings it down to 189.99 plus TCB/Quidco

Don't want to turn this into a mine is better than yours argument... but that is quite a bold statement to make.

I'm not knocking PPI but at around 250-300ppi it is almost impossible for the eye, from normal distances to see individual pixels on a 7-9" screen. Also it means more processing power is needed to push all those pixels around.
I ordered mine via ASDA Direct last week, overall I'm very happy with it. Some reviewers slate the LG interface but it looks alright to me, doesn't really add anything at times and some features are pointless but that doesn't bother me at all.

Photos I posted on a forum plus mini review if anyone is interested:

Cheers for the pictures through the link mate. I'd change my Nexus 7 (2013) for one but not sure I can be bothered with the hassle

The higher the better for me personally - it is one of the biggest influences on me buying tablets. I agree though that 250+ is acceptable for devices this size
Mine arrived today from the Co-op.
No blue line problem, but there was a gap between the bezel and the body just above the front camera.

I rang them up and they will collect it and bring me a new one tomorrow.
I'm frankly impressed.
Well its arrived. Not bad. First tablet ive had or even really handled outside a few seconds in a shop. Not blown away, but then I seem to have grown out of getting excited at owning new gadgets like I used to.

Anyway, no problems so far. I dont have a smart phone either so mobile in general is slightly alien to me. Just reading up on rooting/roms etc. And my god I have got to get some sort of ad blocking sorted out. Is that really what the web looks like?

Most noticeable to me is the weight. It feels heavier than I expected. Its about 335g. So glad I didnt go for the Acer Iconia A1 at 410g, or worse, a 10" tablet!

Otherwise, not bad, not bad. I certainly wont be giving up my laptop any time soon though around the house. I just dont see what all the fuss is about. I dont do an awful lot on a pc or online these days, but I still dont see this as a laptop killer for me. Give me a trackpad and keyboard any day, along with the ability to rest the thing on my lap.

One thing Im sure it will be great for though is books. Its ideal and paper books are pretty much obsolete except for the sentimental.
Smallspender,

These little devices can do some very impressive things, but you need to experiment a little bit... As you say it will be great for books but if you like music or video then again it is ideal.

I'd suggest looking at some of the top pick apps in the Google play store. If you like music/radio then check out TuneIn Radio. If you like new then try either Clipboard or Google Play Newsstand. Going by car, train, tube or walking Google Maps is difficult to beat. And if you like video/TV try Netflix, BBC iPlayer and TV Catchup

.. anyone know why the White one is more? Is it that much nicer or just a different colour - the back is Aluminium but suppose the black one is too (just painted black) ?
- similar price difference on Amazon too.
