i know expansys say the warranty is valid but LG say it isn't, considering who is meant to be covering the warranty I'll believe LG

So no warranty is valid at all according to LG? That's strange being part of EU... You'd think this would be covered (logically speaking)

Hmm...

Ultimately the warranty lies with the retailer selling the product.
Given seller is UK based then 'Sale of Goods Act' should cover any lack of cover.
To be extra safe buy with a credit card and section 75 covers it.

that's my tuppence worth (_;)

Spot on!

So LG directly have said they will not recognise European warranty and ultimately European law?

This deal has already been posted. Have a look at that post for all the info on warranties and the Expansys experience with warranties.

Is it anything better and cheaper then this screen protector?

Fantastic phone - I got my 32Gb G2 from DigitalRev for about £60 more in Nov 2013, best phone I've owned

I got this case to go with it as well, absolutely superb:

I emailed expansys about this. Warranty is fine

Got to agree with those who say it's a great phone - I even really like LG's UI overlay which caught me off guard.

I got the 16GB version (slightly cheaper from Amazon) to avoid any warranty issues - no point in risking it as 16GB is plenty enough for me.

i got my 32gb from an ebay seller registered in china with UK stock last year for £289 and still love it. Its so fast and the battery still lasts me two days. Ive not really encountered any problems with it at all. The only other phone i would get is the LG G3 for £100 more.

Expansys will deal with warranty repairs - I spoke to them when this deal popped up last time. They did quote me a potential 30 day turn around as a worst case scenario, but they are a reputable outfit, so I don't believe they'd leave you high and dry.

However, it has been established many times that LG UK will not touch you with a barge-pole for any direct warranty support.

bought this for £249. rooted it to get rid of some bloat ware. so warranty void. dont let the warranty put you off. you can get it cheaper through ebay. excellent phone and great battery.

don't expect 4G from EE to work on this version. had to send mine back and get the 16Gb UK version

It is possible, you just needed to access the secret services menu. Alternatively, you could have re-flashed the ROM with the EU/UK version but fair point made. This is probably the East Asian model.

Expansys is not on par with Amazon, John Lewis, just about everyone else etc.
