It's a Hong Kong company so it's probably overseas.

Where does it say that? All the reviews say they ship from HK.
HK company. I've ordered from them a couple of times & had no issues

Sorry got the info from ebay, - I firstly found out about the company from ebay (ebay.co.uk/itm…530?hash=item35eb629e6a:g:GSwAAOSwo0JWMt9K) - i then googled them and that's where i found their store...

In the ebay advert it quotes "The order will be ready for dispatch in our UK warehouse within 1 business day"

I have already ordered and my order has moved to "STATUS: Packing & Delivering soon" - I will let you know when it arrives and who it was shipped through. They are grey imports though...

Most of their bad reviews are used phones breaking down out of warranty though...and Smartfonestore are NEVER going to win when it comes to review sites. People absolutely know the risks they're taking when they pay £300+ for a used phone with only a 60 day warranty. But when their phone breaks after 70 days they're going to leave a bad review.

Mobiles go wrong all the time from new. I recently had to return a Galaxy S6 that wasn't even a week old and that's why I would never buy a £300+ item with a 60 day warranty. It's madness.

Too risky for me buying a grey import phone. There are so many nuances in configuration between regions. eBuyer are doing this for £299 and it's a proper UK model.
Bought black leather G4 from these when the 20% discount was available on ebay a couple of weeks ago. Took 1 week to arrive via DPD.

Absolutely no issues with the phone, comes with a 2 pin charger but they bundle a UK adapter. Just one minor gripe, there's no spare plastic back cover, which I thought was included.

At £230 this was an absolute steal but I can appreciate those concerned about warranty issues with imports where there's only a small saving to be had.
Import Tax?

Import Tax?

Based on the feedback you do not pay import tax on them as it has not been flagged.
This really isn't worth it guys. I bought it from here and it actually cost me more - because the phone does not come with the original ceramic back case (the Europe/UK versions for Leather back also include the original back).

This means you will spend £15 to buy the back case back if you want to use most existing phone protection cases (like silicone/TPU/bumpers because they don't fit the Leather version well).

On top of that you may want to get the UK Plug 1.8A charger (as the converter that comes with this grey import is flimy and adds bulk) or better yet buy an approved Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 charger which will be another £15.

So basically it will end up costing £305. WITHOUT the EU Warranty.

Did you get the H815 or the H818 ? as the H815 should come with the back as it's the EU spec, while the H818 is Chinese spec.

I got the H815. It works here in the EU. The box said H815, however, it was opened like others also reported. Possibly it was taken out? However the plug inside wasn't an EU Plug but a Taiwan one.

Cheers i will see what i get, as i have ordered two... (have a few USB chargers kicking about, so not too fussed about that)

Checking on-line reviews nearly all official cases fit fine with leather, (QuickCircle Case for wireless charging you take the leather off anyway) what type of case did you use?

youtube.com/wat…C-I

Regarding the charger, i will get an official Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger as these are not expensive and can charge the phone in about 2 hours.
I have a Choetech QI circle case from amazon that's fine as it replaces the back but it doesn't protect the top or bottom. I also tried the official snap on Circle Case in shop - it works but it's just really tight and bulky for my liking.

I also bought a generic plastic bumper, however the fit is soo tight it actually scratches and rubbed off bits of the leather in the corners.

I also have a generic soft clear tpu case (usually my fav phone case of choice), but with leather the case obscures the microphone ports a little and the front lip doesn't cover the front so there's no protection for the screen at all.

I've now ordered a "OEM gold replacement back" for £20...
Another thing to check is whether or not this is actually a H815T which is the Hong Kong variant. I bought one from these guys on eBay before realising it was the EU model (they interchanged the model number a few times in the ad - and in all fairness to them they refunded me without quibbles). From what I could tell at the time there isn't too much in the way of difference but you couldn't unlock the bootloader of the 815T and I would assume there may be warranty issues too.
Never understood all the carry on over backs and leather etc

All of my phones go in bullet proof cases you can only see the screen

spare backs wot?
LG do not cover grey import phones for warranty with them. If you try to make a claim they ask for the imei and if it's non UK spec they tell you to return it to the retailer.

Aside from the warranty and where the phone originates from, it's by far the best phone I've had so far. I thought the same of the G3. Yes, the battery life on the G3 wasn't fantastic so I bought an external charger and a second battery, the screen wasn't over bright but had a natural look to it so I didn't mind (I find the Amoled displays on the Galaxy phones a little too colourful although impressive). I never really suffered from lag but I'm not a heavy phone user in general.....
...... but when an angry girlfriend smashed my beloved G3 I replaced it with a G4 (at the time £330) I immediately noticed great battery life, a brighter, more colourful screen and super-fast opening apps, and the camera is even better. The G4 walks over the G3.
I ordered one from this company and returned for a refund. Unless you get an EU varient you can root but can't unlock the bootloader (no custom roms) . I recieved the h815 T (HK). Probably not a big deal for most and the company refunded me no problem. I ended up paying £323 for an EU model from Amazon. Hot for those who are not fussed about custom roms

Coming from a G3 32gb. Agree the screen and camera are miles better. Battery life is moderately better. G4 is faster on stock. However CM12.1 elimated any lag on the g3 and I can't notice any speed improvement for normal tasks with the exception of opening the camera (G4 is much faster to access the camera).

I'm looking forward to a stable CM13 for the G4

A quick noob question if I may... If I were to buy this and install say CM 13, would it have to be rooted and therefore some apps like sky go wouldn't work?

See xda developers for all rooting/flashing questions:
No you don't have to root. Rooting has nothing to do with flashing.

To flash a ROM all you must do is
Unlock your boot loader, only an unlocked boot loader can boot a custom ROM.
Installing a custom recovery is also required most of the time coz the default recovery don't have much features. But if custom ROM can be installed frm default recovery custom recovery can be avoided.

On the G4 the rom is installed from customer recovery

Also I imagine you can probably hide any root from skygo etc using a module in xposed framework.

I've not seen an official genuine one for less than £20. The ones on ebay and amazon that cost £6 are hit or miss. Fake or factory duds... I know, because I got one... the text is a different shade of grey, and it didn't fast charge my phone, and it got suspiciously warm and made a slight tone whine. Might get lucky though. I'm pretty sure that's a wide issue as the seller refunded me no quibbles. I ended up choosing an aukey qualcomm charger with 2 years warranty, it works.

In regards to Custom Boot roms... actually I'm not sure mine is Hong Kong either. Wouldn't the plug be UK if it was? The model number on my Hardware info is "LG-H815', software info V10d-TWN-XX' I assume the TWN means Taiwan. Really a bummer about the custom roms - I'm hoping LG release a software update so we can get the new V10/LG G4Pro features like extra framerates and manual video control.

Ooh thanks. I'm using Camera 4K and Cinema LV app though which doesn't require rooting. Mostly shooting in 4K at 24fps... but I would love any manual video control hacks if they got that?

It's difficult, but not impossible to get phone refurbishment right. You need a team of people working on the phones to iron out the problems. I work in this industry and as hard as you try there will always be some issues with phones not working correctly. Smartfonestore's business model is based around offering a 60 days warranty, which indicates to me how much time they have to turn around each phone. There's no reason why a 3 month, 6 month or even 12 month warranty can't be offered as long as you have the team and time to refurbish the phones correctly. Smartfonestore do have a good reputation. So if I wanted a phone and could live with the warranty period I wouldn't hesitate to get one from them.

Maybe not quite true - mine is an H815 and it's a Taiwan model. This is significant as there is currently no way to unlock the bootloader on the Taiwan model (but it's not a problem for EU models for example)

Iv bought a nexus 6, but the movie lg4 made is really good.
I just received my genuine gold back cover.

Yup, my protection cases now work fine on it - my favourite being the thin clear soft case. I definitely prefer this rather than the naked black leather (yuck, feels like cardboard).

The best feeling case is the Circle QI charge case in my opinion - it has a very subtle soft touch grip to the paint job, but again I don't want to use it as it offers no bottom/top drop protection.

That's a bummer as i thought the EU one, not bothered about the unlocking the bootloader though.

Not arrived yet, but happy at the price of £269.99 as i should get a big chunk back from when i sell my S4.

Did not know about all the fakes for the charger - looks like 90% of the are fake... mobilefun sell a real one from what i can work out - i could be wrong though..

I purchased the LG G4 during the ebay 20% offer from same seller. Phone arrived within a week from DPD. It shipped from Taiwan. Even though warranty is missing but for £230 it was great price. LG G4 battery really last much longer than G3, phone is much faster, lighter and we can uninstall builtin apps if we don't want.
I have tried to post eglobal central deals before and they have been blocked. Anyway I recommend them delivery is fast no problems with customs.
