does cancellation cause any issues?

But then you can't cancel the airtime plan as it's a 24 month contract and you only have 14 days to cancel new contracts?

A lot of good G5 deals about today.

It's a refresh contract. You can cancel the airtime part of the contract anytime during the contract - you just then pay off the phone plan.

Loved my G3 and G4 not going anywhere near this one tho....

Expect it to get very cheap....

Give it 3 months will be around 300 or less and other 6 and its 200 to 250 LG phones don't hold value especially if your someone who like regular upgrades every year or less

True. And I think the G5 will drop like a stone somehow.

Why's that?

I had a G2 and planning on upgrading to this come summer.

Where does it state you get a free camera module?

This handset is going to get a lot cheaper, reviews and public perception has damaged this device. LG knows they have released a klunker, apparently they are focusing on the follow up to the V10 in place of the G5 given its that crap.

The untested modular design would worry me a bit, I wouldn't want to be an early adopter incase it developed a reputation from having problems - then id have paid top dollar for something that depreciated a lot. Six months and you'll know exactly where you stand with it.

whats the camera mod worth

got this deal last friday by pre order. The phone ia a beast and for this price a flagship in UK is really sweet. have some heat for the post

At this price, it's tempting vs the HTC 10. Although, the audio recording and optically stabilised front facing camera is awesome. I use my phone for recording holiday videos

Early build quality issues might persist.
Strange modular system.
Diminishing hardware upgrades.
Screen might be worse than G4

Last year the G4 dropped sub £350 quite quick and that phone was better recieved.

Go get a G4 and a few leather backs and you'll be pretty happy.

not on o2 refresh it's a rolling 30 day contract alongside a payment plan for the phone.

good deal heat added. my Lg G3 is still going strong. the screen is just amazing. however i want more improvement in battery area as it does not last long as compare to samsung phones. heat added for the deal anyway

Whatever you do if you have a fault avoid LG for support and go to your retailer. My G3 went back and forward to LG with a fualty motherboard and case. I was without a phone for 4 months! Pathetic.

This is a nice phone. I waited to get my hands on one before I made my new phone choice recently - I ended up getting the S7 Edge in the end as the screen was a lot more vibrant and slightly bigger despite being similar spec. I had the G3 before and had been happy for a couple of years so naturally wanted to see the G5. Admittedly getting a free VR and 128gb card swung my deal towards the S7 it but from what I saw - this is still a top phone. Hot for the deal!

These guys seem pretty happy with the general build Android Pit.
Modular system seems like a nice touch, especially the removable battery.
Not entirely sure what you mean by diminishing hardware upgrades?
If you mean internal CPU, then its not a massive jump from the s808 but it is the latest and greatest going around now but I do see what you mean in that its a lot of money to fork out for an incremental improvement.
Screen, can't comment. My guess its the probably the same, don't see why they'd make it any worse (not that it's particularly terrible in the first place).

So cancel after 14 days and do you pay the remaining phone plan in one go or monthly?

who did you get your contract from?

This phone IMO is a bit of a disappointment when it comes to the build quality, held one in carphone warehouse the other day and it felt poor vs the Galaxy S7 edge, also the modular part didn't join the phone very well and the back of the phone had imperfections in it,all of these issues I've since seen on YouTube videos, which indicates this is a widespread problem.

So I got mine today after ordering last week, not sure if mine is a second production run as they had to wait for new stock before mine came in.

However build quality seems fine to me, the module part matches up perfectly on mine, there are no imperfections on the back. Screen is very nice as is the camera, though I am upgrading from a Nexus 4 so... anything is going to be an improvement these days). Tiny niggle on mine would be a very small amount of back-light bleed at the top edge on full brightness on a black screen, however I have to almost squint to see it (in a pitch black room) and its not noticeable in general use. I only checked it because it was mentioned in reviews.

I would not expect the build quality to be better than the S7 Edge considering that is over £100 more even with discounts.

EE through Voice mobile. It was a business contract due to a deal they offer with my employer. free phone unlimited mins texts and 25gb data plus the VR and 128gb card for 45 notes/m. I cancelled my 3 contract with 3 months to go in order to get it. 3 were good and didn't even charge me so happy days!

Happy G2 owner running CloudyG2 3.3 rom and Xceed kernel. Was hoping for something great from LG to tempt me and although I've yet to see one in the flesh I'm not that much in a hurry to try one. The move away from rear volume buttons is a mistake IMO, it doesn't look that pretty and then even less attractive with all that modular malarkey. I can see the accessories going for a song fast because no-one will want them.

Voted hot because it is a good price but it'll definitely plummet sooner or later. There's also the fact that the HTC 10 seems to be a much more compelling phone in all aspects, especially build quality and software.

I guess I can understand not upgrading from a G4 to a G5 but that's not because I think there's anything wrong with the G5. What are you implying?

Fixed battery in the HTC. One of the few reasons people still support LG is that it's one of the last big manufacturers to have this feature in a flagship phone. When it comes to software I've been reading in reviews that the HTC 10 comes with close to stock Android. Something LG has been doing for a while now so not a compelling feature. As for build quality, it's not out yet so all the first run niggles haven't been publicised.

£400 for an android phone? I thought android was supposed to be cheap

I use this phone as a spirit level, does an awesome job!

I also had a faulty motherboard and sent it to O2 first. Those **** wanted to charge me £124 because they thought that my screen was cracked. I obviously refused and got it back to see that it was just my glass screen protector that had a tiny crack. I suspect that they tried to mug off a potentially gullible customer, no way a qualified engineer can't see the difference between a screen protector and the phone screen.

Contacted LG and they got it repaired within 2 weeks. Maybe too long without a phone as well, but they're not too bad. Everything was straightforward with them.

My G4 (4 months old) decided to reboot itself and die. The only thing it was good for was starting a bush fire after that... press power button, wait 5 minutes, drop it like it's hot (as it heated up to become hotter than the fing sun).

With Vodafone for repair now, but that's the first problem I've had of that severity in 15 years of phone ownership. Big problem with the G4 if you search Google, mine was Dec 2015 build date.

terrible phone, invest in a s7 instead.

Has had poor reviews across the board. Some of the units that reviewers have bought (ie retail units) are frankly embarassing. Lumps and bumps, gaps wide enough to slide a piece of paper into. Add to that even the screen is apparently poor compared to the competition, notwithstanding the issues on some with backlight bleed all over the shop.

If I had to guess this won't be the start of a whole series of phones that take modules, will be the first and only experiment. LG should have worked off the V10 imo, instead they've created a bit of a dogs dinner!
