Now i hate bashing a product, but i own an LG G4, which developed after 10 months of use, the infamous bootloop error. My phone has been with LG for 2 weeks, ive not had a phone for almost a month now..Ive had to call them several times, as this is a problem they acknowledge is not user related. Im waiting for a call from them in 2 days to 'find out' what the status is of my phone.

If you value your data, if you need a phone that you can rely, please dont get an LG.

Yes the camera is brilliant, but their in warranty support is abysmal. I dont see how its even acceptable to have my phone for so long and for them to not have even done anything with it.

Good phone, yeah sure. Personally id keep an eye out for an S7 or S7 Edge.

Spot on. My LG G4 developed the bootloop error after 9 months and has been with them for a month now and still no resolution (keep getting told it is with a level 2 engineer). I have rung in several times and even complained directly to a resolution manager to no avail. I then wrote in a complaint email to which surprisingly I did get a reply but then no follow up even though I was promised one (and a measly extension of warranty by a month). I have now written to the head of service for LG in the UK and awaiting a response. Needless to say their customer support is the worse and I will actively discourage anyone getting a LG phone or any other product they make. Going back to Samsung now...

Don't worry as they are sending out G5 instead as replacement for free to most effected users.

burned lg customer here too, never again

You sure? Then why they need to wait so long with a resolution? Just realised how many of us in a same boat. After looking around on the net about estimated repair time, without luck, found those guys with exact same problem. Waiting for 4+ weeks? No reply? No eta?

Still. This is about a G5 not LG support/service. The deal is good. But not for those who suffer. Cheers

Do you have confirmation of that as the G4 is still on sale and presumably in production. Also, shouldn't it be affected, not effected?

Snap. My G4 recently got the boot loop error after ten months. Spent four days trying to get through to customer services and still haven't managed it. Promised call back not happened, emails not answered, on line fault reporting ignored etc. Never known such poor service from a so called premium brand.

Problem that LG has is that the bootloop fix is a replacement motherboard. Arranging for the new part to be manufactured and distributed in sufficient numbers can be a relatively slow process. The LG5 is a good phone and a worthy replacement but i don't want one if the LG customer service is so poor. Incidentally, for anyone who has the bootloop problem, try placing the G4 in the freezer. Weird as it sounds the phone powered up just long enough for me to remove personal data.

Yes your freezer tip is 100% correct as i have done the same.

My G4 was purchased from eglobal so LG UK didn't even accepted my mobile under UK warranty repair and then i had to go through eglobal which took me 6 weeks to get it repaired as they sent it back to HK to do so.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your email. Sorry for delayed response.

Unfortunately we are experiencing technical issues  and this has caused a build up in processing handsets for repair. Please be reassured we are working to resolve this issue.

Kind regards

But hey? It isn't my problem. Anyone has a tip what can I do? Or how long do I have to wait? I just can't find any information about LG repair policy.

eGlobal send phones from HK or somewhere outside the EU so it's not their fault that can't accept your device in the UK. I've had a bad experience with LG before but this is not something you can blame them for.
