OK it has its issues, but £100 for a 2016 flagship SD 820, wide angle lens camera, removable battery. A bargain i think? 12 month warranty too.

Don't think it will last long mind so be quick if you fancy one

Cracker of a deal, my wife had one before it took a swim. Definitely had its issues but easily outclasses anything at this price (IMO).
Thank you . Can you advise if this is better than the aliexpress Xiaomi mi a

The mi A1 is a good phone, stock android. Obviously that's new. But i think its fair to say the G5 has a better camera setup and of course the removable battery, specs wise I would imagine they are comparable? Maybe someone else can give a fuller response
Thanks for the headsup. What Android is the G5 on atm?

no very cheap on amazon, its not an issue but a plus, being removable means you can always carry a spare :-)
I just bought one and the battery is really bad.
Heat added. Great price

The A2 has not yet been formally released. I read up on an A2 Lite being BT certified with 3/32GB configuration but that has nfc but no mention on existence of micro sdcard (but A2 proper does not have micro sdcard nor does it have nfc).

My suggestion wrt Chinese companies is wait and see. At times they sometimes give you xyz but take away abc.

If the Oreo upgrade also unusually includes Treble Support, that would be ace but Google dont obligate OEMs to do so unless the model stsrted off with Oreo originally.

Had 3 lg's battery terrible on all of them s9 now and battery not that great on this either. But fast charge or in your case spare battery should see you through. I've not owned a phone with a decent battery or I could use my phone far too much..

The A1 will have longer support and timely updates. The g5 has better cameras, screen processor, NFC and music play back (if you get the b&o DAC module) also as battery ages, easy to install a new one. That said, if you're not too bothered by camera's, I doubt you'd notice too much difference day to day.
Bargain. Using one now. Got it for 169 musix magpie last xmas. Got replacement battery. I got mine from ebuyer but sokd out so now should use replacebase for around 12 quid

Get a replacement from replacebase
What is capacity of G5 battery? Would it be new stock (newly made) or old stock (made ages ago surplus)?

loved my G4 but after getting the bootloop senario its put me right off LG
Have a g5...only common problem with them is the gps connector gets loose on earlier models. Had mine sent and done under warranty. There do not seem to be the usual catastrophic failures in the LG G5 like.the earlier models.
Also can get the camera module, and DAC module very very cheap. The DAC especially is definitely worth it.
Replaceable battery is massive plus point. And they are fairly cheap. Battery life is similar to any other phone in it's class.
Camera quality is stunning and the main reason for me having one, as well as the speaker.
Really a superb bargain of you can snag one!

I just changed the screen on my one the other day it was less than 5 minutes to do, not to mention how good this phone is for the price. Great OP

Great phone but don't buy if you ever need to use GPS.
Just make sure they don't send you the crappier version (I think the SE?)...has a slower processor and less ram iirc.
Deal didnt last long
Loved my G4.... Went back to Samsung after it with S8 but wish I had stayed LG. Had boot loop but under warranty my brother wasn't as lucky

Several people have mentioned it on previous threads. My phone has literally never been able to pick up a GPS signal. I have never needed it particularly so I can live without it but is definitely not just me
replacement battery I bought is marked 'Perfine' and is white not yellow. I have not had any issues with battery life. Make sure you follow the instructions on how to cycle the battery for first start.

LG's software promises etc should be taken with a pinch of salt.

What kind of screen on times do you get with regular daily use? I think that's generally the easiest way to compare, as long as you're not playing games 24/7 or alternatively, leaving it in a drawer with no wifi/data/bluetooth use. I'm interested as I might pick up a used one and a couple of spare batteries. But I'm a tad concerned it might be a bit small coming from a 5.7" Sammy Note 4.

I'm a low user, as I have a tablet too. I leave everything on, brightness between 40 and 60% lasts about 1-2 days at most. use it for emails, messages, little bit of data and wifi, short calls

You can swap batteries with this quiet easily so if battery life was an issue for you, you could just pop in a charged one.

I have switched the always on display off, screen timeout set to 30seconds or a little longer.

Got a s Spigen case for it, waaaaaaay better than I was expecting, looks really nice and solid.

Use a standard type glass protector with it. The screen stupidly curves at the top, and the curved screen protectors dont stick and make the screen look rubbish.
Is there anywhere I can buy an official lg cable for this phone? There are a lot on ebay but then reviews will say that they're not official and don't fast charge. Been reading up on them a bit, a lot don't have the right specifications and can apparently damage the phone.

You just need to make sure you get one with a 56k ohm resistor. Check Amazon descriptions or buy a good brand.

Thanks, will try and find one
Mine arrived; battery is dead (I thought it would be) but a new well reviewed one on amazon was less than £15. Few marks and knocks, but functions perfectly. Bought a new official LG folio case for £10 on ebay, and the BandO dac from CEX for £15 so just under £150 all in and I am very happy and actually prefer this to the G6 due to the removable battery and traditional screen ratio

quite a few going very cheaply from private sellers on eBay if anyone is keen on one - a bargain for the price they now sell for especially if they do end up getting oreo
