Important update:
John Lewis has agreed to price-match Box.co.uk at £442.49 (for the platinum version), making it an even better deal.

Thanks to scmk3000 for suggesting price-matching with box.co.uk in his s8/s8+ deal.

Offer details:

Free LG watch style offer is available with a limited list of retailers for specific purchase dates:

John Lewis: 15/08/2017 30/09/2017

Very: 10/07/2017 31/08/2017

Ebuyer: 15/09/2017 30/09/2017

***********************************************

Phone details:

Decent phone with dust and waterproofing (IP68).

5.7” Quad HD+ (1440x2880), 18:9 ratio, screen to body ratio: 80.7%, HDR10 & Dolby Vision™

32 GB memory + microSD slot.

Snapdragon 821 chipset - performance should be comparable to Samsung Galaxy S7 I would imagine.

2 rear cameras, standard and wide angle.

2 year warranty (when bought through John Lewis)

The watch also seems to be one of the better Android Wear 2.0 watches.

Appears to be a good deal for anyone on the lookout for a smartphone and smartwatch.

I'd be nervous of the Bootloop issue with this phone, and LG have shown they're not fond of warrantys

Third the comment. LG G4 was by far one of my fave handset to date until it died. LG didn't want to know about it.

Never again LG, out of principle I will never buy from them again.

I wouldnt chance this - LG T&Cs state specific retailers and Ebay/Technolec_UK are not on there. Yes ebay protection might help, but probably not worth the chance

it's really a nice smartphone but the processor is little bit backdated so best of luck maybe someone waiting for this.

Does this suffer from a bootloop issue? My LG G4 had this so I'd assumed they would have fixed this in the newer models.

Why would you worry about that if you have a two year John Lewis warranty?

I had a g4 with bootloop an did a RMA with LG.
LG G5 has a common GPS aerial issue. (Soon to RMA) and g6 is plain and simple a g5 with a different screen resolution. Which I am not willing to pay for. Will see what the g7 looks like!

I'd be more nervous about the easy cracking lens on this. Not covered by warranty.

Ha wish that deal was for v30 that would be somethin irresistible
Similar to the Motorola + headphones deal earlier in the week. Bundling something people want with something no one wants and charging the price of the thing people want is NOT a deal. Cold.

Battery life sucks and the lcd screen is very poor. Camera processing is also quite bad even worst than it was on the G4. The oneplus 3t is a better buy. I got mine from eglobal for £317 about 2 months ago but sold it on as it was a real let down. I hear the v30 fixes all the previous issue so waiting for that.

I'm sorry but having read your comments above .... You're telling everyone that you Allowed the Repair Centre to keep Your phone for 2 Months...or 56 Days...? And you Allowed them to do this..? Surely after a reasonable Time Span...shall we say 14 Days of Not having your Phone - that was being Repaired - due to their Fault..You didn't take Further Action to either have your Phone back Repaired or Replaced...their is a Compensation issue here that would have been Addressed if it were me...The Small Claims Court & a £25 Summons for starters...I just don't understand how some people tell the world(as you described) and yet don't seem to do much....Come On..
You can sell the watch on eBay for just upwards of £100 effectively meaning that you get the phone for under £400

Unlucky. My Nexus 5x came back in 5 days including weekend. But they gave us big reason to think 10 times before buy next lg device.

Do You have B20 in this HK model? Did You get any software updates? Thanks.
Wouldn't invest £499 in a phone with last years processor and sub standard screen.New one is out soon.Only thing I'd buy LG is the washing machines and TV the phones are let down by with poor updates.
Had enough of LG phones, nexus 4 randomly turned off and my v10 is currently stuck in a bootloop along with overheating in the past and getting very hot when just using snapchat.

That right there is some weird capitalization, and half way through you seem to move into Pidgin English. Anyway, I doubt an English court has much sway over a Korean company

LG had my monitor for 3 months before ultimately failing to repair it due to discontinued parts and issuing me a refund. However for the entire 3 months I was continually assured that the fix was imminent and it would be back with me soon, had to call them each week only to be fobbed off with another excuse. Easily one of the worst customer services experiences I've ever had with any company in my whole life. I was simply being lied to over and over and the fight I had to put up to get the refund was beyond belief
I do love LG phones but had a bad experience on all of them ive tried, my G4 had a bootloop error, my G5 had a unreadable fingerprint scanner and then my g6 had the cracking lens problem..time to stay away from LG
such a brilliant and beautiful phone. I highly recommend it.
Of course the English courts have the power to bring a Korean firm to task over merchandise that does not comply with local regulations. If they sell it here, they have to comply. They most certainly do have ‘sway’.
Two people have mentioned a poor screen without specifics. What's exactly wrong with it? I've not read anything that's a common complaint.
The worst phone that i ever had!! battery drain like hell and overheat.
GPS will stop working once it gets overheat( as soon as you turn gps on you get overheat), so you have to attache it to air vent. So be prepare to use aircon in winter. So imagine yourself in middle of somewhere busy, gps it stopped working.

The good side:
Fast and smooth, take amazing photos.
LG phones are poop

price match
I bought the Korean model for £305 - Dual sim and Quad DAC sound ( sounds great via headphones ). All models have HDR Dolby vision screens which looks great IMO . I personally think its a brilliant phone and well worth the price (with the watch).
Clearly not a £500 phone. I thought it was ok value when eglobal were selling it for just over £300.
Was so tempted to ungraded from my first ever LG the G4 which has been awesome. BUT the notification light thing swayed me back to Samsung and went S8 though the phone is good the text on screen in notification bars and generally around the phone is tiny the folder icons are pretty unrecognizable until you press on them
£500. Jesus,, that's a hell of a profit margin.

I had a nexus 5x, promised myself if never buy anything LG branded again. Phone wouldn't switch on and LG tried to claim it was water damage! Never been near water.
Will John Lewis price match the coupon on the Tesco site?

I've gone from a G4 to an S8 as well. There's an app called periscope, on the G4 you could fry an egg on the phone when it was running, the S8 just calmly does it's job :-)
Honor for the win.
