sooo tempted to buy this as a gift, but the reviews mention that Android takes up almost 6GB of the internal memory, its only a matter of time before the low storage message appears and its doesn't last a full day so remember to pack a charger or powerbank

Great phone, yes the memory fills up quick and even with a 32gb micro sd card you cant transfer much to it. but good for the price

As it's Android 6 doesn't the memory work much better and allows apps on the sd card?

Never buy an 8gb phone. Just not worth it. 16is probably the barest minimum now.

yes, but some apps can't be transferred to the memory card, they can only be run from the internal memory. i had a moto g3, even with 2-3gb of internal storage available, i was constantly finding issues, even after installing marshmallow. i now have the moto g4, much smoother, far more internal storage and no issues

You've missed their point. With Android 6.0 SD cards can be used AS internal memory, making the internal memory issue go away.

I've finally (after several days of research) got adoptable storage up and running on this horribly hobbled phone with a useless 8GB of storage.

If you want to try it yourself, here's the source of information:
instructables.com/id/…ot/

Once (if?) you get it working - you then need to move all of your installed apps manually to SD Card in the app setting of the storage settings.

None of the default apps appear to be moveable - well perhaps if the phone is rooted but mine isn't.

The latest OS on new phones take around 6gb on most phones so 16gb should be minimum
