Also available with the magic remote in the special offers for £384.98

Shame it's only 50hz but it's a really decent price.

Same price at Currys, Amazon & Richer Sounds...

Got this tv earlier this week. Picture very good, connected to wireless instantly, easy to navigate even with the standard remote (also got an app to control it via my ipad/phone) but sound is pretty poor. Def need a sound bar or surround sound system to get a true sound. excellent price though.

I agree with Stevied321, I bought this from john lewis last week. I have a surround system that I run it through so the sound is not a problem. I bought the magic remote also from john lewis ( they give a two year guarantee on that) and it is much easier than the standard remote. I also downloaded the iPad app and that works really well.

nice find

Theres no stock anywhere between bristol and oxford, Good Luck finding one

I have found it in Northern Ireland, but unfortunately not with the magic remote - it doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere in Northern Ireland!

whats it like for gaming?

I also got this TV from John Lewis. Agree with other comments, picture is very good. Sound not amazing but that's not really an issue for me.

Set up is really easy, you dont really need the magic remote as the app works really well. No built in ITV player or 4OD (only iplayer, 5 on demand, netflix) but you can bookmark these from within the TV web browser so not an issue. I only use an indoor aerial and it picks up a great HD freeview signal. If you set your PC up with media server software (such as Plex, Serviio) then you can stream video content from PC to TV easily (over wi-fi).

Gaming is good so far, Fifa looked good, and Assasins Creed Black Flag very impressive! No noticable lag for me. Heat added.

itv player is exclusive to samsung tv's currently though its due to expire this year and 4od is exclusive aswell i think.

Got one from Amazon for £369.99 on Wednesday (just been delivered) but notice it has gone up to £449 today. Also got the Magic Remote for half price and you also can claim free NOW TV vouchers for Sky Sports & Movies from LG.

Replaced a Toshiba 40" from Tesco which we returned due to backlight issues. Won't get chance to properly set up the LG till tomorrow, but checked the backlighting and it is very even unlike the Tosh'.

Just noticed an added bonus with this - and not documented on the packaging or manuals - is that it also includes a satellite tuner as well

50Hz? But the 39" version of the same model is 100Hz? hotukdeals.com/dea…e=2

If you read the Q&A they say its 100HZ

Argos deals are such BS, not in stock hardly anywhere, so cold.

4OD isn't exclusive. It's on my £10 NOW TV box and on my PS3. A lot of Blu-ray players have smart TV type stuff these days. May be better to get a cheap TV like this and a descent Blu-ray player.

Sounds a like like Tesco deals to me :-/

Neither the 39 or 42 are true 100Hz, it refers to 'motion clarity index' or in other words a processing trick to give smoother motion effects. The same is true of other brands that claim similar performance in this price range. You have to spend somewhat more for a true 100Hz panel.

Well I am sitting watching mine now after getting from argos this evening!!

Loving this set. Brilliant picture. Plays everything from a USB drive! Love that I can use my YouTube app on my phone to control what's plying on my tv and streaming via free apps. PS3 looks mint. Defo needs a sound bar or similar though. Bargain at the price. Cancelling my Virgin sub tomorrow and going with NowTv. Love controlling everything from one remote!!

Why? Do consoles output 100hz these days?

Nah but the samsung tv i seen looked amazing at 100hz so would be nice to future proof it.

Why do you assume it's for use with a console? I'm searching for a large TV for PC gaming.. And 50hz is an instant no.

99.9% of gamers on HDTVs use consoles, that's why I'd assume that. Plus it would be 60Hz, as that's what consoles put out generally these days. If a TV is not capable of 60Hz then that's a big no-no for any type of gaming.

This TV is not available anywhere under £399.00 The sales price is exactly the same ,to the penny ,at every seller in the country .It's a price fix .

Checked stock in Argos stores across the country on last day of "sale". All showed out of stock. Day after sale ended and this TV went up to over 400 quid, suddenly all stores in stock! So they must have had stock all along, but didn't want to sell it at reduced price.

Does anybody know what type of panel the 42" version of this TV has - is it IPS or something else??
