Thanks for this, it's just what I'm looking for and the price seems excellent. Have checked personal reviews on other sites and it seems to have a general big thumbs up. Snow melting warmth added.

does this monitor have DVI or not? also can anyone recommend a good graphics card with hdmi and dvi out in the region of 50 smackaroos?

No DVI by the looks of it. Although you could use a HDMI-DVI converter/adapter/cable (with the correct genders). Same with the graphics card I think.

How 'good' does the graphics card need to be? Does it need to be silent / suitable for games at high resolutions or both? The more specific you can be, the better.

well media center use really so just playing back hi def movies well, with 2 outputs, reasonably silent, i got my eyes on this ]http//ww…iew

Looks suitable, but there are ]'silent' ones for less.

which ones in particular, remembering i would like dvi and hdmi one for 42" tv and one for this monitor

thanks just one more, exactly why are these silent? and how do i get free delivery from scan i am a member at avforums but cant see how i get the free del.

It has a passive cooler, i.e., no cooling fan - this being the main/only culprit for noise from a graphics card.

Log into AV Forums, then view the free delivery page (link in previous post). There'll be a link at the bottom to log in / register at Scan - follow it, log in (or register first, then log in), add the item to your basket & it should remove the delivery charge automatically.
