Posting this as I have bought one myself in the last couple of weeks, and personally think it is a bit of a bargain. RRP was £70, but has been reduced to £39.99 @ Comet.

This microwave was a Which Best Buy in their Feb report - they said "Excellent at automatic cooking, exceptional value. You can rely on this LG model to do a good job when you use its pre-set cooking and de-frosting programs. Uniquely among our solo Best Buys, the LG produces first class pasta when cooked using its specially pre-set program."

I have found it to be an excellent machine, cooking and heating well, with some nice extra features. It looks pretty smart too.

Price shown is for reserve and collect - delivery is an extra £5.95 - in which case this microwave would be cheaper @ Amazon, where it is £44.99 incl supersaver delivery. Even if the website shows no availability for reserve and collect near you, I was told that it is possible to order and pay in store, and have it delivered free to that store for collection.

Trying to convince myself i need one of these heat and rep given.

i think this is the same model we have!

it's been great apart from the really annoying ' beep beep' you keep getting every minute or so if you don't open the microwave door once the food is ready !

This is about £45 in sainsburys, but regularly 20% off down to £38 odd..that is what I paid.
Does the job

..........

Sounds like a good reason to avoid it then

I like those extra beeps - they have samed me from leaving a cup of tea in there more than once when I would otherwise have forgotten................

It was in the shop at 1 and helping to heat the gravy at 1:30, good spot.

thanks mate

Which had 15 microwaves in their best buys and the LG rated 14th best - but obviously this is still a best buy - and was against some 400 quid microwaves.

Uniquely among our solo Best Buys, the LG produces first class pasta when cooked using its specially pre-set program. It's generally very good at de-frosting food but we found that its automatic de-frosting program was better at thawing food than manually programming the machine yourself. When cooking manually the LG cooks evenly and at a steady temperature so it's well able to cook one dish straight after another and at the same temperature. However food cooked manually isn't quite as good as that produced in our other solo Best Buys.It comes with a silver grey finish and the touch-controls are very easy to wipe clean even if they are not labelled too clearly. We found it quite hard to remove the turntable when cleaning the machine but at £40 it represents exceptional value. It's available from major high street and online retailers.Pros: Excellent at automatic cooking, exceptional value.Cons: Labelling of the control panel could be clearer and it's not easy to remove the turn table to clean it.LG MS1942ES informatiPrice (£) 40Score (%) 69 Best BuyAvailability Limited availability online and on the high streetFeaturesSpecificationType SoloContactsContact phone number 0870 873 5454Contact web address http://uk.lge.com/index.doSpecificationBuilt-in NoExternal dimensions (HxWxD) 28x46x33Max plate size (cm) 27RatingsPerformanceSpeed of cooking 3 out of 5 stars: satisfactoryQuality of food 3 out of 5 stars: satisfactoryEvenness of cooking 4 out of 5 stars: goodDefrost 4 out of 5 stars: goodEase of use 3 out of 5 stars: satisfactorySight 4 out of 5 stars: goodDexterity 3 out of 5 stars: satisfactoryChicken Not ratedGrill Not ratedAuto buttonsPotato 3 out of 5 stars: satisfactoryPasta 5 out of 5 stars: excellentCurry 1 out of 5 stars: very poorAuto defrost Click for more information 5 out of 5 stars: excellent

I have this model too. This one only beeps a few times repeatedly to remind you, after cooking.

The previous LG microwave/grill I had beeped *forever* until you opened it. Nagging microwaves drive me mad. Though I know some people like it. :-D

Thank you, bought one today

cheers for this, just ordered one as my microwave is about 10 years old lolol and about to blow up i think

I had the same problem - my old microwave was tripping the RCD out every time I went near it!

This looks like the same model as this one on Amazon for £39.99

amazon.co.uk/exe…6QE

However, like Comet, it is currently out of stock but I've ordered anyway and will see what they quote for an estimated delivery date. I can always cancel if it is a long time.

forgot to update ppl

i got the microwave a few days after i ordered it.

its abit smaller than my old one but all the plates etc still fit perfectly inside

its abit light though which i find a problem when trying to open the door it goes out of place

all in all a nice microwave,

yus
