Is this worth the extra £40 over the single sound bar on here that usually gets heat at £55 in terms of sound?
Shame we have a Samsung TV. Probably going to have to buy a full price samsung soundbar. Never had one before, but new TV and struggled to hear what people were saying on a film.

For sure, single sound bars have little to no bass

I have the £55 one and a set up with a sub. It really depends on your viewing environment. Yes the sub sounds fantastic but my neighbours would not appreciate it blasting at all hours. For a substantial set up over stock tv speakers the £55 is excellent value. I switch over for big movies when I can shake the house
I never realised overheating was an issue with sound bars oO
no audio jack for chromecast audio connection? any other solution to get it castable?
Better buy a home theatre system with speakers for little more.
sinxa

No you still need to plug it in via hdmi or optic to lg

You do not need any cable to connect to most of the recent LG TVs, as long as they support LG's Wireless Sound Sync.

I just connect via Bluetooth and use Google Play Music.
Had this for a while and compared to others I've had I found this very good for the price!

And I hooked mine up to my Samsung TV with no problems!

What's it like for dialogue? I tried others - Sony, Bose, with sound presets but didn't make much difference - still couldn't hear what they were saying in films etc
I'm tempted by this but the Which? review of only 54% puts me off. At 320W they say it's lacking in power! oO

I have 320W and barely ever go over 35/100 in volume. no issues with sound here. And my room is bigger than the average.

ChromeCast audios have an optical output which is actually much better as no noise goes through (unlike via the 3.5mm analog). Not sure about this soundbar, but my LG one has the option to automatically switch on from optical input which makes it a bonus when I cast music to my Google Cast Audio device.
You just need to get yourself a mini toslink cable or if you already have a space optical cable, get an adapter like this one.

Note: I've not hunted for the cheapest cable, just got the first results out of a Google search.

This particular model does NOT have a HDMI in/out so not good. Reason for its price.

thats not true, you need a power supply, but the audio will transmit wirelessly
Sounds bar are rubbish , unless you spent a lot of cash! (I have brought a few)
And why we have to have all these slim TVs , with rubbish speakers I never know! Guess just another way to sell rubbish to people!

I have an OLED C6V 65 inch , it doesn't work with wireless sound sync
Great Spot, ordered for my son. Optical is perfect as it is only 2.1. The wireless Sub is a bonus too. Plus he can use the Bluetooth with his phone, tablet and laptop. There is no need for HDMI on a soundbar unless it has more channels than 5.1. Heat added.

My LG sound bar wouldn't connect wirelessly to my LG TV. Bluetooth only and although my tv is wireless it is not Bluetooth. If you read the spec it says wireless via Bluetooth same as my LG sound bar.

I think you will find the reason for its price is it's actually a very old sound bar. This model came out in 2014 and it's original retail price in Curry's was £229.99. I nearly bought this when i bought my LG TV in the Christmas sales 2014 so that's why it's cheap. It is a very nice looking sound bar but i went for the much newer model with HDMI purchased half price from euronics for £129.99.

The model posted is a very good sound bar especially for the price. It makes no difference that it hasn't got hdmi. It will still be fine using a fibre cable. Best sound i have heard though in a long time is the set up my brother in law has. He has his TV plugged into an amp from a Sony music system from the 90's with four speakers. No HDMI, no Bluetooth, lots of wires (hidden) = amazing sound. Far better than most sounbars. Think this music system was made before the word digital sound, soundbar, etc were even thought of. Technology may have moved on in some areas but has moved backwards in others.

Is this silver or black?

silver is a shame as all my TV stuff is black

debating getting this as have an ageing LG DVD 5.1 system at the moment. it's ok but it's started clipping and popping recently and can't work out why

It's colour is described as gun metal same as my tv. Its not a bright silver and more like a dark grey. It's actually the same colour as my sky+ HD box which is stood on top of my black LG Bluray. Doesn't look out of place if that helps.
