I am an OLED owner and would say Screen Burn is something you don’t need to worry about... except these are ex-display and likely to have been run on Vivid HDR settings 12 hours a day. Wouldn’t touch these even with the warranty. May as well spend £100-200 extra for brand new IMO. Don’t mean to put this post down OP, sorry!

no, that's fine! The whole purpose for this post is to see if it's worth it buying. I called one of the store to know for how long it is on display and they confirmed it as November last year. So it has been around 7 months on display. Just thinking if I should buy this C8 modal or brand new B8 modal from Costco for the same price (or spend £245 more on C8 which I've price matched with JL), Any advice would help? TIA!

What he said!

Totally agree, you don't know how many hours they have done on display @ max brightness.

Checked one of the store, so its 7 months on display 8 hours everyday running planet earth bluray. But they say it comes with 5 years warranty and is like new. The brand new is £500 more at their store but I can get from JL for 235 more.
Fellow OLED owner here. I'd also spend the extra couple of hundred to get a brand new one. Richer sounds often have voucher codes that take another £150-200 off their online prices.

@Mercurius which OLED you have, just wondering if its worth to spend extra on C8 than B8?

I opted for the B8, but specifically the PLA model for its stand, which I prefer over the SLC stand. That's meant I needed to get mine from Currys, but that worked out okay as I can buy vouchers with an 8% discount.

I moved from a Pioneer Kuro plasma and while it took a while to get used to the reduced motion resolution, the colours, brightness and blacks are incredible. Very happy with mine so far (only had it a few weeks).

Kuro master race unite! Currently wondering what to do with my 5090h. I hate to think what will happen to it if I move it into the kids playroom! In my head Indiana Jones is telling me "It belongs in a museum!"
Think I'd rather pay 1499 of a brand new B8

Are you feeling ok? Of course you do, it’s an OLED

Nope, not at all. Not in my 18 months of ownership. Then again, I don’t have any kids so CBeebies isn’t constantly on haha.

We wouldn’t judge if you still chose to watch it though
I end up buying from Crampton & Moore ebay store for £1549 (with £100 ebay discount). It was 14 days customer return with 5 years warranty. Called them and they confirmed it’s spotless like new, will see when it comes!
