Retailers are extending their return policies for Christmas: Full List of Shops Extending Returns Policies for Christmas

Hopefully this satisfies all those waiting for the prices to come down a bit! You could sometimes get this TV for between £800 and £830 before Christmas but for some reason we've seen retailers keep prices around £1000+ for the last 4 months.

Normal question is whether to get the C1 or the C2. The CS is between them, so better than the C1. It has the a9 processor from 2022 but doesn't have the screen from the C2. Please do your own research what this means for you, but previous posts have said unless the TV is in a conservatory then the extra brightness on the C2 screen isn't needed.

Its now £600 off reducing the price to £899 direct at LG. If you sign up to their newsletter you get both a discount fit being an LG member down to £881, and then you get a 5% off first purchase code reducing it down to £837.88.

Delivery is free to mainland UK.

Specs:

LG 4K SELF-LIT OLED for infinite contrast & 100% colour fidelity
Designed for an exceptional gaming, movie and sport viewing experience
HDMI 2.1 Spec, 0.1ms response time & low input lag for superfast gameplay
Dolby Vision IQ for true-to-life picture & Dolby Atmos for immersive sound
Smart platform with Freeview Play, Netflix, Disney+ and more

    Nice deal !
There's such little information / reviews about this TV - only that what's already mentioned about the processor/panel.
Would love to see a full in-depth review from the likes of rtings or something similar.

I have this TV and it’s basically a budget LG C2
It’s a brilliant TV, it’s better than the C1 and doesn’t have the extortionate price of the C2. The CS is a C2 but with a C1 panel

Anyone who has a works perks type scheme, currently LG have an offer against TV's. However the 1 year warrenty is a concern, and doubt RS/Currys would match down to this level.

Can bring this down to under £720 (+delivery).

I can't see LG on the perksatwork site when I login. how did you do it? tx!

Spoke to LG chat. It's an offer for this weekend only and is only 12mth warranty. That makes it cold for me. The 2023 series is now becoming available so I suspect this will be the standard price soon so wait for Richer Sounds to reduce and get the 6yr warranty.

Or Richer Sound can price match

Bought the c2 evo 55” from JL in November.5 year warranty.£979. (edited)
    gummby's avatar
You sure it wasn't the C1? It's never been £899 unless your got a personal offer?
  5. gasc2188's avatar
Very tempted by this deal, but the base is too wide for my TV unit . Shame it's not available with different base options.
    jimel's avatar
It has VESA mounts, you could buy a generic stand for it
  6. MagnificentNo7's avatar
Extremely tempted by this :/ the worrying thing for me is that LG are only offering a 1 year warranty. I've never owned an OLED and screen burn in is a worry after reading so many comments and reviews. The sony A80j the C1 and now the CS are all round about the same price....just can't decide what to go for.
    P1121's avatar
Could get currys to price match this deal with their longer warranty? And then if want potentially even longer warranty (and probably better customer service) could see if Richer Sounds would price match the Currys price match?

Bear in mind none of these warranties cover screen burn. If you want protection against that then will cost more as you need to buy at John Lewis and purchase their protect plus accidental damage cover which also covers screen burn.
(Or buy a G2 from any retailer as LG covers cost of panel for screen burn for 5 years- although in year 2-5 you still need to pay the labour). (edited)

Im in the market for a tv for next gen gaming and tv looking for 65" and looking to spend upto and hopefully south of £1000

any tv gurus got any recommendations?
    Met-Cast's avatar
Impossible at that size and 120Hz without spending above £1k. I'd say stretch a bit and wait for 65" CS to drop. It was around £1100 in December/Feb. (edited)
  8. Met-Cast's avatar
Where are the 65” LG deals
    SkipRat's avatar
yeah im with you, looking for a 65" panel for tv and gaming with next gen consoles so I believe hdmi 2.1 and 120hz are a must
  9. Jamie_D89's avatar
Managed to get it for 705

They all have 4x 2.1 HDMI slots so not sure it will matter too much? Think they all have 120hz panel frequency. C2 may have a few better updated parts. CS and C2 have the A9 gen 5 processor where the C1 has the A9 gen 4.

C1 and CS are similar build structure as both 18.9kg. Where C2 only weighs 12.9kg.

How different the panels are is another discussion. WBC vs WBE evo. They may all come with WBE panels now. It's possible the C2 has other features but are they worth £250 more? How many can really tell difference between the old Cx and C2 panels? C3 are now for sale on LG website but come at a £2057 price for members. Really not sure it's worth over double the price.
  12. P1121's avatar
The poster above mentioned John Lewis having briefly had 55 C2 at £979 a few months ago, thats probably the best price 55 C2 has been from a big retailer so far?
Prices now on C2 and G2 are holding up too high at the moment, partly because of models like CS, and C1 still being sold at a price which prevents the 2's dropping to that sort of level too often.
I heard some of the more recent build Sony A80j's have been found to now have the new panel, (the TV not really designed to utilise it though so not pushing it bright like C2 does), A80k also is restrained in its brightness with new panel according to rtings. The old A80j showing up with new panel makes sense as can't imagine LG display continuing production of both types. I would think all production will have been focussed on the new type for a while now, so I wonder if some CS TV's could now show up with the new panel, or if LG Electronics have an old panel stock pile and then they'll pull CS model once old panels exhausted?
The wider release for sale soon of C3 and G3 models might force down prices of C2&G2 as they are relegated to being old models? G3 might be a game changer too in terms of brightness for an OLED so might be worth waiting for.
Im still undecided on the whole, so trying to suppress my FOMO in hope of better things to come! 🤞

Kinda wondered why LG released the CS model
in the first place. It’s like they were left with loads of C1 panels and decided to use them up putting in the later processor.

Still a good TV for the right price.

Any warranty information would b great
  15. chancooluk's avatar
Had mine from Hughes at £799 last year. It's been excellent, a noticeable upgrade from the LG A1 I had before.
    Limmy's avatar
What aspects were noticeably better? I've a B7 and on the fence about just using it until it dies but got a bonus from work
  16. NAZGULL's avatar
So for gaming (ps5) C2 would be the best? As still don't know which OLED would be best
    chancooluk's avatar
C2 is brighter, slightly. Otherwise this has all the same features and processing as the C2.
  17. Ouzoherb's avatar
I got the c2 48 evo for £789 in Nov

same for me that base is just massive. ill hold out for a decent c2 deal

You can get the C3 model (2023 model of the 'C' level specification) - OLED55C34LA - now for £2099 on LG.com/uk now.

£2057 with members discount and less again with the 5%, assuming that works.
  20. andylol's avatar
Could currys or richer sounds / other places price match this?
    andylol's avatar
Just asked Currys, yes they'll match it, but only to £899.98. Can't match the LG membership price / 5% first order discount (£837.88).

Still seems like a better deal as currys has way longer guarantee (edited)

I have this TV, albeit the 65 inch version. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Cost me £1079 from RS back in December.
  22. Amazonianman's avatar
WOW! Cracking deal and a slap in the face to all the Hinsense Nonsense plaguing these forums!
    rev6's avatar
    Lol what you mean?
  23. BiscuitBachchan's avatar
Good TV but if spending this much would see if there are any deals for the C2 coming soon with the 2023 C3 TV coming out.

Not a every day purchase so would try to get the Best available rather than settle for a older panel.
    gummby's avatar
Not sure what LG will do with the older models. The 55 inch range seem the sweet spot. The old G1 models have already been put to bed. LG will want a budget range over next few months. See what happens. Could get a CS2 later in year? Or will the C1/CS stick around?
  24. Deal_searcher's avatar
Only 12 months warranty from LG. Quite a disappointment. 5 years are for their G2 model
  25. mart321's avatar
Not too excited about this deal. Very little information about the TV and it states it was £800 before Christmas. Add to that the lack of 5 year warranty.

Not a hot deal really. (edited)
    Deal_searcher's avatar
Add on the fact that previous LG oleds had a common power board failure and who knows whether it is worth the risk

"Save 20% on OLED LG TVs" discount code available on my rewardgateway through work

That's awesome, nice one! I hadn't realised LG didn't offer a 5 year warranty at time of posting (in the absense of info I'd naturally assumed the manufacturer would give a good warranty) so it's great people have been able to get Curry's to price match, and even Richer Sounds to price match the Curry's match!

Some great prices with staff benefits portal too.

Hopefully we'll see RS, Curry's and the rest of the market start selling these at what we can consider fairer prices (800-830 or even lower now we're in 2023)
