Great deal for those looking for a OLED TV.

Although you can get it cheaper at AO.com, the warranty and customer service is far better from Richersounds. I wouldn't want to spend this much on a TV and have no extended warranty.

- 12 months SKY Q
- 6 Year Warranty
- Great Customer Service
- 10 months interest free credit

Whilst I know for some the OLED is pricey, I've got a Samsung KS7000 which is good but the viewing angle is terrible and light bleed significant in darker rooms.

Maybe not the TV for competitive gamers due to input lag (which may have been resolved with recent update).

I am banking on there being some open box at the local Richer Sounds after Christmas! Hopefully they would still come with the Sky Q as well....

Open box is a good option but I think you usually only get 12 months warranty with them, definitely worth paying a little more for the warranty on OLED Screens.

Depends on the saving...I get where you are coming from but it's a risk vs reward situation.

Yeah you're right, but the minute you get a dead pixel on month 13 it's sad times...

I don't really understand why people praise Richer Sound's service so much. I've never had good service from their Liverpool store - always snobbish and extremely curt. I've stopped buying anything from them now as I wouldn't want to deal with them should anything go wrong. John Lewis on the other hand I can't praise enough.

hot, good to see prices coming down with OLED, could be further drop before xmas?
dk if i'm ready to change my Panasonic plasma just yet but will someday and it definitely will be to OLED rather then LED, there must be 1000's in same boat.
I have a feeling manufacturers are playing a waiting game, other side of xmas maybe?

There does seem to be a bit of an unusual price war going on with this set, John Lewis have fluctuated their price on this TV a few times. It's dropped to this price on their site a few times.

Samsung are reportedly developing their OLED technology but I believe it's further development with the Quantum Dot tech. Apparently the OLED TVs cost a lot to manufacture as they harder to make and they end up with a lot of wastage, hence why some manufacturers could be steering clear for now.

As for waiting for lower prices - last years sets bottomed out new at around £1500 and they started to go out of stock online at the price I think.

Yep same here, Panasonic plassma user. Even my parent's house Samsung LCD has a pretty good picture But I really want the C6V series because it has 3D and was less that 2K but Currys is the exclusive supplier and I generally have a policy of anywhere except Currys. They've even put the price up for some stupid reason.

How robust is the Richer Sounds guarantee vs the John Lewis guarantee?

yes but unfortunately for consumers by the time this set comes down to an acceptable level (maybe £1200 or so)
LG will have moved on to new models!

Yep. I'm one!

why is this very cold, can this be bought cheaper? some reviews had this @ £2700.
I could get this 10% cheaper through Tesco staff but the 6yr warranty as opposed to 1yr is a deal breaker?
feel sorry for o.p. this could deter them from posting deals in future!

Ordered this set from Currys yesterday priced at £1899 through Topcashback giving 6.6% cashback
Also used discount code CE25 for a further £25 off.
Only problem I encountered is that my Topcashback account is showing £14.31 payable! which I've logged a ticket with them as it should be £123.68 bringing the cost of the TV down to £1750.32
Only issue I'm concerned about is that they aren't going to investigate this until the 3rd Jan 2017 grrrr.
I'm tempted to cancel the order and wait to see if there are any Christmas/New Year deals on this set from other suppliers such as Richersounds/John Lewis etc???

Currys after sales is notoriously bad. There definatley is scope for these TVs to come down £100/150 in the next few months...they dropped from £2500 since release this year.

Hi there,

I saw your comments on the thread and was obviously most concerned to read you’ve previously experienced poor service at our Liverpool store.

Customer Service is our number one priority so it’s of course disappointing to read of any occasion where we have a dissatisfied customer.

So that I may investigate further and resolve the matter to your satisfaction would you be so kind as to PM me with your contact details?

Once again, I offer my apologies, I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Many Thanks

Richer Sounds

bought one of these from Richer Sounds on Black Friday. Has dropped £1 since. If it keeps dropping at that rate then I'm happy with the price I paid

TV is awesome by the way Upgraded from a 7 year old Panasonic plasma.

£1799.00 at currys/pc world with code TV100
