P.S if you wanted to save more
Check out Bupa Rewards (Anyone can join) to get 7% off e-voucher for Currys (Might want to check if this will work along side TCB)

Cold for me as same price as currys BUT you have a chance of getting £100 Cashback.

I wonder why all retailers are really pushing the LG OLED's compared to any other manufacturers. Heat added.

It will be LG dropping their prices. Hopefully Sony and Samsung will react and respond with a price war.

The Sony XE9005 is also a very good TV and worth keeping an eye out for.

Would also like to add that if you buy at £1499 from Curry’s online via Barclays cashback, you can get 10% cashback (so long as you don’t use any codes) making it cheaper than this. Obviously being a Barclays customer limits this slightly to everyone but makes it cheaper than this by £149.

Would I have to pay with my Barclays debit card for this to work or can I use another card (credit card)? I purchased something via the blue rewards online at JD sport but nothings tracked?! I paid by MasterCard mind you so not sure if it's Barclays debit only...

Also is it worth paying the extra £100 for the 55 inch E7 model which is currently £1599.00?

The E7 model is available for he same price. So unless you hate the sound bar that’s attached to the E7 then you should buy the E7. They NEED to drop the price of this set below 1500. It’s been at 1500 on and off in deals for AGES. It’s time it dropped to near the 1k mark!

Cold from me could get the E7 for £1500 the other day. I can see the B7/C7 being about £1200-1300 on Friday.

I’d file a missing cashback claim. This is from the T&C’s when I login for BlueRewards.

You must access the retailer’s website through the cashback shopping site to be eligible for cashback. You should not go directly to the retailer’s website. Participating retailers and offers will be shown on the site and the cashback amount may vary depending on the retailer.

Every time you access a participating retailer’s site via the cashback shopping site we will apply a cookie to your computer or mobile device so that we know that you’ve accessed the retailer’s site and that you will be eligible for cashback. Please see the cookies section of the terms, below for more details. You will be subject to the respective retailer’s terms and conditions so please check these for details on delivery and cancellation policies and any variation to specific cashback rates for specific particular goods or services offered by the retailer.

You can pay for your purchase with any debit or credit card or payment method shown on the retailer’s website.

Barclays will earn commission from any cashback-eligible purchase you make, but this will always be less than the amount of cashback being paid to you, and will not affect the cost of your purchase.

£1499 for the E7 was a stonking deal only seen it this morning.
As with all 2017 LG OLED's i think the screen is the same on each set so I dont think the models like the E7 are worth the premium over the B7/C7 even tho theres a sound bar but at the reduced cost over weekend it's a no brainer.
Seems to be a massive push on the LG OLED's at min and I think the C7 will go lower hopefully for me just a shame it's a Curry's only model as there customer service is rhubarb

The same places are still seemingly willing to do the E7 for 1499 if you ask them. There was also a C7 on here earlier for 1349.10. Big question is, will somewhere like JL price match the E7 but then also allow for 500 cashback from LG in December, effectively making it 999 for the E7? Seems too good to be true but worth a punt.

I've actually got my eye on the 65inch 9305 but price hasn't dropped yet. Xe9005 is still a great set though.

LG doing big discounts to their 2017 OLEDs in the USA including $800 off the B7A equivalent to the OP's model. Am guessing this will happen here too: engadget.com/201…nt/

The XE90 is far better than the XE8 Series. The reason being is the XE90's have Full Array Local Dimming (FALD) so the backlight of the TV's is across the entire TV panel directly behind the LED's, instead of being lit from the edge like most currently are.

This puts them almost on par with OLED's in terms of blacks but not quite as good.

Last year the best in class for high, mid range TV's was probably Samsungs KS 7/8/9000's, but this year Samsung have dropped the ball.

Sonys XE90's are the new best in class, they sit just below the LG OLED's in terms of quality, which are the best, but if you're talking £400-500 cheaper than the LG B7/C7 OLED's then suddenly they become £ for £ one of the best TV's you can get.

I'm sorry, but no LED backlit LCD can compare to OLED.

You cant get blacker than no light which is what and OLED can do, but 2 reviews measured the XE9005 at 0.033 cd/m2 (nits) and 0.015 cd/m2.

The standard for Ultra HD Premium with HDR is below 0.05 nits, so its more than good enough for dark blacks.

I know what you are saying, but I had a panasonic 802 side by side with my B6 and it wasn't even close. Tested with lots of HDR 4k and HD content, OLED wins hands down, well worth extra £500 imo.

Perhaps, but I've never bought from Richer Sounds before and have always had a good experience with John Lewis.

Has nobody seen Currys ratings on topcashback... This asides from their woeful customer service if there's a problem.
I've been in a couple of times about buying this tv and the older b6 model in the past year, and based on their in-store customer service alone i wouldn't use them on such a big purchase.
Would much rather buy from Richer sounds who specialise in audio visual only and try their best to sort problems and retain custom. Maybe i'm just a mug.
Have a look into Currys "5 year warranty" too, that's if you do pass the challenge of eventually get it from them!
