For the best in image realism, OLED technology is still king. See the difference for yourself, with the LG OLED55B8S.

OLED – the gold standard for TV

Highly developed by LG, OLED TV technology remains at the forefront of image quality. Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) TV offers the most advanced picture quality currently available. Unlike LED screens, OLED doesn't require backlighting, so the colour is consistent right across the screen, with greatly enhanced contrast levels.

Alpha 7 processor – for enhanced picture processing
This LG TV features their advanced Alpha 7 processor. This provides improved processing over and above a quad-core chip. With the more powerful processing comes improved picture quality. Advantages including enhanced image rendering, improved shadow details and smoother motion, all giving a more realistic image than ever.

The widest range of HDR support with Active HDR
LG continue their wide range of HDR support with this flexible TV. Advanced HDR by Technicolor offers reference levels of image and colour accuracy. As well as Advanced HDR, this 55" LG TV also offers decoding for HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision. HDR10 is widely used on UHD gaming consoles from Sony and Microsoft. HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma HDR) is a broadcast and user generated standard format that is set to become the standard for transmitting 4K signals.

Dolby Vision for dramatic imaging
Dolby Vision optimises the HDR format to give quite simply the sharpest, most accurate images possible. Dolby vision-equipped TVs, like this LG, can decode both generic HDR content and content that's specifically been encoded in Dolby Vision - a leading format in Hollywood and cinemas. Dolby Vision also adjusts the picture to take full advantage of each display's characteristics and presents an optimized picture for each scene in specially mastered content.

High Frame Rate Support via OTT*
High Frame Rate (HFR) support at up to 4K/120fps means the potential for smoother images with incredible realism. With a variety of films filmed in HFR since the ground-breaking The Hobbit of 2012, this is the future of movie technology. The technology is also available on some TV shows and is especially impressive with sport. *OTT means that HFR is supported Over The Top using apps such as Netflix 4K. It is not available via HDMI inputs on this TV or simultaneously with HDR.

Part of the unique ThinQ AI system for effortless control
LG’s unique artificial intelligence system brings together a wide range of products under intuitive control. For your TV this means intelligent voice control and the ability to seamlessly work with third party services from Google and Amazon. The more LG ThinQ AI products you have around the home the more seamless and integrated the control becomes.

webOS Smart system now with Google Assistant
The award-winning LG webOS smart TV system is already one of the most highly-rated in the industry. Powerful but user-friendly, webOS makes Smart TV even smarter. Now featuring Google Assistant, webOS just got even better. Google Assistant is capable of changing the channel and input via voice command. It also integrates with services such as Google Photos and Google Maps to make your TV an even greater source of entertainment.

Freeview Play for catch-up TV
Freeview Play makes catch-up TV easy. Find programmes from BBC iPlayer, the ITV Hub, All4 and Demand 5 sitting alongside over 60TV Channels and up to 15 HD channels. Simply scroll back in your TV guide to watch shows you missed from the last 7 days. Just make sure your TV is connected to the internet and you're good to go.

Don’t settle for less. Go for the best, with the LG OLED55B8S.

If you phone them, They'll probably do the PLA model for same price. Better speakers etc..
Brilliant TV. If anyone bits jist remember to turn off all of the post processing settings (trumotion and all that rubbish) also set sharpness to a pretty low setting
I have this, great telly and definitely worth the grand.
Just ask Richer to price beat Crampton and Moore by £10 who also list it at £999 to make it £989.
richersounds.com/inf…eat

cramptonandmoore.co.uk/tel…tml

Then it has got to be worth phoning Crampton and Moore to see if they want to beat it as they also offer a price match in the link above
Agreed go PLA. This will be quiet.

Richer sounds have been morons over my lg oled. Had my ps4 in hdmi 4. And it started to nit show without a tv or ps4 on n off reboot. They just said changed the port... £1500 of tv but ok ill forget a ports fudged. They finally had it fixed when the thing started to do more hinky stuff. But the perfectly working panel got replaced. I assume damaged in transit. And the new panel had a dead pixel within 20 days. And they said the placement was not within the threshold to fix. Luckily it powered itself off so was still playing up enough to get returned. But fudge me do they not wanna fix your goods.
Bought this from Costco a while back and haven't regretted it. Great TV and the best OS I've ever used.
That image on the TV up top - trees against the sunset - been showing all day on that screen.
Be burnt in there for good now...
Excellent tv. Excellent price

They normally ask for pictures of the hdmi port or screen which in fairness is the correct way. Could be worse mate try curry's or John Lewis who don't fix anything and tell you it's you're own damage and isn't covered under the manufacturer warranty
Had this TV 6 months now & its brilliant

Great point there, high sharpness can start to kill the picture of even the best sets.
I haven't turned mine on since The Grand Tour ended lol, the problem with the TV is the upscaling sucks, and sadly most UK TV is still 576 or 720p, nothing is broadcasted in 1080 and only apps are 4K. So I use my KS7000 more as the upscaling is much better, normal TV looks more crisp... plus I don't have to worry about News programs burning into it. So I only turn it on if I want to watch a movie, other than that I'm disappointed in the upscaling, I'm excited to see these 8K TVs as their upscaling is really really good... but it has to be.

I have this TV and it's been great.

If Richer aftercare is a problem, John Lewis will price match.

From previous experience, I find that the JL aftercare to be excellent and i would forsake a 6 year guarantee for a 5 year one on this basis.

I know little about this sort of thing, but I noticed BBC iplayer seems to be offering some UHD (is that what you're after?) coverage of Wimbledon if that's of interest...

I don’t watch BBC because I’m not giving money to that corrupt crap.

I just bought one of these, got it home, line of dead pixels, phoned them and they asked me to take it back in for a straight replacement, no quibbles.
Also, it's definitely not "Quiet" by any means. Downward facing speakers sure, but I guess it depends how you have it set up, mines mounted to my Ikea TV Unit and it sounds fine.

Ouch! That looks like a nasty burn there and one of the reasons I didn't get LG. 3 LG in my local Curry's had screen burn.

I'm glad I held out too because jlp Kingston had a mad sale on returned Pana oleds. I picked up the 55fz802 for £699 with 5 year warranty and screen is perfect.

I'm extremely grateful to the person who returned it 😁
38038862.jpg38038862.jpgBefore anyone says I'm lying! They had a few there. I was going to get the 65" for £999 but it's to big for my bedroom.
