LG OLED65B9PLA (2019) OLED HDR 4K Ultra HD Smart TV, 65" with Freeview Play/Freesat HD, Dolby Atmos & Streamlined Alpine Stand, Ultra HD Certified, Silver - £1799 (Was £1999)

LG’s B9 combines 4K HDR cinema screen design with advanced AI to further enhance both picture and sound. Perfect Colour on Perfect Black ensures real-world colour and contrast, while Dolby Atmos sound unites with Dolby Vision HDR for a cinematic experience. Use LG’s award-winning webOS Smart platform to stream shows from such apps as Netflix*, and navigate with the intuitive Magic Remote. With this Thinq AI TV you can interact by voice, with the Google Assistant and Alexa built in. A streamlined alpine stand means its slim profile matches its spectacular visuals.

Impeccable 4K OLED Screen
Organic LED tech fuses with 4K resolution for superior contrast, colour and clarity. OLED pixels are self-lighting, meaning that they can switch on-and-off individually, for the deepest blacks and super-bright whites. Compared to regular LED screens, LG's panel adds an extra white sub-pixel, delivering ultra-fine gradation and a true-to-life colour palette.

4K Cinema HDR with Dolby Vision
HDR deepens your view and shows shades previously unseen in home entertainment. Expanding light, dark and every colour in between to extraordinary new levels, this model's picture gets closer to real life. LG's 4K Cinema HDR supports multiple HDR formats including Dolby Vision, Advanced HDR by Technicolor and HDR10 Pro.

4K Ultra High Definition
This 55” screen has four times the number of pixels than 1080p Full HD TVs, delivering stunning realism, natural motion and incredible detail.

Features:
Perfect Colour on Perfect Black: thanks to the OLED screen's self emitting pixels, colour representation is lifelike and wide-ranging, on a background of perfect blacks and rich detail, even in dark shades.

Alpha 7 Gen 2 Processor: The second generation intelligent processor is optimised for a premium OLED picture of exceptional clarity and brightness, whatever you’re watching.

Dolby Atmos Sound: immersive Dolby Atmos places sound within three dimensions for an enveloping soundscape, with you at the centre. Coupled with Dolby Vision HDR, it's a fully cinematic experience.

Thinq AI: bringing the intelligence and convenience of voice interaction to the living room, this Thinq AI TV can listen, think and respond to your questions.

4K High Frame Rate via HDMI: With full HDMI 2.1 compatibility, this LG TV can handle High Frame Rates for smoother motion, so even the most frantic sporting action is crisp and blur-free.

webOS Smart Platform
LG’s award-winning webOS platform revolutionises how you experience your entertainment. With simple and intuitive content discovery and switching, there’s more entertainment available than ever before. You can stream Sky Movies or Sports through NOW TV, 4K UHD content through Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, the latest movies and TV from Google Play and TalkTalk TV stores, and music from Spotify or YouTube.*

Advanced Voice Control & Smart Compatibility
This Thinq AI TV has the Google Assistant and Alexa built in, so you can get answers to questions while you're watching TV. You can also control compatible smart devices, and check your Google photos or Google Calendar on the TV screen (Google sign-in required). It’s also compatible with Apple Airplay 2 and Homekit devices.

Freeview Play
This LG TV features Freeview Play. Combining catch-up TV, on-demand services and live television, watching what you want, when you want, is now easier than ever. It’s free from subscription and is compatible with existing broadband services too. Services such as BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4 and My5 are also available without having to open specific applications. This gives effortless scroll back so you never miss a second of your favourite shows.

Streamlined Design
The thin and light OLED screen exudes cutting edge elegance. Finished with a streamlined Alpine Stand, its architecture funnels the TV's front-firing sound directly at the viewer and enhances the viewing experience.

Nice price!
that foot though
I have been waiting for the C8 to drop back to £1,099 of a few months ago but now realise most of the main sellers have sold these off and the few that remain are £1,299.

So in short, for £1,299, which tv is better? The C8 or B9? Only for watching TV, no gaming. Thanks.

Thanks! Any idea how the A9 Processor of the C8 compares with the 2nd Gen A7 processor in the B9?

I wouldn't worry too much Ryan, either of these will be excellent. I'm running my C6 will all processing settings turned off and the picture is still astounding.
If you want the best go for the C9 I'll personally wait till black Friday sale which will be next month

Apart from the hdmi ports being 2.1 there is barely any difference between the 2, c8 beats c9 in some areas and vice versa, that's from rtings website and out of them all they are probably the best around to go off

2nd gen a7 is basically the same as the gen 1 with very very slight tweaks, A9 chip is just better at noise reduction, upscaling images and so on, I would recommend getting the c8 or waiting for a price drop (black friday) of the C9 if can't get a cheap C8

C8 over the B9

According to some people B8 over the B9 too
For those high refresh rate connoisseurs , this TV supports 120Hz @ 4K resolutions with frame rate sync. So if you have a RTX 20xx or GTX 16xx graphics card you can enable G-sync. Good to see new TV's with support for high refresh rates.

Personally I'd wait for a PC enthusiast/gamer review on YouTube to see if there's any gotchas or caveats when it comes to high refresh rates. Although on paper it certainly sounds promising!

I'm currently not in the market for a new TV but this or a C9 would be at the top of the list to consider.

I am ready for a good OLED tbh, just holding back on whether I want to risk the burn-in with family using it. I need to take some more time to look into them though I think.

This might be worth a watch. youtube.com/wat…CzY

I'd say unless you're constantly watching BBC news or Sky news 16 hours a day you'll probably be alright.

Is this suitable for PS4 Pro.
Dusty66606/10/2019 10:21

Is this suitable for PS4 Pro.

This TV will work to the full capabilities of the PS4 Pro yes, but the PS4 Pro does not support 120Hz output. There'd be no benefit in the 120Hz rate for most normal use, in fact right now only PC gamers would benefit. It is highly likely though that the next gen Xbox and PS5 would have support for high refresh rates.
