LG’s B9 combines 4K HDR cinema screen design with advanced AI to further enhance both picture and sound. Perfect Colour on Perfect Black ensures real-world colour and contrast, while Dolby Atmos sound unites with Dolby Vision HDR for a cinematic experience. Use LG’s award-winning webOS Smart platform to stream shows from such apps as Netflix*, and navigate with the intuitive Magic Remote. With this Thinq AI TV you can interact by voice, with the Google Assistant and Alexa built in. A streamlined alpine stand means its slim profile matches its spectacular visuals.

Impeccable 4K OLED Screen
Organic LED tech fuses with 4K resolution for superior contrast, colour and clarity. OLED pixels are self-lighting, meaning that they can switch on-and-off individually, for the deepest blacks and super-bright whites. Compared to regular LED screens, LG's panel adds an extra white sub-pixel, delivering ultra-fine gradation and a true-to-life colour palette.

4K Cinema HDR with Dolby Vision
HDR deepens your view and shows shades previously unseen in home entertainment. Expanding light, dark and every colour in between to extraordinary new levels, this model's picture gets closer to real life. LG's 4K Cinema HDR supports multiple HDR formats including Dolby Vision, Advanced HDR by Technicolor and HDR10 Pro.

4K Ultra High Definition
This 55” screen has four times the number of pixels than 1080p Full HD TVs, delivering stunning realism, natural motion and incredible detail.

Features:

Perfect Colour on Perfect Black: thanks to the OLED screen's self emitting pixels, colour representation is lifelike and wide-ranging, on a background of perfect blacks and rich detail, even in dark shades.

Alpha 7 Gen 2 Processor: The second generation intelligent processor is optimised for a premium OLED picture of exceptional clarity and brightness, whatever you’re watching.

Dolby Atmos Sound: immersive Dolby Atmos places sound within three dimensions for an enveloping soundscape, with you at the centre. Coupled with Dolby Vision HDR, it's a fully cinematic experience.

Thinq AI: bringing the intelligence and convenience of voice interaction to the living room, this Thinq AI TV can listen, think and respond to your questions.

4K High Frame Rate via HDMI: With full HDMI 2.1 compatibility, this LG TV can handle High Frame Rates for smoother motion, so even the most frantic sporting action is crisp and blur-free.

webOS Smart Platform
LG’s award-winning webOS platform revolutionises how you experience your entertainment. With simple and intuitive content discovery and switching, there’s more entertainment available than ever before. You can stream Sky Movies or Sports through NOW TV, 4K UHD content through Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, the latest movies and TV from Google Play and TalkTalk TV stores, and music from Spotify or YouTube.*

Advanced Voice Control & Smart Compatibility
This Thinq AI TV has the Google Assistant and Alexa built in, so you can get answers to questions while you're watching TV. You can also control compatible smart devices, and check your Google photos or Google Calendar on the TV screen (Google sign-in required). It’s also compatible with Apple Airplay 2 and Homekit devices.

Freeview Play
This LG TV features Freeview Play. Combining catch-up TV, on-demand services and live television, watching what you want, when you want, is now easier than ever. It’s free from subscription and is compatible with existing broadband services too. Services such as BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4 and My5 are also available without having to open specific applications. This gives effortless scroll back so you never miss a second of your favourite shows.

My parents bought an LG 55EC930V in 2015 I think. Still going strong. So they have had their panel for 4 years. I just did the screen burn test with some video from youtube. I noticed there is a ever so faint burn/retention under certain colours like red in the top right corner but its soo faint you would not notice is with regular viewing.

Overall the picture is still sublime. The blacks are beautiful. They watch around 6+hours daily. The reason for the slight logo retention is due to them being massive cricket fans and watching long matches. However for the regular user I couldnt see this being a problem. Their TV is one of the first to come out so I would imagine this issue to have improved on newer sets.

They have no idea about screen burn and are pensioners. If I bought one I would probably be more careful. However, all I tend to watch are tv shows, movies and random television. I much like many people out there would probably not cause screen burn with day to day watching.

Screen burn doesn't occur that often.

I would rather buy a LG TV then have Samsung.

Where? I only see 7 'used' B9s on there, none listed as having burn in?

This or Sony AG8?

I would say the AG8 if you can get it anywhere near the same price. I'm convinced the one I returned was a one off fault. However, on saying that, the free sound bar and films makes this the most attractive bundle. On the Sony you wont need a sound bar cos the sound is superb!

Sony use the screen to create bass and sound dont they? The Sony rep demo'd this in John Lewis and you could feel the screen vibrating. Was quite impressive. I think that was on an older version last year.

Yes, indeed. Amazing tech. The sound is class. Pity mine had blocky images from multiple sources. Went for C9 instead. It is some TV, but the sound is mediocre by comparison imho

Unless you watch TV in a very bright room, cancel it and get the B9.

Because it's a much better image. OLED is something to behold. I am only helping, sort of.

Hahahahaha don’t leave a static image on your screen for hours on end day after day! Tv has Pixel refresh software built in to help with this. Do some research online. I have the C9 and it’s the best set I’ve ever owned.

It doesn't have to be a static image. It could a static logo, or game HUD. They can be unavoidable to some.
Yeah I just meant anything static on the screen in general. I’ve read enough online and seen enough ‘experts’ online to make me confident that the risk is low with standard viewing. I’m glad anyone has the time to be on games and watch tv for hours and hours on end to even have the chance of getting burn in.
Ours had the screen replaced under Curry’s warranty, for horrendous burn-in. Have allowed cobwebs to slowly take over the htpc in the lounge, as it’s clear this technology isn’t suitable for its use, which is a shame.
Forced to the bedroom, to use the htpc in there, as it’s hooked up to a good old lcd.

Clearly don't have this oled or b8 etc .If screen is left unattended it goes into screen saver mode with no onscreen retention images.

Think its the troll model
I saw this TV in Currys I think for £1100 on Boxing Day. It had a stunning image. This seems like a good deal. Does anyone have one? Reviews of it so far would he helpful

Static elements won't trigger wallpaper. That would be annoying.

Drama queens are here! I had a 55B6 for 3 years which was used continuously watching sport, films and my boys playing PlayStation, no element of burn in at all.
The TV developed a panel defect and I topped up the settlement to get a 65C9 and wow, what a telly.
The morale is, look after the TV and it won't be an issue, turn off when not in use.
Once you go OLED, it's difficult to return to LCD.

What kind of image was it that burnt in? Thanks

The Chrome search bar, and the outline of YouTube windows+buttons. Tried every trick to avoid; hidden Taskbar, Desktop icon, wallpaper on 60sec rotation and moving the browser window periodically around the screen (just resulted in lots of Chorme search bars). Also used the inbuilt screen saving tech...
C9 deal gotta be coming soon...
Where are these free blu ray films that keep getting mentioned redeemed?

Same with the sound bar, do you have to add it to your basket or...?
Is better to buy C9 over B9, any strong justification please?
Mega DEAL! 🔥
I think the soundbar in the picture is not the SJ3 though
