Might as well go RS though as they have 1 extra year warranty no?

I would, but I have a gift voucher at JL.

Ah fair enough.
I'd still consider using Currys for the potential (unlikely) £150 Topcashback and potential (unlikely) 1 in 10 chance of getting it half price.

Additional 1 year warranty is no biggie.

Not sure where you get the 1 in 10 chance. Their terms say no. No means no sadly.
Which model has the new HDMI ports suitable for the next gen consoles, is it "C"?

C/E (confirmed). B might be absolutely fine. Need to wait.

B9 supports 120hz at 4k, but maybe not 4k 120hz HDR

I thought you meant just topcashback, sorry! Misread that completely.

No worries. Personally, I would sacrifice 1 years warranty in the hope that cashback sneaks through or you win that prize.

It's something to consider, and delivery for tomorrow, which is a bonus.

Not sure mate, I believe so. I need to wait until after work till I can get to my voucher.
rev629/11/2019 10:43

At John Lewis? Why would you?

I have gift card and can buy further as discount through work perk so could take cost down to near £900 for me

Depends on which store you have more faith in still being around in 5 years time IMO. So I wouldn't pick RS purely because of 1 year more warranty. I usually buy a new TV after 3-4 years anyway.
Lol yeah Richer sounds have no heritage do they

I keep my Tv's for longer than 6 years. JL could easily go also, their profits have slumped majorly in the past couple of years.
I got it for 989 and triggered the price match
Had to bite on this deal at richersounds, if it drops in next 7 days they will match it so no need to hold out for 950!
1 year extra warranty and read better stories about replacements at RS than at JL.
Don’t need next day delivery as not moving into new house until next week.
Got one on the way from Amazon warehouse like new for £805. Is the extra warranty worth sending this back for ?

All cashback is risky sadly. I have had numerous problems. So I never take it as guaranteed. But on an almost like for like offer, I would chance the cashback.

Spot on though to not give a retailer that has screwed you over any more of your money.

Yer same here
I'm really struggling between this and the C9. I know I'd almost certainly want to pay someone to calibrate the B9, so I'm wondering if I might as well just get the C9 as it's much better out of the box.

£300 is £300 though... =/

Why would you pay when calibration settings are posted online?

Calibration settings don't always work the same for every panel. I've seen suggested settings make a screen less accurate than they come out of the box.

I used to do the calibration manually... but frankly it's way too much time and effort for me these days.

I'd argue that the human eye couldn't tell the difference and any perceived difference would be psychosomatic. I could be wrong though.

Yeah, the shadow detail is a concern. It's the sort of thing I've picked up on, definitely in lower quality sources.
