See the OLED difference for yourself
With advanced Pixel Level Dimming, OLED remains one of the best options for class-leading picture quality. Unlike LED screens, OLED doesn't require backlighting, so the colour is consistent right across the screen, with greatly enhanced contrast levels.

Alpha 7 Gen 2 processor – for enhanced picture processing
This LG TV features their advanced new Alpha 7 Gen 2 processor. The upgraded processor features Deep Learning AI algorithm for enhanced picture quality. Advantages including enhanced image rendering, improved shadow details and smoother motion, all give a more lifelike image than ever.

HDMI 2.1 connectivity for wider support
Featuring HDMI 2.1 sockets gives this LG greatly enhanced connectivity. HDMI 2.1 supports Dynamic HDR. This lets the TV adjust the picture frame-by-frame for active control of the contrast. For gaming and VR headset use, Variable Refresh Rate and Quick Frame Transport aim to reduce lag and provide a smoother and more responsive feel. HDMI 2.1 also supports eARC– an upgraded Audio Return Channel that supports DTS:X and Dolby Atmos from TV to audio system.

AI Picture
Artificial Intelligence comes of age with LG’s Deep Learning AI Picture. This clever system compares the signal with a table of content and automatically adjusts the picture quality to the most accurate image possible. Using an ambient light sensor, the system adjusts screen brightness and other criteria (with HDR signals). The result is greater realism with a cleaner and sharper picture.

AI Sound
If you fancy a more cinematic sound from your TV, then LG’s AI Sound should be music to your ears. Using AI algorithms, AI Sound up-mixes two-channel audio to virtual 5.1 sound – giving a much more immersive sound stage. The powerful a7 Gen 2 processor also optimises the sound based on content type – giving clearer vocals with news and dramas. The powerful AI can also take account of your room’s acoustics and layout and adjusts to give the cleanest sound possible.

Dolby Atmos compatible sound
With a Dolby Atmos processor built-in this LG OLED 55” TV decodes Atmos sound tracks - giving you the potential for an even more immersive sound. With its built-in 2.2 speaker set-up and a 40 watt amp, the OLED55B9PLA delivers a smooth, well-balanced sound.

Amazing price add TV30 for £30 off TVs

I did want one but now it's not getting gsync I'll pass. As my b7 will do until next gen consoles or c9 drops to a great price

What's gsync, would it be no good for a PS5 when it comes out

The C9 has VRR which is supported by the Xbox One X

The PS5 will be based on similar AMD hardware and so should support VRR as well. VRR is near identical to the gsync implementation in this TV.

I thought I read that it will get it later on in the future. I cannot see any reason apart from marketing why the B9 would not be able to have G-Sync. Unless I am missing something?

The B9 has a cut-down chipset at its heart. It may be that the compromises they made to make it cheaper prevent support... or it may just been product segmentation. No way to know really.
too near to BF to be buying a TV, waiting for hopefully a £1K C/E9

It will be great for the ps5 specially with the better hdmi ports on the b9. Though by black friday 2020 we maybe get better specs on a tv suited for the ps5. If the ps5 was released February I would hands down buy this tv

Gsync was created to eliminate screen tearing. Yes AMD have their technology but I'll rather have more features offered to a tv than not. Though to be fair the b9 is way cheaper than c/e9 to complain about it as the difference could go to a ps5

I am tempted to now wait till next year to see what the new consoles are like before buying a TV now. Will see.

Not chance unfortunately especially the E9. that is still 2,000 maybe the B9 will hit £1100 but won’t be lower than that
